Switch Model Numbers

  • CSWONBLBWF1NN/ST1P
  • CSWONBLPWF1NN/ST1P
  • CSWONBLTWF1NN/ST1P
  • CSWDMBLBWF1NN/ST1P
  • CSWDMOCBWF1NN/ST1P

Requirements

  • Ground wire is required (Wire is usually green, green with a yellow stripe, or copper)
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n @ 2.4 GHZ is required
  • Minimum Load 15 Watts
  • If you are using less than 15 Watts, non-dimmable LED bulbs, or C by GE or Cync Smart Bulbs on the circuit, you will need to use the included Bulb Adaptor. Use the optional Fixture Adaptor (available separately) where the Bulb Adaptor will not fit. Contact Customer Support at 1-844302-2943 for details.

Compatibility

  • Rating 120V AC 60Hz
  • Neutral wire is not required (Wire is usually white or grey and is not required)
  • Works with halogen, incandescent, and LED bulbs, including Cync/C by GE Smart Bulbs
  • Not for use with ceiling fans
  • LED up to 1.25 amps (150 Watts)
  • Incandescent/halogen up to 5 amps (450 Watts)
Wiring Configuration Compatible User Experience
3-Way Install Yes Two switches on the same circuit controlling the same

light(s).  All switches on the circuit must be a Cync Smart Switch.
4-Way/Multi-Way Install| No| Three or more switches on the same circuit controlling the same light(s). Having more switches on the circuit requires more syphoned current from the load which will cause inconsistent functionality and a poor experience. Due to the instability of this setup, this install is not compatible.
California 3-Way| Yes| See wiring diagram below for details.
Dead End 3-Way| Yes| See wiring diagram below for details.
Knob and Tube Wiring| No| This wiring setup is not compatible or supported due to the risk of lower grade copper, and the potential of deterioration/snapping of the wires.
Mixing different switch brands with Cync Smart Switches on the same circuit.| No| All switches on the same circuit must be a Cync Smart Switch. Our switches will not function properly if they are mixed with a basic on/off switch, or a non-Cync Smart Switch on the same circuit.
Mixing Cync Dimmers and Cync On/Off Switches on the same circuit| No| Mixing 3-Wire Dimmers and 3-Wire Switches on the same circuit is not compatible. They all need to be either all 3-Wire Dimmers or 3-Wire Switches.
Light Bulb/Fixture
Compatibility| Compatible| User Experience
---|---|---
CFL| Yes| For dimmers, select non-dimmable load since CFL’s cannot dim.
Florescent Fixtures with
Electronic Ballasts| No| Not compatible due to high capacitance and high switching frequency within the ballast circuitry which may cause interference with our switches.
Magnetic Ballasts| No| Not compatible due to high capacitance in the circuit from starting circuitry that may cause interference with our switches.
LED Drivers| No| Due to the variety of types and different specifications of LED Drivers, we cannot
guaruntee compatibility with our switches.
Fans| No| Our 3-Wire Switches are not compatible for fan switches. If you have neutrals in your switch box, we recommend our Fan Speed Smart Switch.
Pool Lights and/or Pumps| Yes, but| If it is within our current switch rating (120V 60HZ 1/4HP motor) and protected with a GFCI.
