iX sample project
Attached package “SER0064_iX_Genset_V1.0.0.zip” contains two iX example
projects.
Unzip and open the iX Developer projects Genset 7” or Genset 15” template.
Features of the Genset template”
These are the main features of the Genset template for X2 Pro 15”
5.1 Genset-Specific
-
RPM Circular Gauge (adjustable; no alarms)
-
“Interlocks- with First Out” (managed from Alarm Screen)
-
Cylinder Exhaust Temperature Bar Indicators (adjustable; no alarms)
-
3-Phase Winding Info Block (adjustable values; no alarms)
-
Genset Info-graphic for showing sensor alarm locations (info only)
-
Genset Operating Parameters (adjustable, alarms based on alarm trip points on separate screen)
Standard iX Buttons -
Home Button
-
Trend Screen (not used as no controller configured)
-
Alarm Screen- contains Interlock simulation On-Off and access to Genset Operating Parameter trip values
5.2 Adjustable Fields (no alarms):
Click on any of the value fields for Genset RPM, Cylinder Exhaust
Temperatures, and Phase A/B/C process conditions. See picture below. These are
for display only. Typical values are loaded initially when project is run.
5.3 Genset Operating Parameters:
Click on any of the value fields for Lube Oil Pressure,Fuel Oil Pressure, Fuel
Rack Load, Jacket Water Temperature, and Bearing Temperature and enter new
value to demonstrate alarm conditions on values rising or falling. A popup of
Trip Points is shown and are accessed from the Alarm Screen. General location
of alarm flashes on Genset picture.
5.4 Alarm screen – Trip Points
The alarm screen is the standard iX alarm template with the exception of the
addition of the “Manage Trip Points” button which will take you to the Trip
Points screen. This allows the user to adjust the trip points rising (High) or
falling (Low) for the various analog sensors represented on this particular
genset demo.
Along the bottom of the screen are the Interlocks (permissibles) which
prohibit the starting of the genset or will cause the genset to shut down
should any of those conditions exist. These are typically discrete switches
(pressure, temperature, etc.). These buttons are to help demonstrate the alarm
conditions (acknowledge, clear, filter, etc.). In addition, the main screen
will also show which of these interlocks was activated first (“first out”) and
shut the genset down. This can aid the operator in troubleshooting the genset.
The “first out” feature will show on a later slide.
5.5 Alarm Screen – Interlocks
At the bottom of the alarm screen, select as many of the interlocks as
desired. You will see that the discrete button will toggle the respective
permissive as in alarm or not in alarm. The corresponding alarm will activate
in the standard alarm table above, as well. These can be acknowledged and
cleared (when alarm condition is off) as is the case with any iX project.
5.6 Main Screen – Interlocks
When the interlocks are activated from the Alarm Screen, each of the lamp
indicators will change from green (off) to red (on). In addition, a YELLOW
highlight box will illuminate around the particular interlock which activated
first and shuts the genset down (in best practice). As long as the interlock
is active, the red lamp will stay lit. Once ALL alarm conditions are no longer
in alarm for the interlocks, the First Out yellow box will clear.
Acknowledging the alarms will not clear the First Out indicator.
5.7 Features of the Genset template for X2 Pro 7”
There is also a separate iX template genset file for the 7” HMI’s which has
essentially the exact same information and functionality but which was
condensed and rearranged a bit so it would fit on a 7” HMI and be legible. Of
course, the 15” project file can be targeted to any of the X2 HMI sizes, the
buttons and text are very small when targeting the 15” project to a 7” HMI.
Below you will see that the information is exactly the same with the most
noticeable change being the size of the genset info-graphic which is now
located at the bottom right of the main screen. The Alarm and Trend buttons
are also in a different place, as well.
