1100 Series LAB Instructor LED Training

IDENTIFY SYSTEM COMPONENTS

  1. Identify the different components of a wireless system and determine if you have the correct equipment:
  • Control Panel
  • Wireless Receiver
  • External Contact
  • Wireless Transmitters
  • Wireless Keypad
  • Wireless Siren

PAIR THE WIRELESS KEYPAD

  1. Power up the panel and keypad
  2. Connect the wireless receiver
  3. If using an XT or XR Series panel, RESET the panel three times to enable wireless keypad pairing
  4. If using an XTLplus panel, the keypad will automatically pair with the panel
    Identify where to find the keypad’s serial number for manual programming

ENABLE WIRELESS ON THE PANEL

  1. Reset the panel using the RESET JUMPER
  2. Enter the panel programmer by entering 6653 (PROG) at the keypad
  3. Press CMD to navigate to SYSTEM OPTIONS and press a top-row select area
  4. Press CMD to navigate to HOUSE CODE
  5. Press a top-row select area and enter a valid HOUSE CODE from 1-50
  6. Press CMD to confirm the house code and navigate to SYSTEM OPTIONS
  7. Press CMD to navigate to STOP and press a top-row select area to save programing
    Panels with built-in wireless receivers will have a house code set by default

WIRELESS KEYPAD PROGRAMMING

  1. Enter the panel programmer by entering 6653 (PROG) at the keypad
  2. Navigate to DEVICE SETUP and press a top-row select area
  3. Enter the DEVICE NUMBER for the keypad
  4. Review programming settings and note the SERIAL NUMBER location
  5. Press CMD to exit DEVICE SETUP

PROGRAM A WIRELESS SIREN

  1. Navigate to OUTPUT SETUP and press a top-row select area

  2. Enter an OUTPUT NUMBER
    Sirens are not subject to slow or fast response differences

  3. Enter SERIAL NUMBER

  4. Verify that TRIP WITH PANEL BELL is set to YES

  5. Press CMD to exit OUTPUT SETUP
    Do not insert batteries until programing has been saved

PROGRAM A WIRELESS ZONE

  1. Navigate to ZONE INFORMATION and press a toprow select area
  2. Enter a ZONE NUMBER and press CMD
  3. Press a top-row select area and enter a ZONE NAME
  4. Press a top-row select area and select a ZONE TYPE
  5. Press a top-row select area to display a list of available areas and select the appropriate area
  6. Enter an 8-DIGIT SERIAL NUMBER and press CMD to navigate to the NEXT ZONE? prompt and select YES

PROGRAM A SECURITY REMOTE

  1. Enter a ZONE NUMBER and press CMD

  2. At the KEYFOB NO YES prompt, select YES

  3. Enter a USER NUMBER
    Default user can be assigned if no other user has been programmed

  4. Enter an 8-DIGIT SERIAL NUMBER and press CMD

  5. Select the number of buttons on this remote

  6. Program actions for each button on the remote

PERFORM A WIRELESS SURVEY

  1. Remove the wireless contact cover
  2. Press the TAMPER BUTTON on the transmitter
  3. Identify what the LED communicates about its wireless signal

WIRELESS CHECK-IN TEST

  1. At the keypad, enter 8144 (WALK) to enter the WALK TEST menu
  2. Select WLS to begin the wireless check-in test

ADD AN EXTERNAL CONTACT

  1. Enter the panel programmer by entering 6653 (PROG) at the keypad

  2. Press CMD to navigate to ZONE INFORMATION and press a top-row select area

  3. Enter a ZONE NUMBER and press CMD
    The zone number must be consecutive to the internal contact zone number

  4. Press a top-row select area and enter a ZONE NAME

  5. Press a top-row select area and select a ZONE TYPE

  6. Press a top-row select area to display a list of available areas and select the appropriate area

  7. Press CMD to navigate to the NEXT ZONE? prompt and select NO

  8. At the WIRELESS? prompt, press the right select area to set to YES

  9. Enter an 8-DIGIT SERIAL NUMBER and press CMD

  10. Press a top-row select area and choose EXT

  11. Press CMD to navigate to STOP and press a top-row select area to save programing

  12. Connect contact to screw terminals on transmitter
    A resistor is not required for the 1106 external wiring
