SIMPLYRFID RFID Tags for Inventory and Asset Tracking

How do you put RFID Tags for Different Types of Jewelry?

There are a lot of different types of jewelry with different sizes, materials used, and pricing. So some might be confused about how you put the RFID tags on these items because there’s just simply a wide range of variety. There are a lot of different ways to do this but the technique we’re about to discuss will help you save a lot of time and effort. So don’t worry, you’re about to know the easy and right way to tag RFID, the SimplyRFID way!
You might be reluctant to believe it but there are only three steps to do this!

Categorize

First, you need to identify how the jewelry is packaged with respect to the only three options below.

1. No packaging
   If the jewelry is just displayed as is then we will categorize it as Jewelry with No Packaging. Next, go to Step Two and look for the section for Jewelry with No Packaging

2. Display Cards/ Cardboards
   If the jewelry is inserted into cardboard or display cards before being displayed then we will categorize it as Jewelry with Tags. Next, go to Step Two and look for the section for Jewelry with Tags

3. Box
   If the jewelry is inserted into a box or container before being displayed then we will categorize it as Jewelry with a Casing. Next, go to Step Two and look for the section for Jewelry with a Casing.

Put the RFID Tag

The second step is to place the RFID Tag. Depending on how the jewelry was packaged and displayed, there will be different ways how to put the tag.

1. Jewelry with No Packaging
   Use the Jewelry RFID Loop (JT) and place it on the jewelry. The Jewelry RFID Loop is a peel-on sticker that you’re going to loop inside the jewelry. It loops around the jewelry and locks it in place.

2. Jewelry with Tags
   Use the TR300 tag and place it on the back of the cardboard/display card. Avoid placing it on top of any product details like price, materials used, and size. The TR300 is designed for micro-retail applications so it is a sticker tag. Simply peel and stick

3. Jewelry with a Casing
   Use the TR800 tag and place it on the portion of the casing not blocking the view of customers to the actual product for sale. This can be at the back or on thebottom of the casing. The TR800 is designed for most retail applications with ticket tag size printable areas so it is a sticker tag. Simply peel and stick!

Tag Them!

• The final step is to tag your items. Grab your iPhone and your handheld (a.k.a. CS108 Reader). Mount your iPhone on top of the handheld. There is a phone holder there for you to secure your device. It will be safe there while we do a lot of action later. Make sure to hold the handheld with your dominant hand.

• Open the Wave app you installed from the AppStore. Allow the Wave app to use your device’s BlueTooth. After that select the handheld you’re going to connect to on the list displayed on your device’s screen. Once you got your device connected to the handheld, allow the Wave app to use your device’s location services.

• At this point, the app will look for a QR Code. You’ll receive that one through  email. The email should be coming from our awesome client support team andwill have the @simplyrfid.com on their email. Once you open the email we sent you, it’s time to scan it. Aim the handheld in front of the QR code. Squeeze the trigger using your index finger and the handheld should shoot out red light. Point that red light on the QR code

• After the app process your data, you’re now in the Wave app. Move to the Quick Tag screen by tapping it on the app. It’s located near the lower-left corner of the app. Once you are on the Quick Tag screen, select a location you want your items to be inventoried. • If your POGI is set up, we can now continue with tagging. Place the items you want to add to your inventory in front of you. Make sure to scan your items by batch. Each batch should have each its own SKU/UPC.

• You can pre-print information and pre-encode the RFID Tag so it will be “personalized” for your shop! Contact our team, so we can assist you with the personalized tags your business needs.
