INSTALLING THE RADIO RECEIVER
As far as possible, avoid installing the receiver too close to the body of the
boiler or any other metal object that could interfere with the radio waves. It
is advisable to mount the radio receiver on the wall in the area surrounding
the heating appliance so that the controls are accessible (PROG button +
indicator light).
Mount the radio receiver using either double-sided adhesives or the screws and
plugs (supplied). Open the receiver by pressing the button situated on top of
it. Open the protective housing by loosening the 2 locking screws, so that the
terminal blocks are visible.
Installation for boiler or heat pump: Connect the blue and brown cable to your receiver’s COM/NO terminal blocks; polarity is not applicable.
Connect the other end of the cable to your heating system, on the COM & NO
terminal blocks. (if you have a bridge on your heating system, please remove
it).
Then take the second cable, and connect the brown wire to L (live), and the
blue wire to N (neutral). Connect the other end of the cable to your heating
system, on the L or P terminal blocks for brown, and N for blue. Ensure that
the receiver switch is left in the AC OFF position.
Installation for a pilot wire radiator: A pilot wire radiator differs
from a dry contact radiator by its modes. The modes (Comfort, Eco, Frost
Protection, etc.) are represented using the symbols below:
Connect the pilot wire cable to the FP terminal on the receiver. Then connect
the brown cable to live (L), and the blue cable to neutral (N). Finally, set
the switch on the receiver to the AC ON position.
Hydraulic floor heating (solenoid-valve based).
Installation for NC floor heating:
Connect the receiver’s NO & N terminals (NB: an NC valve is connected to the
NO terminal in the receiver). Then connect these 2 cables to the NC valve.
Then connect the brown cable to the L terminal block for live, and the blue
cable to the neutral N. Connect the other end of this second cable to the
switchboard (L to live & N to neutral). Finally, set the switch on the
receiver to the AC ON position.
Installation for NO floor heating:
Connect the receiver’s NC & N terminals (NB: an NO valve is connected to the
NC terminal in the receiver). Then connect these 2 cables to the valve N0.
Then connect the brown cable to the L terminal block for live, and the blue
cable to the neutral N. Connect the other end of this second cable to the
switchboard (L to live & N to neutral). Finally, set the switch on the
receiver to the AC ON position.
Hot water tank installation:
Connect the brown cable to the CH ON terminal block. Then connect the brown
cable to the L terminal block for live, and the blue cable to the neutral N.
Then connect the other end of this second cable to the switchboard (L to live
& N to neutral). Finally, set the switch to the AC ON position.
PAIRING WITH THE RADIO RECEIVER
After inserting the cables into your receiver’s terminal blocks, reclose
the protective housing to insulate the connections. Ensure that the white
sheath is properly inserted, to ensure that it is held in place over time.
Switch the power on again. The LEDs will flash.
- Press and hold the receiver’s “PROG” button for 3 seconds to pair a boiler, heat pump, floor heating or pilot wire radiator. The “Connection ” LED will begin to flash green, and pairing mode will be active for 10 minutes. If you want to pair an independent hot water tank, press and hold the Prog button for 6 seconds; the green LED will flash again.
- Briefly press the “PROG” button located on top of the battery compartment of the thermostat. While searching for the receiver, the thermostat’s blue and red LEDs will flash quickly. Wait for a few seconds. If the blue LED has flashed 3 times, the pairing has been successful. On the receiver, the connection LED will remain continuously green. If the red LED has flashed 3 times, an error has occurred during pairing. Please begin the pairing procedure again.
PAIRING WITH TAHOMA
When the thermostat is powered on, it remains in pairing mode for 10
minutes. Go to your TaHoma interface to pair your thermostat with your home
automation box.
- If you do not complete pairing within this period, use a pointed object to press on the PROG button on the back of the thermostat’s front panel for 3 seconds. Make sure that the power supply module remains in place when removing the front panel from the thermostat.
OPERATION
ON THE THERMOSTAT:
You can set the temperature of your thermostat manually to between 15 and
26 degrees, thanks to the product’s touchscreen interface. This will have the
effect of creating an exemption, which will end when a new setpoint is issued
by TaHoma (temperature, mode, weekly program or scenario).
TAHOMA:
- Control: You can modify the temperature of your heating system on your control interface, and select the desired mode from night, at home, out, and frost protection modes. For the hot water tank, you can select ON, OFF or Boost mode, subject to compatibility.
- Schedule: The thermostat or the hot water tank can be incorporated into the TaHoma schedule
(subject to compatibility). You will then be able to include temperature or mode orders in your typical days (and modes only for the hot water tank). NB: if you want to use the TaHoma’s schedule, you need to deactivate the internal programme to prevent schedule conflicts.
OTHER SETTINGS:
- Heating anticipation (deactivated by default): If heating anticipation is activated, your thermostat will automatically calculate the time required to reach the desired temperature at the requested time.
- Min. / Max. (by default 5°C – 26°C): Used to set limit temperatures on your io thermostat.
- Thermostat Child locking mode (deactivated by default): Child safety function, locking temperature changes on the io thermostat.
- Window open detection (activated by default): If the temperature falls by more than 2°C in 20 minutes, the current mode stops and switches to open window mode = setpoint temperature of 8°C. The io thermostat will restart after 20 minutes, or if it detects a temperature increase of 0.5°C in less than 20 minutes.
- Continuous display (deactivated by default): You can activate or deactivate the continuous LED display on your thermostat.
- Hysteresis (0°C by default): You can set your thermostat’s sensitivity threshold for more or less fine heating regulation. The thermostat deems that the temperature setpoint reached when the sensitivity threshold is reached (e.g.: Tsetpoint = 20°C, Hysteresis = +/-0.2°C, then regulation range = 19.8°C – 20.2°C).
- Internal program (deactivated by default): In the io thermostat’s parameters, it is possible to create two distinct weekly programs. These programs are saved in the io thermostat and when activated, the programs will operate automatically in the event of an Internet interruption. (Default: Night from midnight to 06:00, At Home from 06:00 to 21:00, Night from 21:00 to midnight). This program incorporates the heating anticipation function, which can be deactivated in the parameters (NB: there is no heating anticipation with the TaHoma schedule).
