HOW TO INSTALL
- Screw in the bulb.
- Download the app and follow the prompts.
HOW TO SETUP
- Turn on the light by plugging it in.
- Get the LIFX app open.
- In the bottom right corner of the screen, click the icon.
- Select “New Device”
- To proceed, click the green arrow.
- Locate your light (recognizable by the last 6 digits of the serial number)
HOW TO RESET
- Cut off the LIFX Original’s power source.
- Change the position of the tiny switch on the back of the lightbulb.
- Restart the power source.
- When a reset is successful, LIFX Original will blink red, green, blue, and white.
- You must now configure.
FAQs
How long is the cleaning cycle? Overnight keeps being referenced.****
You can set it for however long you desire, but by default it’s set to 2 hours.
Does HEV also inactivate viruses or are the benefits limited to bacteria?****
HEV has only been proven to kill bacteria. Go with a UVC bulb if you want to kill both viruses and bacteria, but keep in mind that UVC is not safe considered safe for prolonged human or animal exposure.
Can you use dimmer?****
The LifX app has an option to dim the light
Does it clean when its colored****
No. Only when you start the cleaning cycle (which emits a dark blue color)
is there a certain distance the bulb should be for HEV to be effective?****
According to the maker, It Works better the closer to the object and the longer the time It runs. I put Mine in the bathroom so it’s not close to the surfaces but I let I run for a longer time.
Will it work as a regular lightbulb?****
Yes, you have all the features of a LIFX smart bulb, with an added feature: cleaning effect.
Will it harm plants or food like fruits?****
It says it’s not harmful to Animals. I didn’t find anything about plants. For food I don’t think It would be bad, on the contrary. I think It should kill bacteria on the surface of the fruit.
What is the power of the hev setting? either power from the wall or luminary flux?****
I think you mean “luminous” flux, which you would typically measure by using the CIE photometric curve and require the correct unique subtractive color glass filters installed in front of a detector. Try contacting LIFX to see if they have these values. I doubt they do however. Also, the HEV puts out 405 nm, which is still within the range of the visible light spectrum, and considered safe.
What wavelength is used by the HEV light?****
405 – 450 nm
Does this bulb include IR (Nightvision) too?****
No, that is our LIFX Nightvision bulb.
Will it work On/off by wall switch?****
Yes, it will work on an on/off wall switch. But once you turn off the light with a wall switch, you will not be able to turn it back on with the app until you turn the wall switch back on.
is it compatible with Asian countries with 220v?****
Yes. Voltage range: 100-240V.

The typical lifespan is 23,000 hours. It takes around ten years to live for a six-hour day or night.
What is the lifespan of a LIFX bulb?****
These bulbs are rated by LIFX for 40,000 hours (27 years at 4 hours per day), as opposed to 25,000 hours for TCP bulbs and 15,000 hours for Hue bulbs. LIFX bulbs have the same 16 million color options as Hue bulbs.
Can Bluetooth be used with LIFX?****
It uses Wi-Fi to connect and without a hub. The lightbulb lacks Bluetooth capabilities.
