IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including the following:
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE
- Use iron only for its intended use.
- To protect against risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids.
- The fabric select dial and steam lever should always be turned to “Off” before plugging or unplugging from outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead, grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
- Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around iron when storing.
- Always disconnect iron from electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying and when not in use.
- Do not operate iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron. Take it to an authorized service center for examination and/or repair. Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric shock when the iron is used.
- Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Do not leave iron unattended while plugged in or turned on or on an ironing board.
- Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water or steam. Use caution when you turn a steam iron upside down – there may be hot water in the reservoir.
- If the iron is not operating normally, disconnect from the power supply and have the iron serviced by an authorized service center. Or call Customer Service at 800-458-8407.
- Your SUNBEAM® iron is designed to rest on the heel rest. Do not leave the iron unattended. Do not set the iron on an unprotected surface, even if it is on its heel rest.
- To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high wattage appliance on the same circuit.
- If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 15-ampere cord should be used. Cords rated for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.

FAQs
What are the shortcomings of the Sunbeam 32610031 steam iron?****
Because steam irons need to be refilled more frequently and don’t produce as much heat as steam generators or other steaming systems, it might take some time to iron your fabrics with one.
What is the typical lifespan of a Sunbeam 32610031 steam iron?****
Even the most expensive steam irons should last between 10 and 20 years. However, there’s a good chance that technology will advance significantly over the next 20 years, so you might decide to upgrade before your iron reaches the end of its useful life.
What happens if you use a Sunbeam 32610031 steam iron without any water?****
Yes. Simply unplug your steam iron, allow it to cool, and then empty the water tank to drain the water. Choose the dry/steam setting if your iron has one; otherwise, choose “MIN.” Choose the dry/steam setting if your iron has one.
Are steam irons like the Sunbeam 32610031 energy-intensive?****
An iron with steam or a flat surface uses roughly 800-2000 watts per day. For instance, your iron will use about 5 kWh of electricity if you leave it on for 10 minutes each day for a month. Despite being one of the appliances with the highest rates of electricity usage, you can calculate the precise amount of electricity that your model uses.
What benefits come with a Sunbeam 32610031 steam iron?****
The best tool for giving your clothes a perfectly pressed look and feel is a steam iron. Your clothing’s fibres become moistened by the iron’s steam, which makes pressing simpler. The steam also keeps the fibres in place for a longer period of time.
What kind of water works best with Sunbeam 32610031 steam irons?****
Use distilled or demineralized water in order to increase the lifespan of your iron or steamer (50 percent tap water and 50 percent demineralized water could also be used).
How do you clean a Sunbeam 32610031 steam iron water tank?****
- Pour warm water into the water tank halfway, then give it a gentle shake.
- Empty it and give it a thorough water wash (do not use detergent). Note: If water is left in the tank of your iron for a long time, algae may develop there. If you regularly empty the water tank on your Philips steam iron, algae or residue won’t grow.
What is the ideal wattage for a Sunbeam 32610031 steam iron?****
Each iron we suggest has a power output of at least 1,500 watts, which is adequate for the job. According to my testing, low-wattage irons don’t generate enough heat or steam to remove stubborn wrinkles.
How long does a Sunbeam 32610031 steam iron take to heat up?****
Your iron will typically heat up in two minutes. You can tell when your iron has reached the right temperature for the fabric type you chose by looking at the “Wait” and “Ready” indicators.
What’s the best way to clean the base of a Sunbeam 32610031 steam iron?****
Simply create a paste by mixing some baking soda with some water. The soleplate of the iron should then be scrubbed with this paste using a soft brush or towel. Simply wipe it away with water.
How do you clean a burnt Sunbeam 32610031 steam iron?****
Rub the soleplate with a clean microfiber cloth dipped in a paste created from equal parts vinegar and baking soda. Use a clean microfiber cloth dipped in distilled water to completely remove any remaining paste if it is still there (especially important if your water is hard).
Why does my Sunbeam 32610031 steam iron leak brown material?****
If the iron leaves brown water stains on the clothing when using steam, the reservoir needs to be cleaned. Fill the reservoir back up with 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar and 3/4 cup distilled water after it has been completely emptied.
How often should you clean your Sunbeam 32610031 steam iron?****
Every one to two months, descale your iron as advised. Regular cleanings will remove all calcium particles from your iron, improving its performance and lengthening its life.
Can you use a Sunbeam 32610031 steam iron to remove stains?****
Use your iron’s highest steam setting, apply it directly to the towel, and pass it over the stain back and forth for about ten seconds. The iron might hiss and release steam as you do this. You should now be able to see the stain on the towel if you lift it up and inspect it without using the iron.
Can I use a Sunbeam 32610031 steam iron to remove wrinkles?****
The fabric is typically misted with steam droplets or moisture during the steam ironing process to make it moist so that wrinkles can be removed more quickly. Materials like cotton, linen, muslin, and denim respond best to steam ironing.
