  • Remove data cable by pulling it from the plug, not from the cord.

TURNING ON AND OFF

  • To turn ON, PRESS and HOLD the POWER button until the screen turns ON.
  • To turn OFF, PRESS and HOLD the POWER button until the power screen appears. Then select Power Off.
  • To restart the tablet press and hold the POWER button until the menu comes up, then select Restart.

NOTE At any time you can press the POWER BUTTON to enter Snooze mode or to wake from Snooze mode.

BATTERY CHARGING

Connect your tablet to any 5V USB charger or USB port on your computer using the supplied USB-C cable.

You will be alerted when the battery charge falls below 15%. If the battery is completely depleted your tablet will automatically turn off.

NOTE If the battery has been completely exhausted, it may take a few minutes to switch on once charging has begun. Your tablet can be used during charging however this may increase the time needed to fully charge the battery.

RUN TIME

Run time of portable devices including your tablet can be extended by reducing the screen brightness, turning off Bluetooth function, turning off the Location function, turning off Wi-Fi when not in use, turning off Apps that are not required and manually turning the screen off using the power button when not in use.

5 BUTTON TOUCH-SCREEN

Your tablet has 5 different touch screen behaviours.

SLEEP MODE

During prolonged inactive use where no buttons have been pressed, the screen will turn off automatically to conserve power. Press the POWER button to wake your tablet.

NOTE   This can be adjusted in Display option under Settings.

LOOK AND UNLOCK

When your tablet is in sleep mode, press the POWER button to show the unlock screen. Swipe up to unlock

NOTE This can be adjusted in Display option under Settings.

Tap the desired NETWORK name. If this NETWORK connects successfully, “Connected” will appear. If the NETWORK is encrypted, enter the password then tap “Connect”. Your Tablet will indicate when the NETWORK connection is ready for use when the WiFi icon appears on the top right NOTIFICATION BARLASER-

CONNECTING TO A COMPUTER VIA USB

Connect the USB cable to your Tablet and computer, making sure you are using the correct USB Type-C cable supplied.

WHY CREATE A GOOGLE ACCOUNT

Creating a Google account allows you to talk, chat, share, schedule, store, organize, collaborate, discover, and create when online. A Google account also provides user level access to Gmail and YouTube which are all backed up online and accessible via the cloud. A Google account is required to download new APPs from the Google Play Store.

GOOGLE PLAY STORE

Open the PLAY STORE APP and set up your account. If you have an existing account select EXISTING, otherwise choose NEW to create a new account and follow the set-up steps.

SETTING UP YOUR LASER TABLET FOR KIDS USE

INTRODUCING KIDS SPACE
Google Kids Space is an Android tablet experience with content to help kids discover, create, and grow. Kids can access apps, books, and videos that are targeted to their age and interests.

SETTING UP GOOGLE KIDS SPACE

  1. Open the Google Kids space APP on the Laser Android Tablet.
  2. Create a new Google Kids account or login with an already existing Google Kids account.
  3. Link the Google kids account to an already existing Google Account (if you do not have a Google account or one that can be used as a parent’s account, then you will need to set one up first.
  4. Setup permissions, accessible APPs, and content security for your child.
  5. When you have finished the setup open Google Kids Space. Your child can create their own profile. For more information and troubleshooting visit the following website: https://support.google.com/kidsspace/
    NOTE Google Kids Space provides a safe environment for your child and does not allow access to other APPs and tablet features. Your child will not be able to exit from Kids Space once the APP has started. If the tablet is turned off, then your child will only be able to access any APPs that were deemed safe during the Family Link APP setup process. To exit Google Kids Space please follow the below instructions on turning Google Kids Space off.

TURN GOOGLE KIDS SPACE OFF

  1. From the home screen in Google Kids Space, press and hold the Parent menu .
  2. Go to Parental controls > Google Kids Space > Turn off Google Kids Space.
  3. CONFIRM YOUR GOOGLE Account password to verify you’re the parent.
  4. Select Turn off Google Kids Space for this device > Turn off.

TIPS

  • If you turn on Google Kids Space later with your child’s Google Account, your child’s settings will be restored.
  • If you donot find google kids Space in the Parental Controls menu, update the Google Kids Space app to the latest version and try again.

SWITCHING USERS

After adding a kids profile or if you have multiple users you can switch users in the lock screen interface.

  1. Tap the “power” button on the side of the tablet to enter the lock screen mode.

  3. Tap and the user menu will appear.
  4. Select the corresponding user to switch profiles.

RESETING YOUR LASER ANDROID TABLET

HARDWARE FACTERY RESET

NOTE This option will delete all settings and downloaded content (including APPs) and restore your device to original factory settings:

  1. Power off your tablet first by pressing and holding the power button for approx. 10 seconds.
  2. While the tablet is off, press and hold the “Volume +” button and “Power” button for 10 sec.
  3. You will see a menu if done correctly. Use the volume up/down buttons on the tablet to navigate the menu and power button to conferm a selected option.LASER-MID-799IPS-Android-Tablet-FIG-18
  4. Select the “Wipe data/factory reset option”.
  5. Confirm the selection.
  6. A message “Data wipe complete” should appear on the bottom left corner of the screen  one finished.
  7. Select the “Power off” option and the factory reset procedure is complete.

REMOVING THE SCREEN LOCK PASWORD

  1. Power on your tablet.
  2. One tablet has finished booting up tap the volume buttons on the side of your tablet in the following order: +-++–
  3. The message “Lock Pattern clear success!!”will be displayed on the tablet screen.
  4. Tap anywhere on the screen to clear the message and the screen lock should now be removed.

FAQ



I can’t turn my tablet ON?

| 1. Ensure your tablet is charged

2. Connect the power adaptor, and then check again after suffcient charge time

3. Reset the device using the reset button

I can’t hear anything through my headset, or the sound quality is very bad

| 1. Ensure speakers are not obstructed eg. laying fat on a table

2. Please ensure volume is turned up

3. Check the music fle on another device to make sure it is not damaged

I can’t copy files or play music

| 1. Please check the connection to you computer

2. Ensure there is enough spare memory

3. Check the USB cable is not damaged using another device

4. Check the USB connection is inserted correctly

My tablet displays a network or service error message

Some applications can consume more power than others causing the tablet to become warm while in use or if used for extended amounts of time. This is normal and won’t affect the life or performance of your tablet.

PLEASE NOTE As your Tablet is an online device, changes to APPs, icons, functions and compatibility can change based on software updates either directly from Laser or the respective owners of individual programs.

WARRENTY AGAINST DEFFECTS

Laser warrants your new product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for 12 months, from the date of purchase, provided that the product is used in accordance with accompanying recommendations or Consumer Law and to other rights and remedies of the consumer under a law in relation to the goods or services to which the warranty relates. Through a network of retailers and resellers, Laser will provide you with your choice of a refund, repair, or exchange (where possible) for this product if it becomes defective within the warranty period. This warranty will no longer apply where the defect is a result of alteration, accident, misuse, abuse, normal wear and tear, neglect, or improper storage.

how to make a product warrenty claim:

  1. Find your receipt with date of purchase. If this is not available, Laser will make an assessment based on the date of manufacture, condition of the product and type of defect.
  2. Please contact your original place of purchase. They will assess the nature of the fault and refund or replace the product as per their store refund or warranty policy.
  3. If your original place of purchase cannot be contacted, please contact Laser with a description of the fault. To assist our team in providing you with a quick resolution, please include any photos and/or a short video demonstrating the fault with your product.
  4. If it is determined via troubleshooting that your product may be faulty, our team will provide instructions to have the product returned for assessment. If the product does need to be returned within the warranty period, Laser will arrange return shipping at no cost to you.
  5. Once we receive the product, our experienced technicians will assess it and determine how best to resolve the issue. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
