How to Use Buttons for Quick Function Switch

(For more functions, please continue reading the instruction manual)

  1. Toggle the switch on the right to ON
  2. Long press the button (small icon), the blue light will flash, and the Bluetooth will enter pairing mode. The scanner is ready to rebuild the Bluetooth connection. After you complete the connection, press the button to start scanning.

How to Check Your Battery Status Quickly
Short press the button, The more the green lights flash, the more sufficient the battery remains. The battery is below 10% amount if the yellow LED flashes. Please recharge your scanner soon.

How to Shift between Inventory and Normal Mode
Press the button (large icon) and hold, and then long press the button (small icon) to shift between inventory and normal modes.

How to Use

Note: Barcodes marked with are the default settings of the BCST-42

Power on/off

  1. Toggle the switch on the right to ON
  2. Toggle the switch on the right to OFF.
  3. By default, the barcode scanner enters sleep mode after 10 minutes in idle status. This time setting can be altered by scanning the corresponding barcode.

System and Keyboard Setting

Note:
If you want to use the BCST-42 with an Android device, to ensure the accuracy of the output, we recommend using the Gboard APP., and setting the scanner as “Windows/ Android Mode” compatible and the input keyboard as “American Keyboard”. The barcode scanner supports the Gboard input method and will not be affected by the language setting of the Gboard input method.

System setting
The default compatible systems are Windows and Android. You may scan the barcodes below to set the operating system you want to work with.

Connection

Bluetooth HID Mode
Bluetooth HID mode is the default mode. Please scan the “Enter Setup”-“Bluetooth HID Mode”­-“Save and Exit” barcode in turn.

If you want to connect the BCST-42 with another phone or laptop, please scan the barcodes “Enter Setup”-“One to One/ Many Pairing’. Open the Bluetooth on the phone/laptop, search BCST-42, and then have them paired.

Note:
Under Bluetooth HID mode, the virtual keyboard will be automatically hidden when connecting the BCST-42 with a phone.

  1. If you are on an iOS device, Long press the scanning button for three seconds to activate or hide the virtual keyboard.
  2. If you are on an Android device, please follow the steps below to reactivate the virtual keyboard:
    • Turn on the “Settings” app on your Android device;
    • Select a language and input method. Follow the steps below according to the Android version you’re using.
    • Android 7.0 and Higher: Select physical keyboard – show virtual keyboard in turn
    • Android 6.0 and Lower: Select the current keyboard hardware (show input method) in turn.
USB Mode

When connecting the barcode scanner to a computer via USB cable, the BCST-42 will prioritize using the USB data transmission.

Inventory Mode

Users may use inventory mode to keep the scanned barcodes in the cache of lnateck BCST-42 and upload them to a computer in batches. Under inventory mode, users are not restricted to the time or location when uploading data. Of course, history data can be cleared in the cache. More details about inventory mode are as below.

Note:
You don’t have to”enter setup” or”save and exit” when reading the 5 barcodes below. Simply scan the barcodes to enjoy the functions.

Status indication

How to check the battery status
Short press the small button. You may learn the battery volume according to the three green LED indicators.

Note: When the battery volume is below 10%, the yellow LED will flash for a warning.

Green LED flashes

| It indicates the BCST-42 is paired via Bluetooth wireless technology but not connected to a device. Also, the scanner is trying to connect for another time.

If the reconnection fails in Ss, the scanner will stop trying with the green LED becomes off. If you press the button, it will try the connection again with a green LED flashing.

Green LED flashes once| Successful scanning and data is uploaded.
Blue LED flashes| The BCST-42 is under Bluetooth pairing mode and can be detected by a phone.
Blue LED flashes once| The scan is successful and data is stored in the buffer.
Blue LED lit| Under setup mode.
Yellow LED flashes| The battery is running short.
Red LED lit| The BCST-42 is undercharging (the red LED goes off once fully charged).
