- : Power Switch
- : Change the weight unit between lbs. and kg.
- : Turn off/on the backlight
- : Press “TARE” to reset scale to zero.
When the weight on the tray is below 5% of the maximum capacity of the scale, pressing this key will reset the scale to zero mode. This key is also used as a TARE function when the weight on the tray is above 5%. The tare indicator will appear and the display will show zero.
- : Place the item on the scale platform. Press the “HOLD” key, the weight will remain on the display after the item has been removed from the scale so the weight can easily be read without any interference. Press the zero key to cancel the held reading and return the scale to reading zero. You may also press Hold key to exit Hold function.
DISPLAY WINDOW
: Scale is in ZERO mode

or “Lo” : Battery is at low voltage
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
- Place scale on a flat, stable surface.
- Press the button on the display (-88888).
- Wait for the display to show “0”,This may take several seconds.
- Use the button on the display to change the reading from lbs or kgs.
- Place the item to be weighed in the center of the stainless steel top. Items must have a weight of 1.1 lb. or more to register.
- Weight of item will be displayed.
- Remove item from scale.
CALIBRATION
IMPORTANT: This scale was professionally factory calibrated before shipment.
It usually does NOT need to be recalibrated before use.
However frequent users may want to calibrate the scale periodically to
maintain perfect accuracy. Incorrect calibration can occur if you do not
follow the steps exactly. You will need an accurate calibration weight to
calibrate this scale.
- Place the scale on a flat, very stable surface and turn the scale on.
- Press and hold for 2 seconds, wait for the display to show “CAL”, and then the required calibration weight will show on the LCD(ie 50.00).
- Place the required calibration weight on the tray, wait 2 seconds, then Calibration is complete when “PASS” is displayed.
NOTE: If your scale does not read accurately, this indicates calibration error & the calibration process should be repeated more slowly. Please calibrate on a very stable flat surface!
FUNCTION SETTINGS

Enter function setting mode.
From the off setting, press & hold the [TARE] button, then press the [ON/OFF] button, release both keys. The display will show “-88888”. Then the display will show A ON = Auto off enabled / A OFF = Auto off disabled. -
To Enable or Disable the Auto-off.
When the display show A ON / A OFF. Press [TARE] to toggle between the auto off settings. -
To Enable or Disable the Backlight.(Only for KD-PS)
Press [UNIT] to enter backlight setting mode. Now the display will show BON = Backlight enabled/ B OFF = Backlight disabled. Then press [TARE] to toggle between backlight on and off. -
Confirm the Setting
Press [ON/OFF] to turn the scale off and on again. Now function setting is finished.
INACCURACY/ERROR
The primary reasons for inaccuracy or malfunctions are low batteries, incorrect calibration, overload or operation on an unstable surface. This scale is a precise instrument and must be handled with the utmost care.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
IT IS IMPORTANT TO READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL OF THE INSTRUCTIONS AND SAFEGUARDS PRIOR TO USE.
- Save these instructions for future reference.
- The scale must be kept stable for accurate weighing.
- Do not drop, shock or overload the scale.
- Place items to be weighed onto the scale with care. Although the scale is designed to be durable, rough treatment may permanently damage the internal sensor.
- Items should be placed on the center of the scale when being weighed.
- Scale should be kept free of dust, dirt, moisture, vibration and not in close proximity to other electronic equipment. Any or all of these may cause an adverse effect on the reliability and accuracy of the scale.
- If “EEEE” appears on the display, then the item’s weight has exceeded the maximum capacity of the scale. Remove item immediately. Scale can be permanently damaged by overloading.
- Store scale in a cool dry place. Do not expose the scale to moisture.
- Avoid lengthy exposure to extreme heat or cold.
- Do not allow items to sit on scale platform for and extended amount of time. Doing so may have an adverse effect on the longevity and accuracy of the scale.
- Failure to follow these directions/precautions may result in damage to your scale and may void warranty.
