HILTI CA-B12 Battery Pack Charging Adapter
Safety instructions
CAUTION!
The charging adapter may only be used to charge the Hilti B12/2.6 Li-lon
battery in conjunction with the Hilti C4/36-90 and C4/36-350 chargers.
NOTE
Read the operating instructions for the battery charger used.
General safety instructions
WARNING! Read all instructions! Failure to follow all instructions listed
below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. SAVE THESE
INSTRUCTIONS.
Work area safety
- Ensure that the workplace is well lit.
- Tampering with or modification of the charging adapter is not permissible.
- Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
- Do not use the charging adapter in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Chargers can cause sparks which may ignite dust or fumes.
- Keep children and other persons away from the area while the charging adapter is in use.
Electrical safety
- The charging adapter may be used only for battery charging. Use of the charging adapter to power an electric tool is not permissible.
- Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
- Keep the charging adapter away from dampness/wetness and use it only in dry areas. Water ingress increases the risk of electric shock.
- Make sure that the terminals on the charging adapter and battery are clean and dry before inserting the battery in the charging adapter.
- Do not use the charging adapter if it is wet or dirty.
Personal safety
- Do not wear jewelry such as rings or chains. Jewelry could cause a short circuit and personal injury in the form of burns.
- Check that the battery is seated securely in the charging adapter. A falling battery may present a risk of injury to yourself and others.
- Make sure that the charger/charging adapter is standing in a steady, secure position. A falling charger/charging adapter may present a risk of injury to yourself and/or others.
- Take care to ensure that your fingers do not come between the battery and the charging adapter. There is a risk of pinching the fingers when inserting the battery into the charging adapter.
- Avoid touching the contacts.
- On reaching the end of its life, the charging adapter must be disposed of safely and in an environmentally compatible way.
- The charging adapter is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are under the supervision of a person responsible for their safety or have been given instruction by such a person on use of the charging adapter.
- Children must be instructed not to play with the charging adapter.
Careful handling and use
- Take good care of the charging adapter. Check to ensure that no parts are broken or damaged so that the charging adapter can no longer function correctly. Have damaged parts replaced before using the charging adapter.
- Keep the charging adapter away from metal objects such as paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects that could cause a short circuit between the terminals. A short circuit between the charging terminals may cause burn injuries or fire.
- Remove the battery before storing or transporting the charging adapter.
Service
Have the charging adapter serviced by a qualified repair person using only
genuine Hilti replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the
charging adapter is maintained.
