INSTALLATION
TURN POWER OFF AT BREAKER BOX/FUSE BOX. TURN WALL SWITCH TO JUNCTION BOX OFF
-
Carefully push in on the diffuser near one end and slide the diffuser into the end cap until opposite end of the diffuser clears other end cap . Remove the dif1 fuser .2
-
Align a pair of threaded holes in universal mounting bracket (AA) with mounting keyhole slots located around the center of the fixture pan. Attach fixture mounting screws (BB) into 2 of the threaded holes, leaving it extended about 3/8 in. below the ceiling line.
-
Attach mounting bracket (AA) to the electrical box, using existing electrical box screws (BB).
-
Using support chain (DD), connect one end to back of fixture pan in the specially designed slots. Hook the other end of the support chain to the electrical box to temporarily hold the fixture for wiring. From the backside of the fixture, pull the fixture wires through the center hole of the pan.
- OPTION 1:THE FIXTURE MUST BE PROPERLY GROUNDED! Connect the fixture ground wire to the ground wire from the electrical box using wire nut (CC).
- OPTION 2: If a metal electrical box is used as part of a grounded system, attach the ground wire from the back of the fixture pan with the green ground screw (GG)
and attach the grounding wire to the mounting bracket (AA).
-
Insert the black supply lead into the wire connector attached to the black fixture wires. Next, insert the white supply lead into wire connector attached to the white fixture wires. Push all excess wire back into the electrical box.
-
Remove the support chain (DD). Insert the first screw head into the longer, straight keyhole slot , slid1 e the fixture until the first screw is fully captured by the slot. Pivot the entire fixture and maneuver until the second screw head inserts into curved keyhole slot . Once the screws are fully engage2 d, maneuver the fixture into it’s desired position and tighten the screws. NOTE: Over tightening can cause the metal pan to deform and make the diffuser difficult to install.
-
DRYWALL: For added support on the outer ends, use a hand held Phillips head screwdriver to install the pre-installed ReadyAnchorTM. As the ReadyAnchor turns, it will break free from it’s plastic base. Continue turning to puncture into the drywall and tighten until the ReadyAnchor bottoms out. Do not OVERTIGHTEN. If the ReadyAnchor does not fully seat due to interference from a wooden stud, the ReadyAnchor should be removed and replaced with the wood screw (EE) and washer (FF) provided. NOTE: Being securely mounted to an electrical box is the principle means of support for the fixture. If the electrical box is not properly secured, alternative mounting methods such as toggle bolts (not included) should be used to secure fixture.
-
WOOD: Locate the 3/4 in. open holes for mounting at each end of fixture pan and drill a 3/32 in. pilot hole in the center. If a wooden stud is encountered, use the wood screws (EE) and washers (FF) provided to secure fixture directly to stud. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
-
Depress the middle of the diffuser while sliding that end 1 into the end cap. Maneuver the other end into the opposite end cap until the diffuser seats equally in each 2end cap . Restore power.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Periodically clean the fixture and diffuser using a mild, non-abrasive cleaner and soft cloth. When cleaning the fixture, make sure the power is turned off. Do not spray cleaner directly onto any part of the fixture or LEDs. Good Earth Lighting® – 5 YEAR
