Introduction

This battery, for use exclusively in Nikon digital cameras, can be charged repeatedly in a dedicated battery charger. Before use, read these instructions and the manuals provided with the camera and charger. Fully charge the battery before first use and attach the supplied terminal cover when the battery is not in use.

WARNINGS:
Failure to observe the following precautions could result in injury or death.

  • Do not short or disassemble the battery, expose it to physical shocks, flame, or excessive heat, or immerse it in or expose it to water.
  • Do not step on batteries, pierce them with nails, or strike them with hammers.
  • Use the battery only with equipment for which it has been approved.
  • Cease charging if the battery does not charge.
  • Keep out of reach of children. Small parts constitute a choking hazard: should a child swallow any part of this equipment, consult a physician immediately.
  • Avoid contact with liquid from a leaking battery; should the liquid enter your eyes, immediately rinse them with clean water and consult a physician.
  • Should you notice any changes in the battery, such as discoloration, deformation, or unusual smells, cease use immediately and contact a Nikon-authorized service representative.
  • Do not transport or store with metal objects such as necklaces or hairpins.
  • Keep batteries out of reach of household pets and other animals.

CAUTIONS: Failure to observe the following precautions could result in injury.

  •  Store the battery in a cool, dry place; do not store in locations subject to extreme heat (such as in direct sunlight or in an enclosed vehicle on a sunny day).
  • Should liquid from a leaking battery come into contact with your clothes or skin, immediately rinse the affected area with clean water.
  • Use at temperatures below O °C (32 °F) or above 40 °c (104 °F) may cause malfunction or impair battery performance.
  • When batteries are no longer needed, insulate the terminals with tape.
Recycling Rechargeable Batteries

Recycle rechargeable batteries in accord with local regulations, being sure to first insulate the terminals with tape.
