ATTACHING RFID TAGS ON APPAREL:
SimplyRFID offers TI hangtag that works with apparel. There are two ways to
put this type of RFID tag on clothes. Some fabrics work with or need a tagging
gun, but if you don’t have that tool, there are also alternative options you
can do.
This is how you put tags on clothes with a string that you can use with the
TI hangtag.
- Pull the string through the hang tag’s hole and make a loop after.
- Fold the string in half and tie the closed-end through the hang tag to secure the knot.
- Pull the open end of the string through the loop at the opposite end.
- Knot the string around the strap, clothing, or care label on the garment. You can also tie the string through a buttonhole.
Note: If your item doesn’t have a care tag or clothing label, gently punch a tiny hole in an inconspicuous side of the clothing, so it’s less susceptible to damage and not visible.
The other way to attach hang tags is if you have a tagging gun and a
plastic barb.
Tagging gun will be handy when putting tags on delicate fabrics such as
bras and underwear.
- Load the tagging barbs into the tagging gun.
- Slip the hang tag over the needle. Ensure the front of the hang tag faces the tagging gun, so your label and other information printed on the RFID tag are visible.
- Choose where you want to attach the hang tag.
- Insert the tagging gun’s needle into the fabric and hold the garment in place.
- Engage the plastic wire by squeezing your tagging gun’s trigger.
Apply the tag through the side seams of the clothing so there won’t be visible
hole marks in the clothing item’s fabric.| Underwear: Put the tag on the
wearer’s left side at
the waistband seam.| Bra: Tack the hang tag through the main/care label
near the hook band
Note: You can do the same steps even without a tagging gun and barb by
replacing the gun with a safety pin and using a string as a barb to attach the
TI hang tag.
Make sure that your placing of the tags is consistent so it would be easier
to find where the tag is, and staff/customers will know where to look.
