Getting started

  • Take the device out of the box.
  • Remove all the packaging from the product.
  • Place the unit in the desired position and unwind the power cable.

Safety warning and notice

You must read and understand all the instructions before using this device. The warranty will not apply if damage is caused by failure to follow the instructions.

  1. Never remove the device casing.
  2. Never place this device on other electrical equipment.
  3. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at the plugs, sockets, and the point where it exits the device. Make sure that the power voltage corresponds to the voltage shown on the rating plate at the rear of the device. Always pull the plug from the socket when disconnecting from the mains. Never pull on the cord. Ensure you have completed all the other connections before connecting the plug.
  4. Only use attachments/accessories that are recommended by the manufacturer.
  5. Entrust all device repairs to qualified repairers. A repair is needed when the device has been damaged in any fashion, and in particular:
  6. if the power cord is damaged;
  7. in the event of a liquid spill or objects being inserted into the device;
  8. if the device is exposed to rain or humidity;
  9. if the device does not operate normally;
  10. or if the device has been dropped or impacted.
  11. The series panel is located on the bottom of the device.
  12. Never block the air vents.
  13. Ensure you have sufficient stable space around the device for ventilation.
  14. This device must be used in a moderate climate, away from direct sunlight, naked flames or heat, heating devices, cookers or any other device (including amplifiers) that generates heat. Do not install near a heat source.
  15. The batteries (battery pack or inserted batteries) must not be exposed to excessive heat, such as sunshine, fire, etc.
  16. Always unplug the device before cleaning it. Never lubricate any part of this device. Clean it with a soft cloth. Do not use abrasive products or harsh cleaners.
  17. Ensure that you always have easy access to the power cord, plug or adaptor to disconnect this appliance from the mains if necessary.
  18. Do not use this device near a water point. It must not be dripped on or splashed. Do not use this device in a damp or wet environment.
  19. Disconnect this device in the event of a storm or if you are not going to use it for a long period of time.
  20. This device can be used by children aged 8 and over, and by persons with a physical or sensory disability, learning difficulties or a lack of experience and knowledge, provided they are supervised or have received instructions on the safe use of the device, and they understand the risks involved. Children must not play with the appliance or the power cord (risk of strangulation). Children must not clean or maintain the appliance without supervision.
  21. This device must only be supplied with very low safety voltage corresponding to the marking on the device.
  22. The battery should be removed from the device before disposal. The device must be disconnected from the power supply when removing the battery.

Please observe the following instructions: Only use the power sources indicated below.

  • The lightning symbol inside an equilateral triangle warns users of the presence of
    uninsulated hazardous electric voltages inside the product that are powerful enough to present an electrocution risk.

  • The exclamation mark inside a triangle indicates the presence of important operating and maintenance (repair) instructions in the literature accompanying the appliance.

Mains supply

  • Place the device in the required position.
  • Connect the mains adapter to the product (6).
  • Then connect the mains adapter to a power socket.

Battery power

  • Remove the lid from the battery compartment (7) by sliding it downwards.
  • Insert 4 1.5 V LR6 batteries (AA/AM3) taking care to respect the polarity indicated.
  • Replace the lid (7).

Operation

  • Turn the On/Off/volume adjustment button (1) to the right to switch on the radio. You will hear a soft “click” when you switch the radio on.
  • Select the desired radio station by turning the frequency selector (2).
  • Adjust the volume using the On/Off/volume adjustment button (4).
  • To switch the radio off, turn the On/Off/volume adjustment button (1) to the left until you hear a soft “click”.
  • To improve the radio reception, extend the telescopic aerial (5) and then adjust its position, length and angle to obtain optimum reception quality.
