Safety Information
READ ENTIRE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE BEFORE YOU BEGIN!
-
CAUTION!
BURN HAZARD: Allow light to cool down prior to touching. -
CAUTION
Fixture will reliably operate between the temperatures of -20°F to 122°F. (At temperatures above 92°F, the passive infrared (PIR) sensor may not detect body heat.) -
WARNING!
Do not look directly at the LEDs for an extended period of time. They can cause eye damage. -
WARNING!
Use alkaline batteries only. Do not use carbon zinc batteries and DO NOT mix battery types. -
WARNING!
The components of this fixture are not serviceable. Attempting to alter the fixture for any reason may result in voiding the warranty and could result in creating a dangerous situation. -
ATTENTION
LEDs can be damaged by electrostatic discharge shock. To remove this hazard, touch a grounded bare metal surface to discharge yourself before installation. -
ATTENTION
Cold weather may affect the performance of the fixture. Alkaline batteries can lose voltage when temperatures are near freezing. This will affect the performance of the PIR in your fixture. The security light will perform as expected when temperatures rise.

Things to Consider Prior to Mounting
SELECT A LOCATION THAT ALLOWS THE SENSOR TO PERFORM AT ITS PEAK EFFICIENCY.
- MINIMUM MOUNTING HEIGHT: 8 FT.
- OPTIMAL MOUNTING HEIGHT: 8-10 FT.
Mounting above 10 ft. can decrease the sensor detection range.
- DO NOT mount near light sources (street lights, traffic).
- DO NOT mount on the ground.
THE FIXTURE USES A PASSIVE INFRARED (PIR) MOTION SENSOR AND AS SUCH DETECTS CHANGES IN INFRARED RADIATION OF WARM OBJECTS MOVING ACROSS THE DETECTION ZONES.
- The PIR sensor can be triggered by a variety of sources including dryer vents hot tubs, idling vehicles, etc.
- The PIR sensor CANNOT detect motion through plexiglass, plastic, or glass barriers.
- DO NOT aim the PIR toward areas with pedestrian and motorized traffic and/or other objects that generate heat.
- DO NOT mount near nighttime light sources (street lights, traffic). Light sources can cause the light to operate in daylight mode.
How to Install/Replace the Batteries
Remove Battery Compartment Cover
Remove fixture from mounting bracket. Remove all four (4) screws from the
battery compartment cover. Remove the battery compartment cover.
Insert Batteries
Insert four new alkaline D cell batteries (not included) into the battery
compartment and match the polarity marked on the back of the battery
compartment with the “+” and “-” markings.
Use alkaline batteries only. Do not use carbon zinc batteries and DO NOT mix battery type.
Re-attach Battery Compartment Cover
Re-attach the battery compartment cover by aligning the compartment cover
onto the fixture. Close the compartment cover and then re-attach the screws.
Low Battery Indicator Ligh
The red LED low battery indicator, inside the motion sensor, will light up
when the batteries are low and need replacing.
Repeat all 3 steps on this page and replace the batteries.
How to Attach the Light
-
The fixture can be mounted on masonry and wood surfaces. (see below). Masonry
Drill a 3/16 in. hole and place the masonry anchors in the pilot holes and hammer them into place until flushed with surface. Drive long screws into masonry anchor until snug.
Wood
If mounting onto a wood surface, drill a 1/16 in. hole and use the wood screws provided to secure the mounting plate. -
Line up the holes in the mounting bracket with the prepared mounting holes. Drive the screws in until the mounting plate is secure.
Finishing Up
Attach the security light to the mounting plate by positioning the security light above the mounting plate. Slide the outer tabs on the security light into the grooves of the mounting base until snug.
Adjusting the Light Heads
The individual light heads can be adjusted up/down and left/right to aim the
light heads in the direction desired.
Factory Presets
SetToGo:
The security light is PRESET at the factory with the following settings:
- Range: 40 feet Detection distance
- Time: 20 seconds (Duration) Time the light stays on after detecting motion.
If these settings are acceptable for your needs, you don’t need to do anything more with the SetToGo settings except doing the actual installation of the fixture.
The light turns on when the motion sensor detects movement. The sensor detects motion up to 40 ft. The 180-degree coverage of the motion sensor is measured side-to-side. The sensor is more effective side-to-side, rather than motion coming from the front (in and out). The fixed timer is 20 seconds – The light will stay on for 20 seconds after motion detection (only during night hours).
ATTENTION!
To change the factory SetToGo default settings, follow the instructions on the
next page.
How the Controls Work
ROTARY KNOB
- Off: Select Off to completely switch off the device.
- Auto: This is the normal Automatic motion sensing mode. The light will stay on as long as the fixture detects motion. After the fixture no longer senses motion, it will turn off after 20 seconds.
- ES: This is an energy-saving mode. When motion is detected, the light turns on at 70% brightness for 20 seconds. When the fixture no longer senses motion, it will go to 20% brightness. Then the light will turn off completely after 40 seconds.
DUSK LEARN BUTTON
The light is preset to work only after dusk. If you want the light to work at a predetermined “dusk” time, then you need to set it using the Dusk Learn button. Press the Dusk Learn button once to recalibrate the dusk level to the current light level. The motion sensor will now activate at this light level from now on. If you want the light to work day and night (regardless of the light level), push the Dusk Learn button while the fixture is outdoors during the day, or hold the fixture up to a light source and push the Dusk Learn button. Motion will turn the light on, day or night, regardless of the light level; the red LED indicator will blink twice to let you know it has reset the dusk level. To return to the default setting, push the Dusk Learn for around 3 seconds and the red LED indicator will blink twice to indicate that you have returned to the default setting.
Troubleshooting Guide
PROBLEM | POSSIBLE CAUSE | CORRECTIVE ACTION |
---|---|---|
Security light does not come on. | ||

to ensure it is closed and secured with the screw.
4. It is daylight.| 4. Light is operating as it was designed. Recheck at
night or move fixture to a darker area.
5. Movement is taking place outside of the motion sensor detection area.| 5.
Move fixture within the desired detection area.
6. Button is set to O .| 6. Set dial to “Auto” or “ES.”
Light continuously cycles ON and OFF (strobe
e ect).
| |
1. Light sensor is triggered by reflected light from the security light
itself.| 1. Change the position of the light heads, aiming light away from
the reflecting surfaces.
2. Heat is being reflected from other sources and may be triggering sensor on
and o .| 2. Remove heat source from detection zone or move fixture to new
location.
Light turns on during daylight hours.| |
1. Light may be installed in shadows/dark area.| 1. Press the Dusk Learn for
around 3 seconds to go back to factory setting.
|
Light comes on for no apparent reason.| 1. Sensor may be triggered by a small
animal or passing car.| 1. Light is operating as it was designed.
2. Hot air (dryer vent, car exhaust, etc.) may be triggering the sensor.| 2.
Remove heat source from detection zone or move fixture to new location.
Light stays on continuously at night.| 1. Motion sensor may be picking up a
continuous flow of warm air from an air vent, dryer vent, or heat reflecting o
a surface.| 1. Remove heat source from the detection zone or move the fixture
to new location.
