---|---|---
READ ENTIRE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE BEFORE YOU BEGIN!
LIGHT FIXTURE REQUIRES A 120VAC ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.
LIGHT MUST BE PROPERLY GROUNDED.
SOME REGIONAL/LOCAL CODES REQUIRE INSTALLATION BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
WARNING!
This fixture can only be installed over a recessed electrical box OR a UL-
Listed surface mount electrical box rated for wet locations. Surface mount
electrical boxes require the use of the included foam gasket, to prevent water
from seeping into the electrical box.
WARNING!
BURN HAZARD: Keep fixture’s lamp heads at least 2 in. from combustible
material.
CAUTION!
BURN HAZARD: Allow light to cool down prior to touching.
WARNING!
To avoid water damage, position light heads and sensor head in the correct
position as indicated.
ATTENTION
If the power goes out, the fixture will maintain previous settings, so there is
no need to go up the ladder to adjust once the power has been restored.
Fixture will need 20-30 seconds to warm up once turned back on.
WARNING!
Do not look directly at the LEDs for an extended period of time. They can
cause eye damage.
CAUTION
Minimum 90°C supply conductors. For fixture electrical ratings, see fixture
label.
CAUTION
Please consult a qualified electrician if you are unfamiliar with electrical
installations, or methods of properly grounding an electrical fixture.
CAUTION
Fixture will reliably operate between the temperatures of -20°F to 122°F. (At
temperatures above 92°F, the PIR may not detect body heat.)
WARNING!
The components of this fixture are not serviceable.
Attempting to alter the fixture for any reason may result in voiding the
warranty and could result in creating a dangerous situation.
ATTENTION
LEDs can be damaged by electrostatic discharge shock.
To remove this hazard, touch a grounded bare metal surface to discharge
yourself before installation.
Things to Consider Prior to Mounting
SELECT A LOCATION THAT ALLOWS THE SENSOR TO PERFORM AT ITS PEAK EFFICIENCY.
MINIMUM MOUNTING HEIGHT: 8 FT.
OPTIMAL MOUNTING HEIGHT: 8-10 FT.
Mounting above 10 ft. can decrease the sensor detection range.
DO NOT mount near light sources (street lights, traffic).
DUAL PASSIVE INFRARED (PIR) SENSOR ZONES
SENSOR ORIENTATION
THE FIXTURE USES A PASSIVE INFRARED (PIR) MOTION SENSOR AND AS SUCH DETECTS CHANGES IN INFRARED RADIATION OF WARM OBJECTS MOVING ACROSS THE DETECTION ZONES.
- The PIR sensor can be triggered by a variety of sources including dryer vents, hot tubs, idling vehicles, etc.
- The PIR sensor CANNOT detect motion through plexiglass, plastic, or glass barriers.
- DO NOT aim the PIR toward areas with pedestrian and motorized traffic and/or other objects that generate heat.
- DO NOT mount near nighttime light sources (street lights, traffic). Light sources can cause the light to operate in daylight mode.
How to Wire the Light
DANGER!
SHUT OFF POWER TO THE JUNCTION BOX BEFORE INSTALLING THE FIXTURE.
3 WAYS TO MOUNT:
Attach the mounting strap to junction box
1. Using two small or medium box screws, attach the mounting strap to the
junction box and pull the ends of the supply wires out of the junction box.
Works with most electrical boxes styles
For Surface Box Mounting ONLY:
Remove the protective liner from the gasket, align the center hole of the
gasket with that of the mounting strap, and apply the gasket to the outer edge
of the surface mounting box as shown.
2. Insert junction box wires into the electrical box connector
NOTE: Ground wires are normally a green insulated or bare copper wire.
CAUTION
WIRES MUST BE FULLY INSERTED INTO THE CONTACT HOLES.
How to Wire the Light
3. Connect the box and the fixture connector
4. Tuck the wires into the junction box
Attaching the Light
5. Fasten the mounting screw
Align the center hole of the fixture and the mounting strap. Insert the long
mounting screw and fasten it until the light is secure to the junction box.
CAUTION
DO NOT PINCH WIRES WHEN TIGHTENING DOWN.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
6. Verify light works
IMPORTANT
Verify the light switch is in the “ON” position first. During daylight hours,
it may be necessary to block the light from the sensor head by blocking the
light from it by covering it with a dark towel or sock. This will enable the
light to activate. Should the light still not turn on, refer to the wiring
section and recheck the wire connections.
7. Add the plug
IMPORTANT
AIM THE PIR SENSOR TOWARD THE INTENDED DETECTION AREA.
THE PIR CONTROL PANEL SHOULD FACE DOWNWARD TOWARD THE GROUND FOR EASY ACCESS.
How the Controls Work
The fixture has a built-in light sensor that prevents the motion sensor or
area light from activating during daylight hours. Once the power has been
turned on, the fixture needs about 20 seconds to warm up. The light will turn
off after around 20 seconds, then the light will go to the SetToGo factory
presets (50-ft. detection range, 3-min. light activation, 5000K color
temperature, and the Area Light setting will be off).
FACTORY PRESETS
SetToGo: The security light is PRESET at the factory with the following settings:
Range: 50 feet | Detection distance |
---|---|
Minutes: 3 min. (duration) | Time the light stays on after detecting motion |
Color Temp.: 5000K | Daylight white |
Area Light: OFF | See “customize settings” for other options. |
If these settings are acceptable for your needs, you don’t need to do anything
more with the SetToGo settings except to do the actual electrical installation
of the fixture.
ATTENTION!
To change the factory SetToGo default settings, follow the instructions below.
Customize Settings
SECURITY LIGHT SENSOR RANGE SETTINGS
To change the sensitivity of the PIR distance sensing, rotate the “Range” dial
the preferred setting:
5Ft: 5 feet, short range
30Ft: 30 feet, average range
60Ft: 60 feet, long range
Max.: Up to 100 feet, extra long range
Rotate the RANGE control knob to any of the marked presets: 5Ft. to Max.
(~_100 ft.). When the RANGE control knob is turned to 5Ft., the detection zone
is very tight and compact, causing the detection sensitivity to be very high.
When the RANGE control knob is turned to Max., the detection zone becomes very
broad, resulting in a low sensitivity.
VERIFYING RANGE SETTING
To confirm the set distance, perform a “walk-by test.” Walk straight across the sensor field at the approximate distance set on the RANGE control knob. IF THE TEST FAILS, try adjusting the sensor head toward the detection zone. Sensor head can be adjusted either up, down, left, or right.
SECURITY LIGHT (HIGH BEAM) TIME SETTINGS
To change the duration the light remains on after detecting motion, rotate the
“Minutes” dial to the preferred setting:
Test: ONLY use during initial set-up. “Test” allows the motion detector
to work during daylight hours to fine-tune the PIR sensitivity.
1’: Light will stay on for 1 minute after PIR detects motion.
2’: Light will stay on for 2 minutes after PIR detects motion.
5’: Light will stay on for 5 minutes after PIR detects motion.
10’: Light will stay on for 10 minutes after PIR detects motion.
IMPORTANT
THE DIAL MUST BE ROTATED AWAY FROM THE TEST SETTING FOR THE LIGHT ACTIVATION
TO WORK PROPERLY. ROTATE THE DIAL TO A POINT ANYWHERE BETWEEN THE 1’ AND 10’
SETTINGS AND THE LIGHT WILL ONLY ACTIVATE DURING NIGHTTIME HOURS.
AREA LIGHT (LOW BEAM) TIME SETTINGS
The “Area Light” feature allows the installation area to be lit during evening
hours at a lower light level (~30% intensity of the “Security Light” ) for
longer periods of time. Activating the “Area Light” will in no way cancel out
or interfere with the activation of the “Security Light.”
OFF: This completely disables the “Area Light.”
3hrs: The “Area Light” will activate at dusk for 3 hours, after which, it
will automatically turn off.
5hrs: The “Area Light” will activate at dusk for 5 hours, after which, it
will automatically turn off.
Dusk To The “Area Light” will activate at dusk and remain
Dawn: on until dawn.
IMPORTANT
THE “AREA LIGHT” CANNOT AND WILL NOT OVERRIDE THE ACTIVATION OF THE “SECURITY
LIGHT” OR ITS SETTINGS.
WHEN THE “AREA LIGHT” FEATURE IS ENABLED, IT WILL CONTINUE WITH THE SAME TIME
SETTING EACH NIGHT, UNTIL THE SETTINGS ARE CHANGED, OR THE FEATURE IS
DISABLED.
COLOR TEMPERATURE SETTINGS
To change the white color of the light, rotate the “Color Temperature” dial
to the preferred setting:
3000K Warm white
4000K Bright white
5000K Daylight white
Rotate the COLOR TEMPERATURE control knob to either 3000K, 4000K, or 5000K to set the light color.
Manual Override
To Switch To Manual Mode
To return to “AUTO” mode: Turn the switch to the OFF position for 10 seconds
and then ON.
IMPORTANT
THE SECURITY LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON UNTIL THE INTERNAL DUSK-TO-DAWN SENSOR
DETECTS THE NEXT DUSK-DAWN CYCLE. ONCE THE LIGHT IS DETECTED, IT WILL ALLOW
THE MOTION SENSOR TO RETURN TO CONTROLLING THE FIXTURE THE NEXT DAY.
IMPORTANT
MANUAL OVERRIDE ALLOWS THE LIGHT TO TURN ON AT ANY TIME, BY OVERRIDING ALL
SENSOR CONTROLS. IT ENABLES THE LIGHT TO ACTIVATE REGARDLESS OF THE TIME OF
DAY. HOWEVER, THIS PROCESS MUST BE RESET EACH DAY AFTER DUSK TO DAWN FEATURE
CYCLES THE PREVIOUS DAY’S MANUAL OVERRIDE CYCLE OFF.
Troubleshooting Guide
DANGER!
Before doing any work on the fixture, shut off power supply at the circuit
breaker panel to avoid electrical shock.
PROBLEM | POSSIBLE CAUSE | CORRECTIVE ACTION |
---|---|---|
Security light does not come on. | 1. Light switch is off. | 1. Turn light |
switch on.
2. Fuse is blown. Circuit breaker has tripped.| 2.Replace fuse. Turn the
circuit breaker back on.
3.Fixture not properly wired to J-box.| 3. Reinstall light fixture.
4. It is daylight.| 4. Recheck at night.

sensor.
6. Air temperature is about the same as a person’s body temperature and the
motion sensor cannot “see” the person.| 6. Decrease the RANGE control
setting.
Light continuously cycles ON and OFF (strobe effect).| 1. Light sensor is
triggered by reflected light from the security light itself.| 1. Change the
position of the light head and aim light away from the reflecting surfaces.
2. Heat is being reflected from other sources and may be triggering sensor on
and off.| 2. Decrease the RANGE control setting.
Light turns on during daylight hours.| 1. Light may be installed in
shadows/dark area.| 1. Light is operating as it was designed. Use manual
override if necessary.
Light comes on for no apparent reason.| 1. Sensor may be triggered by a small
animal or passing car.| 1. Decrease the RANGE control setting as necessary.
2. Hot air (dryer vent, car exhaust, etc.) may be triggering the sensor.| 2.
Increase the RANGE control setting as necessary.
Light stays on continuously at night.| 1. Motion sensor may be picking up a
continuous flow of warm air from an
air vent, dryer vent, or heat reflecting off a surface.| 1. Reposition the
motion sensor.
2. Manual override may be activated.| 2. Wait until next day for internal
dusk-to-dawn sensor to detect next dusk-dawn cycle. Once light is
detected, this will allow motion sensor to return to controlling the fixture.
