Safety and Warnings

Installation and service
CAUTION!
Risk of physical injury and material damage if used incorrectly!

  • The equipment contains no user serviceable components. Installation and maintenance of the equipment must only be carried out by trained and authorized personnel.
  • This scale is not built for high humidity, wet or corrosive applications. Keep away from liquids and use in a dry environment only. If liquid enters the junction box compartment, immediately open the cover, soak up any excess water and let air dry or use a hair dryer.
  • Allow sufficient warm up time for scale to stabilize before weighing.
  • Avoid extended exposure to extreme heat or cold. Use and store the scale in a dry environment with temperatures in the range of 5 – 35 °C.
  • Electronic scales are precision instruments. Do not operate near cell phones, radios, computers or other electronic devices that emit radio frequencies that may cause unstable readings.
  • Record the weight shortly after placing a load on the platter. Leaving loads in place for extended periods may vary the loadcell output signature and may result in a less accurate reading.
  • If the scale is stored for an extended period of time, batteries must be removed to avoid leakage.
If the indicator displays low battery, the batteries must be replaced.

Electrical installation
The mains lead must be connected to a supply outlet with a protective earth contact. The electrical supply at the socket outlet must provide over current protection of an appropriate rating. For your protection all mains equipment used out of doors or in wet or damp conditions should be supplied from a correctly fused source and protected by an approved ground fault protection device (RCD, GFCI etc.). If in doubt seek advice from a qualified electrician.
Routine maintenance
To avoid the possibility of electric shock or damage to the machine, always switch off the machine and isolate from the power supply before carrying out any routine maintenance. To avoid the risk of the machine falling, where applicable, ensure that it is placed securely on a flat and level surface.
Cleaning
Do not clean the scale with running water or a high pressure hose.
Use ONLY a wet cloth to clean the scale.

Operation

Power up the Indicator

  1. Either install 4 AAA alkaline batteries (PS 1000/2000) or a 6V4AH lead acid battery (PS 3000) into the battery compartment of the indicator or plug the AC adapter into the indicator.
  2. Turn the indicator on or off with the [ON/OFF/ZERO] key.

Zero Operation
When the weight is stable and within the zero range, press the [ON/OFF/ZERO] key to set a new zero point.
Tare Operation
When the gross weight is larger than zero and the scale is stable, press the [TARE] key. The indicator will show a net weight of zero and the NET annunciator will be illuminated.
To clear the Tare weight, remove any weight on platform and wait until the scale is stable. Press the [TARE] key.
Change Unit
Press and hold the [UNIT] key to select kg or lb.
Hold Mode
It is possible to weigh restless weighing samples such as live animals or moving objects within the hold function. The indicator provides special mode settings to accommodate weight movements.

  1. Press the [HOLD/PRINT] key.

  2. Place weight on the scale base. The Hold annunciator will blink until the weight stabilizes.
Once the Hold annunciator is solid, the weight should be locked on the display.

  3. Remove the weight. The previous weight should remain on the display.

  4. Go on with step 2 or 5.

  5. Press the [HOLD/PRINT] key to exit the Hold mode.
