Before operating this product, please read the instructions carefully, and keep this manual and the warranty certificate for future use.

Safety Precautions

The following explanations are provided for the items you should know to prevent personal injuries and property damage to the users and other people.

WARNING
This sign warns of the risk of death or serious injury. This pictogram indicates a “Restricted” type of act.

CAUTION
This sign warns of injury or damage to property. This pictogram indicates a “Necessary” item to be performed.

WARNING

  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Always lay down the drain hose while using the unit. Always unplug the unit after usage.

CAUTION

  • When any abnormality/failure occurs, stop using the product immediately and disconnect the power plug. (Risk of smoke/fire/electric shock)

    • Water or foreign objects have accidentally entered the electrical parts of the washing machine.
    • Burnt odor or abnormal noise is detected during operation.
    • The clothes are thrown off Spintub and become trapped in the Outer tub.
    • The supply cord is damaged or needs to be replaced.
      Contact your nearest Panasonic Authorized Service Center (PASC) IMMEDIATELY.
  • Do not place any lighted candle or any light source (lamp, lighted cigarette, etc.) on top, inside or near the unit. (These light source are fire hazard)

  • Do not allow water to come in contact with all electrical parts. (You may risk electric shock.

  • Do not use hot water over 50 (Plastic parts might be deformed.)

  • Do not allow the cord to be pinched by the unit or by heavy objects.

  • Do not expose the unit directly on sunlight to prevent fading of color and deformation of plastic parts.

  • Do not open the inner lid until the Spin Tub has come to a complete stop, your finger might get caught by the rotating Spin Tub.

  • Always use Spinner Cap when spinning to avoid throwing out of clothes.

  • Do not attempt to repair or reconstruct the unit in case of trouble. (Refer first to section seven (7) of this manual or contact PASC for assistance.)

  • Do not exert or apply too much force on the wash timer.

  • Do not pull the plug with wet hands.

  • Do not pull the plug by pulling the cord.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION

  • Do not place on carpets or rugs.
  • Do not install on a weak or rough floor.
  • Do not place your unit on direct sunlight, humid area like bathroom and places exposed to rain.
  • Do not place unit near open flame.
  • Place the unit on a level floor and a well-ventilated place.
  • Please remove all packaging materials before using the washing machine.

Hose Hanger

  • How to Insert:
1. Insert the square slot of the Hose Hanger into one of the Hose Hanger holder located on both sides of the outer tub cover.
2. Then push it downwards from the top tab of the Hose Hanger.
  • How to Remove:
1. Push the Hose Hanger upwards.
2. Then pull it out from Hose Hanger holder of the outer tub cover .

USING A DRAIN HOSE

The hose can be rerouted to the left or right side of the body, depending on the location of your house’s drain hole. To do so, perform the following:

  1. Untie the Drain Hose from the back panel of the washing machine and position the Drain Hose as shown in Fig. 1: Place the mat or any cloth on the floor before laying down the unit to protect it from scratches. (Remove or Cut the Tie Wires left in the back panel of the washing machine.)
  2. The default position of the Hose is at the right side of the body (with the person facing front of the unit): To set the Hose at the left side.
    • 0 Untie the Drain Hose and the Tie Wires from the base (Fig. 1 ).
    • 0 Reroute the Drain Hose to the left side. Hook each Tie Wire between two holes on the base. Wrap the Tie Wires around the hose once, then twist at least 3 times (Fig. 2).
    • Hook the Hose to the Hose Hanger at your left side.
  3. Return the unit to its upright position.
  • Hose arrangement (Fig. 3)
1. Do not put the hose tip under the water.
2. Always lay down the drain hose flat on the ground.
3. The extension drain hose length should be 2m or less.

Washing Tips: WASHING CYCLE

This process is recommended to fully utilize the features of your Washing Machine. You can innovate the Washing Process depending on your washing style and preference.

PREPARATIONS BEFORE WASHING

  • Remove loose objects from pockets.
  • Mend clothes with worn-out patches & other damages.
  • Wash sturdy clothes reversely.
  • Sort fabrics according to type.
    1. Separate white clothes from colored clothes.
    2. Wash dyed or oiled clothes seperately.
  • Check the washing instructions attached to the clothes.

General Operation

WASHING
Always lay down the drain hose while using the unit.

  1. Connect the Power Plug to 230V 60Hz power source.
  2. Set CYCLE SELECTOR to WASH/RINSE Insert water hose to WASH/RINSE
  3. Inlet or use a pail to fill the washtub with water halfway between the pulsator and the high water level mark. Keep the water hose from blocking the control panel.
  4. Put detergent depending on the water volume and detergent package indications.
  5. Set the WASH TIMER knob to 1 minute to dissolve the detergent.
  6. Put clothes one by one in the washtub and push it towards the bottom. Continue adding water up to the appropriate level. (Gradually add water to achieve a faster clothes turning rate; maximum level is up to the “H1” mark.)
  7. Set the WASH TIMER to the appropriate setting. (Please refer to Table 2)

NOTE : If you will not use the water in the wash tub for further loads, drain it by setting Cycle Selector to DRAIN.

INITIAL SPINNING

  1. Place the small clothes, and then the bigger clothes evenly in the Spin Tub.
  2. Press clothes down firmly, then place the Spinner Cap to prevent the clothes from being thrown out.
  3. Close the Inner Lid followed by the Spinner Lid completely, then set the Spin Timer to 1-2 mins.

SPIN RINSING
With Spin Rinsing, the soap suds in the clothes will be removed faster and you can save on rinsing time and water. However, if water from the faucet contains rust and/or other foreign matter, do not perform spin rinsing.

  1. Remove the Spinner Cap then insert water supply hose using the hose adaptor to the Spin Rinse Inlet to prevent obstruction to the Spinner Lid. Keep the water hose from blocking the control panel.
  2. While the Spin timer is at the “OFF” position (Spin Tub not rotating), turn on the faucet for about 1 minute. Adjust the water flow so that the shower is directed approximately to the center of the Spin Tub.
  3. Turn off the faucet then return the Spinner Cap properly and spin for about 1 to 2 minutes.

Note: Spinning Operation will not start when the Spinner Lid is open even the Spin Timer is set.
The spin operation will stop once the Spinner Lid is open.

Notes:

  • If noisy vibration occurs:
    1. Turn off the Spin Timer and open the Spinner Lid and Inner Lid
    2. Rearrange the load, then proceed with spinning or follow steps 2-3 of initial spinning.
  • If clothes are thrown out of the Spin Tub and become trapped inside the Outer Tub:
    ft CALL PANASONIC SERVICE CENTER U FOR SERVICING. (Refer to the Warranty Certificate for contact numbers)
    To avoid this problem, use the Spinner Cap and place it securely.

RINSING

  1. Set CYCLE SELECTOR to WASH/ RINSE.
  2. Transfer the water hose into the Wash/Rinse Water Inlet (keep the water hose from blocking the control panel). Turn on faucet or use pail to fill Wash Tub with water on the recommended level or base on your desired level.
  3. Place clothes one by one in the Washtub.
  4. Perform either ordinary rinsing or overflow

Always close the Wash Lid to avoid splashing of water.

  • Ordinary Rinsing
1. Perform step 1 to 3 of Rinsing.
2. Set the Wash Timer to 3-5 minutes.
3. After Wash Timer returns to “OFF”, set Cycle Selector to Drain.
  • Overflow Rinsing
1. Perform Steps 1 to 3 of Rinsing
2. Set the Wash Timer to 5-7 minutes.
3. Turn on the faucet to supply water continuously into the Wash Tub, while the Wash Timer is “ON”
4. After Wash Timer has returned to “OFF”, turn off the faucet.

FINAL SPINNING

  1. Put clothes into the Spin Tub again.
  2. Put Spinner Cap securely, then close Inner Lid and Spinner Lid and set Spin Timer, depending on fabric type.

  • Always unplug the unit after usage.
  • To avoid damage to Spin motor, do not spin for more than 10 minutes continuously.

Cleaning Guide

WARNING : Always unplug the unit before performing cleaning maintenance.

When Cleaning External Surfaces

  • Do not splash water on the control panel.
  • Do not use brushes, petroleum-based chemicals, polishing powders, rubbing compounds, cleansers, thinner, benzene, alcohol, and other hazardous chemicals
  • Use a soft, dry cloth.
  • For very ity surfaces, use only a soft cloth dipped in a mild soap and water solution.

To Clean the Overflow Filter

  1. Pinch both sides of the Overflow Filter then pull.
  2. Remove the Lint Filter (Refer to How To Clean Lint Filter to remove) and splash it with water.
  3. Remount the Overflow Filter (Be sure that the bottom hook is secured to the tub.)

To Clean the Lint Filter Unit

  1. Remove Lint Filter Unit by pushing the top tab downwards then pull it outside from the Overflow Filter.
  2. Turn Lint Filter Net inside out, remove lint and wash with water.
  3. Insert the bottom portion of the Lint Filter on the Overflow Filter then push it forward until it clicks.

To Clean the Pulsator

  1.  Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw. (Do not loosen all the way).
  2. Lift the Pulsator by pulling the screw.
  3. Remove lint and splash with water.
  4. Wipe the Pulsator with a dry cloth.
  5. Remove the Pulsator then tighten the screw properly. When turning the screw, be sure not to damage the screw head.

For better washing results, you are advised to clean the Overflow Filter, Lint Filter, and Pulsator every after using the product.

Before Calling for Service
CHECK THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS BEFORE CALLING FOR REPAIR OR SERVICE. IF MALFUNCTION PERSISTS, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR NEAREST PANASONIC AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER (PASC).

CONDITION 1: The unit is not operating.

  • Power Plug is not completely inserted.
  • Connect Power Plug properly.
  • Wash Timer is not turned ON.
  • Adjust timer to the desired setting.

CONDITION 2: Long draining time

  • Drain Hose is twisted
  • Untwist the Drain Hose by hand.
  • Clogged drain hole.
  • Remove pulsator and check if lint or other object block the Tub Drain Hole

CONDITION 3: Noisy wash operation
Note : Normal washing operation creates noise due to rotation.

However, if there are unusual noise:

  • Foreign objects are trapped between the Tub and Pulsator
  • Use a screw driver to loosen the screw. (Do not loosen all the way).
  • Lift Pulsator by pulling the screw.
  • Remove the trapped foreign objects.
  • Remount the Pulsator then tighten the screw.
  • When turning the screw, be sure not to damage the screw head.

CONDITION 4: A whistling sound is heard when operating the Spinner without any load.
Note : This is normal, air is passing thru Spin Tub holes.

CONDITION 5: Spinner is not operating.

  • Spinned Lid is open
  • Close Spinner Lid properly.
  • The Spin Timer is not turned on.
  • The Spinner Lid is secured with safety device, spinning is not possible when the Spinner Lid is open.
  • Adjust the Timer to the desired setting.

CONDITION 6: Noisy spinning

  • Unbalanced clothes load
  • Re-arrange to balance load/
  • The displaced Spinner Cap touches the Outer Tub Cover.
  • Return Spinner Cap properly.
  • Unit was installed on unleveled floor.
  • Install the unit on a leveled floor.
  • Clothes are thrown out of the Spin tub and become trapped in the Outer tub.
  • If possible, remove the clothes that are trapped in the Outer tub. If not, call the Panasonic Service Center.

CONDITION 7: Clothes still wet after spinning

  • Unbalanced clothes load
  • Re-arrange to balance load.
  • Water in the Spin Tub
  • Drain by laying down the Hose and remove object/s clogging the drain hole.
