  • The product is only suitable for use in temperate, not tropical, climates.
  • Do not shut off the outlet side of the garden pump when it is in operation. Use, e.g., a corresponding pressure switch to switch off power supply tothe garden pump in time. The garden pump pressure must not work against the closed pressure side for more than 5 minutes to prevent damage. The water present in the garden pump will heat up even during these 5 minutes. When the pressure side is opened, hot water will escape; danger of scalding/injury!
  • Check the entire product for damage before any commissioning, e.g. damage to the casing and mains cable/plug.
If you find any damage, the product must not be used.

If the product is already connected to the mains voltage, first switch off all  contacts of the associatedmains socket by deactivating the circuit breaker or turning out fuse; thenswitch off the associated FI protection switch.
Only now unplug the garden pump mains plug from the mains socket.  Donot operate the product anymore afterwards, but take it to a specialist workshop.Never perform any repairs on your own. Always leave them to a specialist!

  • If you have reason to believe that the garden pump can no longer be operated safely, disconnect it immediately and make sure it is not unintentionally operated; pull the mains plug from the socket. It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
    • the garden pump or connection lines show visible damage
    • the garden pump no longer works
    • the garden pump has been transported or stored under difficult circumstances
    • there has been heavy stress during transport.
  • Always disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket when youare no longer using the product, for troubleshooting or for cleaning/maintenance.
  • Never pull the mains plug from the mains socket by pulling the cable. Always pull the mains plug from the mains socket by the lateral grip areas. Never touch the mains plug with wet or damp hands; danger to life from electric shock!
  • Only transport the product at the carry handle but never at the mains cable or hose.
  • If the product is brought from a cold into a warm room (e.g. for transport), it is possible that condensation will develop. This causes danger to life from electric shock!
Therefore, you should allow the product to warm up to room/ambience temperature before using it or connecting it to the mains voltage. This may take several hours.

Control Elements

OVERVIEW

  1. Opening for filling of the garden pump (for intake process)
  2. Outlet opening
  3. Carrying handle
  4. Intake opening
  5. Opening to empty the garden pump (for storage/cleaning)
  6. Support
  7. Mains cable with IP44 protective contact mains plug
  8. On/off switch („I“ = on, „O“ = off)

Placement of the Garden Pump

  • The garden pump can be installed and operated, e.g. near a well on your property or a rain water cistern.

  • Put up the garden pump in a flat, level, stable and sufficiently sized area. Protect sensitive surfaces from scratches, pressure points and any escaping water with a suitable pad.
The garden pump always must be operated standing on the bottom, and never in any other operating positions.
Never place the garden pump in or under water; there is a danger to life from electric shock! Never place the garden pump in an area that may be flooded.

  • For outdoor temperatures at or below 0 °C, the water in the garden pump will freeze and destroy it. Therefore, empty the garden pump in time. For this, remove all hoses from the garden pump and empty the garden pump by turning out the closure cap at the bottom. Store the garden pump dry and frost-free (e.g. in a basement).

  • Carry or move the garden pump only via the stable carrying handle on the upper side.
The garden pump must never be held or transported via the mains cable or a hose! This may damage the mains cable; there is danger to life from electric shock!

Commissioning

  • Switch off the garden pump.

  • If you have not done so yet, connect the suction hose to the intake opening. Use a suitable coarse filter and a backflow stop at the end of the suction hose.
For an easier and faster suction process, fill the hose and garden pump with clean water; this applies specifically for larger suction heights. To fill the garden pump more easily with the hoses connected, the top has a corresponding filling opening. Close this carefully after filling. Turn in the closure plug. Also check if the closure lug for the emptying opening is tightened.

  • Connect, a suitable hose or, e.g., your garden watering system, to the outlet opening.

  • Plug the mains plug into a proper mains socket with a protective ground contact.
The mains plug must only be plugged into the mains socket when dry. Never touch the mains plug with wet or damp hands! There is danger to life from electric shock otherwise!

  • Then switch on the garden pump (Switch position „I“). The garden pump starts to work now. If the suction hose and the garden pump were filled with water as described above, the garden pump should convey water at the outlet side after a few seconds. Open the connected spray, shower, watering rod or sprinkler so that air can escape and water can be conveyed.

  • The garden pump is cooled at the same time as water is conveyed. Nevertheless, the garden pump is not suitable for continuous operation. We recommend switching off the garden pump after no more than 60 minutes and to let it cool off entirely before it is reused.
If no water is conveyed, there is still air in the garden pump and the hose. If no water is conveyed after as much as one minute, switch off the garden pump. Insert a backflow stop at the end of the suction hose (e.g. in a well). This facilitates the suction process Nspecifically at higher overheads.Fill the suction hose and the garden pump with clear water and restart pumping.

  • To switch off the garden pump, put the on/off switch to the position „O“

Decommissioning

If the garden pump is to be disconnected from the hose (e.g. for cleaning, maintenance or storage in winter), proceed as follows:

  • Switch off the garden pump. Disconnect the garden pump from the power supply, pull the mains plug from the mains socket.

  •  Disconnect the connected hoses from the garden pump.

  • Let residual water run out of the garden pump by holding it diagonally. The closure plug for the emptying opening can also be turned out to empty.

  • Dry the garden pump and the mains cable. Coil up the mains cable.

  • Store the garden pump in a frost-protected and dry room.
Also consider emptying the hoses placed outdoors to prevent frost damage; open any water taps that may be installed.

  • Carry or transport the garden pump only by the carry handle. Never hold it by the hose or even the mains cable.

  • After operation or emptying, a small amount of water may remain in the  garden pump. Therefore, a suitable supportmust be used to protect from water stains or other damage for storage or transport in a vehicle.

Maintenance and Cleaning

The garden pump has no parts that require maintenance by you. Therefore, never open or disassemble it. Maintenance or repair and disassembly of the garden pump in this context must only be performed by a specialist or specialist workshop. Before cleaning, switch off the garden pump and disconnect it from the mains voltage; pull the mains plug from the mains socket. The garden pump can be cleaned with a clean, soft cloth that was moistened with water. The inside of the garden pump can be flushed with clear water. Remove the hoses and the closure plugs first. Dry the garden pump and the mains cable before storing it.
Never use any aggressive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions, since these may damage the casing or even impair function.

Troubleshooting

With this garden pump, you purchased a product built to the state of the art and operationally safe. Nevertheless, problems or errors may occur. Therefore, observe the following information about troubleshooting.

Garden pump does not take in water

  • Open any present shut-off valve on the pressure-side, since air cannot escape from the hose or in the garden pump.
  • If required, fill water into the suction hose and the garden pump.
  •  Switch off the garden pump and switch if on again after a few seconds.
  • Use a backflow stop at the end of the suction hose.
  • Check a coarse filter at the end of the suction hose for contamination.
  • Check the suction hose and all connection pieces for leaks.
  • The water level is too low or air is sucked in as well.

The garden pump does not start up or stops in operation

  • Is the garden pump on?
  • Check the power supply or the circuit protection and the FI protection switch. If the FI protection switch has triggered, disconnect the garden pump from the mains voltage and check for damage (e.g. mains cable/housing).
  • The pump wheel inside the garden pump is blocked by dirt. Disconnect the garden pump from the mains, remove the hoses and the closure plugs and flush the inside of the garden pump with clean water.
  • The overtemperature protection triggered. Disconnect the garden pump from the mains voltage and let the garden pump cool off (at least 30 minutes). Remove the cause for triggering (e.g. water temperature too high, running dry too long, etc.)

Conveyed volume reduces or is too low

  • Check the suction hose or its coarse filter for contamination.
  • Clean the water filter of the garden pump.
  • The garden pump sucks in air since the suction hose is not in the water.
  • Check the attachment of the suction hose to the garden pump.
  • Check the suction hose for leaks or bends.
  • The displacement reduces due to the principle the larger the overhead and conveyor height.
  • The hose diameter of the suction hose is too low.
