SETTING UP THE CHILLER
-
Ensure you have assembled and inflated your LUMI ice bath first before continuing.
-
Place the LUMI chiller on a stable flat surface next to your LUMI ice bath, leaving a recommend 50cm space around the chiller unit for ventilation.
-
The water filter is located at the rear of the chiller and is pre-installed (you can use the supplied wrench to remove during planned maintenance and cleaning of the chiller).
-
Connect both the Inlet and Outlet water pipes between the LUMI ice bath and chiller unit; ensure the pipes are ‘hand tight’, and the valves are first set to the closed position.
-
Now fill your LUMI ice bath with cold water – but initially ensure the water level is just below the water inlet hole on the ice bath before moving to the next step.
Ensure the water level is just below the water inlet hole on the ice bath before moving to the next step.
FIRST USE SWITCHING ON THE CHILLER -
Turn both the Inlet and Outlet water pipe valves to the Open position.
-
Next, wait until you see the water run through the first pipe to the chiller unit, and then run into the pipe that flows back to the LUMI ice bath. The chiller is now ready to be switched on.
This ensures the air in the chiller has been discharged and the pump is primed with water, preventing a water flow failure (error code E2 – No water flow, air in the system). -
Once you see the water run into both pipes, plug in and switch on your LUMI chiller unit.
-
Tap (do not hold) ON/OFF to switch the unit ON/OFF.
-
After a few seconds, the chiller should start circulating the ice bath water, and can take up to a few minutes to push any remaining air out of the system and start chilling the water.
-
If required, you can now continue filling the ice bath with water, up to your desired level.
We recommend that you turn your Screen Lock On once you have set your desired temperature or chosen program on the chiller unit, as water (rain) can sometimes activate the touch buttons, and also helps prevent against any accidental changes to your set program.
You can press and hold the button for 3 seconds to lock and unlock the LCD screen

DRAINING YOUR ICE BATH AND CHILLER OF WATER
You have a few options to drain and empty both your ice bath and chiller of water, when you want to clean, maintain or store the products for future use
MANUALLY
- Ensure your chiller is Switched off and unplugged.
- Ensure you Close all the valves on the water pipes.
- Remove the white drain plug cap on the rear of the chiller, and then unscrew the water pipes from the chiller unit (keeping the pipes attached to the ice bath). Water within the chiller will then drain out, replace the drain plug cap once empty.
- You can then Open the valve on the bottom water pipe attached to the ice bath and drain the ice bath water into a drain or sink.
USE THE PUMP ON THE CHILLER UNIT (FASTER)
- Ensure your chiller is Switched off.
- Ensure you Close the top Water In valve attachement on the ice bath.
- Unscrew the top water pipe from the ice bath valve attachement (keeping both pipes attached to the chiller), and place the pipe over a drain or sink.
- Next Switch on the chiller, and set the temperature to approx. 18°C (64.4°F) to stop it from chilling the water.
- Let the chiller pump all the water out of the ice bath, until no water is coming out of the pipe, or until the chiller beeps and you see E2 display in the screen. (this code essentially means the chiller unit is empty of water).
- You can then Switch off and unplug the chiller once the water has been drained.
MAINTENANCE, CLEANING & STORAGE
- Never clean your chiller unit with strong bleach-based detergents.
- When cleaning the filter, and if the chiller is still connected to the ice bath, please ensure the valves on the pipes are set to the closed position to avoid lots of water pouring out. Use the supplied wrench to remove, and reinstall the water filter.
- Though not essential, to ensure a long service life and for hygiene purposes, we recommend draining, cleaning and drying your LUMI chiller every two to three weeks.
- Repeat all the steps in the QUICK START section, whenever you use the chiller unit again.
