Has TiVo made the AIP, all in price, transferrable to new devices at last?****
No, and this is TiVo’s most obnoxious, patronizing policy. Really makes me rethink my decision as opposed to simply switching back to the hardware provided by the cable company, which is simpler to upgrade to new technology since I’m only renting it.
Does this gadget support Exede or HughesNet satellite services?****
I seem to remember that there have been TIVO versions that supported DirectTV, but the ones I can find on the TIVO website support over-the-air, cable, or both. I’m not aware of any Exede or HughesNet versions.

It actually works with Roku, not in instead of it. And some of its features, like Netflix and Hulu, overlap.

You’ll need a cable card. Without one, you won’t even be able to get very far with setup.

This means that you must keep trying different cards until one succeeds. After six, I gave up and sent the TiVo back.
