UA1006 USB 3.2 to SATA Adapter

Introduction

Inateck UA1006 can connect a 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch SATA hard drive to a computer via the USB port. With the USB 3.2 Gen 2 data transfer  protocol, this adapter can transfer data at up to 10Gbps theoretically. Limited by the speed of a SATA Ill drive, the actual transfer speed can only  reach up to 6Gbps, 20% faster than that of USB 3.0. This USB 3.2 to SATA adapter can back up, move or archive your files quickly and easily.

How to Use

1. Connect the hard drive to the SATA interface of your UA1006.
2. Plug the DC connector of the power adapter into your UA1006 to connect power.
3. Determine the USB type on the computer. If your computer has a USB Type-A port, plug the USB A connector of the cable into the computer and plug the USB C connector into your UA1006 and vice versa.
4. The drive will show up on your computer.

Note:

1. The switchable dual-port design is patented to Inateck, which aims 1 to make a hard drive accessible to different computers whether they are equipped with USB A ports or USB C ports so that users do not need to buy more USB cables or adapters. Unlike the USB cable in the  package, any third-party cable cannot achieve bi-directional data transfer.
2. Please connect the power adapter with your UA1006 whether it is connected to a 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch hard drive or your UA1006 cannot work properly.
3. To avoid data loss, please do not remove the drive when it’s being accessed by the computer.
4. Both the USB A port and the USB C port on the adapter are upstream ports, which can only be connected to your computer. In addition these two ports cannot work simultaneously so you cannot connect the adapter with two computers at the same time.

F&Q:

A. Why can’t hard drives larger than 2TB be recognized by the computer?****

– New hard drives need to be partitioned. MBR (Master Boot Record) and GPT (GUID Partition Table) are two partitioning schemes and the former only supports hard drives up to 2TB. Therefore, to recognize hard drives larger than 2TB, please follow steps below to convert MBR to GPT on your computer.
– 1. Press Win+R and click OK.
– 2. Type diskpart and press Enter from the command prompt.
– 3. Type list disk and press Enter from the diskpart prompt to display all disks attached to the computer. Type select disk 0 to select Disk 0 or type select disk 1 to select Disk 1.
– 4. Type convert gpt to convert the MBR partition table scheme into GPT partition table scheme.
– Attention: DiskPart can be used to manage drive partitions and storage devices but data will be removed once your drive is partitioned with DiskPart. Therefore, it is recommended to backup your data first. Before converting MBRto GPT, please delete the existing partition.

B. Why doesn’t the hard drive show up in File Manager on Windows?****

– First, determine if your hard drive is brand-new. New hard drives need to be partitioned so that they can be detected in File Manager. Then, disconnect the drive adapter with the computer and try different USB ports on it.
– If you still experience the problem, it is recommended to format the drive with partitioning and formatting programs coming with the operating system. (Right-click “My Computer” > “Manage” to run “Disk Management”)
