The following operating instructions will guide you during the commissioning and use of your Comet Aqua and answer all essential questions. Please read these operating instructions carefully before using your Comet Aqua.

SAFETY NOTICE! This signal word describes circumstances that can pose a safety risk.

• Comet Aqua is made for outdoor use. Do not use indoors.
• Comet Aqua is intended for private use in the garden, for controlling irrigation systems and sprinklers.
• The Comet Aqua water computer must not be used in industrial applications or in connection with chemicals, food, easily combustible and explosive substances.
• Only operate Comet Aqua as described in the operating instructions
• Do not continue to operate the device if it shows obvious damage.
• Comet Aqua may not be converted, modified or opened.
• For reasons of functional safety, only use1.5V alkaline manganese batteries (alkaline) type AA LR6.
• To prevent the watering computer from failing due to a weak battery if you are away for a long time, the battery must be replaced when the battery symbol flashes.
• The water computer may only be mounted vertically with the union nut upwards to prevent water from entering the housing.
• The minimum water delivery quantity for a reliable switching function of the water computer is 20 – 30 l/h
• The temperature of the water flowing through must not exceed 40 °C.
• Only use clear fresh water.
• The minimum operating pressure is 0.5 bar, the maximum operating pressure is 12 bar.
• Avoid tensile loads.
• Do not pull on the connected hose.
• For safety reasons, children and young people under the age of 16 and people who are not familiar with these operating instructions are not allowed to use this product. Persons with restricted physical or mental abilities may only use the product while being supervised or instructed by a competent person. Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the product.

• Do not heat batteries and do not throw batteries into open fire.
• Do not place batteries in direct sunlight.
• Protect batteries from excessive heat.
• Do not short-circuit the batteries.
• Never try to charge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Never disassemble batteries.

• If you come into contact with battery acid, immediately rinse the affected areas with plenty of clear water and consult a doctor.

• This product generates an electromagnetic field during operation. This field can affect the functionality of active and passive medical implants under certain conditions. In order to rule out damage to health, persons with the above-mentioned implants should consult their doctor and the manufacturer of the implant before using this product.
• If children play with the automatic watering device or the packaging, they can swallow small parts and suffocate.
• Do not let children play with the watering device or the packaging.
• Keep batteries away from children. Consult a doctor immediately if batteries are swallowed.

INTRODUCTION

With the Comet Aqua watering computer, the garden can be watered fully automatically at any desired time of day. The Comet Aqua can be used as a control unit for sprinklers, a sprinkler system or a  drip irrigation system. With the free Smart Garden app, you can create schedules for your irrigation. Operation and programming is quick and easy to understand thanks to the simply designed user interfaces. regardless of this, the Comet Aqua can be switched on and off manually with a touch on the power button.
WiFi technology allows you to stay in control even when you‘re not at home. So you can react to the weather conditions at home even when you‘re on vacation and carry out your watering accordingly –  not least to save valuable water. Your advantage when setting up the Comet Aqua is that you only need a WiFi network at home, without an additional gateway. The automatic watering device is operated with 4 AA batteries and offers a cable-free installation.
To use the Smart Garden App and all of its functions, prior online registration is required by setting up a user account. As usual in this context, simply register with an e-mail address and a password.  You are therefore in possession of the access rights to control your Comet Aqua. The development and production are 100% “Made in Germany“, which guarantees the highest quality and solid techno- logy. These operating instructions will help you to put your device into operation quickly and easily.

CONTROL AND DISPLAY ELEMENTS

PAIRING MODUS AND FACTORY RESET:
To activate the pairing mode, press the power button on your Comet Aqua for around 20 seconds.
Meanwhile, the LED on the power button and on the battery symbol lights up green.
The LED on the WiFi icon flashes red during this time. As soon as this LED flashes green, the device is back in pairing mode.

INSTALLATION AND START-UP

The following explanations describe the procedure using an Android app and may differ slightly for Apple. In addition, the screenshots shown may differ from newer app versions.
6.1 DOWNLOAD APP
1. Download the “WiFi Smart Garden“ app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

6.2 CREATE USER ACCOUNT

6.3 ADD NEW DEVICE

6.4 CHOOSE WIFI NETWORK

NOTICE:
Comet Aqua can only be integrated into 2.4 GHz WiFi networks. Connection and communication problems can occur in mixed networks that transmit on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
6.5 INSERT BATTERIES 6.6 SET UP COMET AQUA

IMPORTANT HINT: After you have connected to your Comet Aqua in the WiFi settings, do not be confused by information such as “not connected to the Internet“.
The WiFi network temporarily generated by the Comet Aqua is not compared- ble to your WiFi network at home, as it is a WiFi that is only necessary for the pairing mode. This  WiFi has no Internet access. Despite the message displayed, remain connected to the device and return to the app to complete the learning process.
6.6 SET UP COMET AQUA

NOTICE: If the integration is not completed, temporarily deactivate the mobile data of your smartphone during the learning process. Also, make sure that your smartphone‘s location data is enabled and that you have granted location access to the app.
6.7 MOUNTING AT WATER TAP

NOTICE: If there are problems with the storage, switch to the WiFi settings on your smartphone and reconnect to your home WiFi network. The problem may be that your smartphone has not automatically disconnected from the Comet Aqua. If you then return to the WiFi Smart Garden app, the storage can be completed without any problems.

DISASSEMBLY

Please close the water tap, before you unscrew the device!

COMET AQUA APP

8.1 MANUEL IRRIGATION

NOTICE:
The maximum irrigation time is limited to 120 minutes.

8.2 IRRIGATION SCHEDULES
You can create schedules to water your plants automatically. At the times you specify, the Comet Aqua will automatically start watering. The start time and the duration of the watering can be set.
1. Select the “Time Schedules“ menu item in the footer of your Smart Garden app

8.3 SETTINGS This page of the app also gives you information about:

1. Battery level
2. Strength of your WiFi signal at the device location
3. Device software versions
4. Name of the WiFi network to which your device is connected.
5. Information about your MAC address (this information may be useful if you ever contact our technical support service).

8.4 DELETE A DEVICE

NOTICE:
If you reset a device by pressing a button (power button) for 10 seconds, the icon of the device in the app is not automatically deleted. Remove the symbol as described under point 8.4 / 3.

NOTICE:
Leave your smartphone with opened “Smart Garden App“ during the software update. Do not activate the key lock of your smartphone.

MAIN FUNCTIONS

ACTIVATED TIME PROFILE::
If you activate a watering profile/schedule in the app, the Comet Aqua will water according to the set schedule. You can still intervene in the watering and make changes at any time (via the app or directly on the device). The current action of the set schedule is thus interrupted. The other set actions of the schedule, at a later point in time, are then carried out again as programmed. If you turn on the water tap to which the device is connected, the device will still open/close the valve at the set switching times. The device also works when there is no water flow.
FURTHER FUNCTIONS
FROST WARNING:
You will receive a warning message from near-frost temperatures of less than 5°C – 9°C. To do this, you must activate the function in the app under the heading “Notification“.
SWITCH ON LOCK:
To protect your device from being used unintentionally, you can set a switch- on lock on the Comet Aqua. You can activate/deactivate the key lock in the app under the menu item “Settings“. However, the device can be switched off manually at any time using the power button.
MANUEL CONTROL:
The device can be switched on and off manually at any time, using the power button on the Comet Aqua.
PAIRING MODUS AND FACTORY RESET:
To activate the pairing mode, press the power button on your Comet Aqua for around 15 seconds.
Meanwhile, the LEDs beside the power button and on the battery symbol light up green.
The LED beside the WiFi icon flashes red during this time. As soon as this LED flashes green, the device is back in pairing mode.

The app does not show a WiFi network under “My WiFi network“.| | – Check whether your WiFi network operates on 2.4 GHz, as Comet Aqua can only be integrated into a 2.4 GHz WiFi network. This can be viewed in the settings of your WiFi router and changed if necessary.
– Activate the location permission of your smartphone.
– Allow location access for Eurotronic Smart Garden App. In the “Apps“ area in your smartphone settings, you can grant the “Smart Garden“ app location access again while using the app.
Error C1 – LED on WiFi symbol flashes red| 1.) WiFi password was not entered correctly in the app.
2.) WiFi signal strength is too low.| 1.) Delete your Comet Aqua from the app and restart the pairing mode.
2.) Take appropriate measures to improve the WiFi signal strength of your home network.
Error C2 – LED on the WiFi symbol continuously flashes red twice| 1.) WiFi password has been changed.
2.) Demolition of the existing radio connection.
3.) The WiFi connection that was set up was temporarily interrupted (e.g. power failure, network cable)| 1.) Your Comet Aqua must be reconnected to the WiFi network (by entering the new WiFi password).
2.) Take appropriate measures to improve the WiFi signal strength of your home network.
3) Check e.g. your power supply and your net-work cable.
Error C3 – LED on the WiFisymbol continuously flashes red 3x| WiFi connection without internet access.| Check your internet connection.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

RISK OF DAMAGE! Improper handling of the automatic watering device can lead to damage. Do not immerse the device in water or other liquids.
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, brushes with metal or nylon bristles, or sharp or metallic cleaning objects such as knives, hard spatulas, and the like. These can damage the surfaces. Clean the device with a soft, dry cloth.
Turn off the device and remove the batteries if you will not be using the device for a long period of time. Store the device in a dry, dust-free place, protected from sunlight.

 WARRANTY

The guarantee period is 24 months and begins on the day of purchase. Keep the receipt as proof of purchase. During the warranty period, defective devices can be sent to the service address with sufficient postage. You will then get a new or repaired device back free of charge. Repairing or replacing the device does not start a new warranty period. Plea- se note that we only guarantee the functions of the device, not the functionality between the interaction of the watering device and downstream devices such as sprinklers. The guarantee service relates to all defects in the device. which are due to manufacturing defects or material defects.
After the warranty period has expired, you also have the option of sending the defective device to the specified address with sufficient postage for repair. Any repairs required after the warranty period has expired are subject to a charge. Your statutory rights are not limited by this warranty.
