Plastic wind-powered turbine vent for roofs
PURPOSE
Turbine vent a.k.a. nanodeflector Dalap Dorn is an aerodynamic device for
natural ventilation with the aid of wind and is installed at the output of
ventilation ducks. The device is designed for commercial, industrial and
residential buildings, cells, garage premises and other smaller enclosed
spaces without requirements for total air purification, specific air exchange
or where it is possible to range the air exchange depending on weather
conditions.
Nanodeflector Dalap Dorn uses wind energy providing air rarefaction in a
ventilation shaft and increases air exhaust intensity. Thanks to its spherical
shape, the direction of wind does not impact its functionality, it prevents
back draught and protects ventilation ducks from small dirt particles and
precipitations.
Dalap Dorn is made of high-quality ABS-plastic resistant against corrosion, UV
light and weather conditions.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Please read the instructions carefully. Pay particular attention to the operating requirements.
- Operational temperature is between -60 °C and +70 °C.
- This device cannot serve as a main ventilation source.
- This device cannot be installed at chimneys or vent duck outputs of gas-boiler equipment.
- This device is not intended to be used for air exhaust solely in the premises with specific ventilation demands, such as medical laboratories, chemical and explosion hazardous production facilities etc.
- Do not install the device at roof sloping points or other places with high water level. There may not be any water concentration.
- Do not install the pipe near the objects, which can have a negative influence on colour or proper functioning of the device.
- When mounting the devices at the roof surface, it is obligatory to follow safety rules and act with due care.
- The device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, mental capacity, or mental abilities or lack of experience or knowledge, unless they are supervised or instructed to use the device by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
MOUNTING
- Unpack the device.
- Hold the device by its base and put it at the end of ventilation duck output.
- Check with the construction level implemented in the head that the device is vertically straight.
- Fix the device to the ventilation duck with 3 pcs. 25 mm long self-tapping screws.
ATTENTION!
In order to avoid precipitation intrusion, the device must be installed over
the ventilation duct (its outer diameter).
Do not knock or press on the rotating part of the device in order to avoid
disbalancing
The device is not aimed to be installed at dynamic or movable surfaces. Check
the immobility of the surface before installation. Fasten and immobilize it if
needed.
The device is not to be installed in wind shadow areas to prevent operation
failures.
Installing the device using a at base, snow layer height is to be taken into
consideration. Nanodeflector must be installed over the average rate of the
snow layer height (depending on the region and weather area). If there’re no
special requirements, the minimum rate is considered to be no less than 300
mm.
For more information about installation on flat and sloping roofs please check
the installation schemes at the beginning of the manual:
PIC 1 – Flat roof installation
PIC 2 – Sloping roof installation
PIC 3 – Installation at wide and long ventilation ducts.
PIC 4 – Installation at narrow and long ventilation ducts
MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLE-SHOOTING
Maintenance consists in cleaning and brushing dust and small dirt particles off the device and bearings replacement (if needed)
Malfunction | Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
The device fails operating (fully or partially). | Icing of the device. |
Dismount the device and melt the icing down. Dry the device out before
installing it back.
The bearings become jammed.| Replace the bearings.
Mechanical damage (including foreign objects intrusion).| Study the device. In
case of a foreign objects inside carefully remove them trying to avoid
deformation of the device.
ATTENTION! Operation failure due to weather conditions (partial or complete absence of wind force) is not recognized as a malfunction.
The selective collection of electronic and electrical equipment
The disposal of electronic and electrical products in unsorted municipal waste is forbidden.
