Overview

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Necessary precautions must be taken when using electrical appliances, and these include the following:

1. Please install the appliance according to the installation instructions in this user manual.
2. Make sure the voltage on the appliance rating plate corresponds to that of the mains electricity.
3. Never place the appliance on or close to sources of heat or very damp places.
4. Make sure that the power cord does not come into contact with hot surfaces.
5. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
6. NEVER PLACE THE APPLIANCE BODY, PLUG OR POWER CORD IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS; ALWAYS WIPE CLEAN WITH A DAMP CLOTH.
7. EVEN WHEN THE APPLIANCE IS NOT FUNCTIONING, REMOVE THE PLUG FROM THE ELECTRICAL WALL SOCKET BEFORE INSERTING OR CHANGING THE FILTER OR BEFORE CLEANING OR REFILLING WITH WATER.
8. Always make sure that your hands are thoroughly dry before using or adjusting the switches on the appliance, or before touching the power plug or power connections.
9. WARNING: DO NOT INSTALL THIS APPLIANCE IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT.
10. Consume filtered water within one to two days.
11. To unplug the appliance, grip the plug and remove it directly from the power socket. Never pull the power cord to unplug the appliance.
12. Never use the appliance if the power cord or plug is damaged or if the appliance itself is faulty.
13. This appliance is designed for DOMESTIC USE ONLY and may not be used for commercial or industrial purposes. This appliance confirms to the (LVD) 2014/34/EU and (EMC)2014/30/EU directives.
14. Any changes to this product that have not been expressly authorized by the manufacturer may lead to the user’s guarantee being rendered null and void.
15. Packaging must never be left within the reach of children since it is potentially dangerous.
16. This appliance is designed for filtering and chilling water. Please do not use the appliance to chill other liquids as this will damage the appliance and void the warranty.
17. This appliance is designed for use within the home or small offices.
18. Do not store or use this appliance outdoors.
19. If the appliance is used incorrectly, please remove the plug from the socket and contact Aqua Optima customer services.
20. At first use or after the appliance has been completely drained of water in all tanks the following must be done. Fill the appliance with water and push the button and hold until all water is dispensed, this will remove any excess air that may be trapped in the internal chilled water tank. This must be performed before switching on the appliance.
21. Please keep this manual for future reference.

WARNING

• This product is intended to filter tap water only. Do not put water of unknown quality or that has been microbiologically impaired into the product. Use only cold or room-temperature water. Do not use for the preparation of baby food.
• The appliance must not be filled with hot water.

BEFORE USING THE WATER CHILLER FOR THE FIRST TIME

• Remove all packaging.
• Remove the top cover and extract the upper tank. Wash, rinse and dry thoroughly.

ATTENTION:
FIRST USE. DO NOT PLUG THE UNIT IN OR INSTALL THE FILTER CARTRIDGE YET.

• Pour at least 2.5 liters of fresh water into the tank using a container. Place a glass under the dispensing tap and push the water dispenser lever back to drain the water. Repeat this process several times, pouring each glass of water away.

PREPARING THE AQUA OPTIMA EVOLVE WATER FILTER CARTRIDGE

Aqua Optima is a unique water filtration system developed to deliver filtered water quickly – reducing chlorine, limescale, organics, herbicides, pesticides, lead and other heavy metals.

1. Remove all packaging from the filter cartridge. There may be a small residue of black carbon particles in the bag or adhering to the cartridge body; this is normal. These particles are harmless and are washed off during the preparation process.
2. Soak the cartridge in a bowl of water for 5- 10 minutes to remove all air bubbles. (A)
3. Flush for 1 minute under a running tap. (B)
4. The filter cartridge is now ready for use.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

• Remove the plug from the socket.
• Remove the top cover and take out the upper water tank.
• Ensure the seal ring is installed correctly.
• Fit the water filter cartridge into the underside of the upper tank, rotating clockwise to lock into place. Ensure it is firmly secured. (C)
• Re-insert the upper tank and pour in water until both tanks are full. Water will flow through the filter at a set rate and may take some time due to the action of the filter cartridge.
• During normal use top up the tanks regularly.
• Do not overfill the filtered water tank, leave at least 5mm to avoid the risk of water overflow in the upper tank.
• Fit the lid, plug the unit into the electrical mains supply and switch it on. The power light will illuminate blue and the appliance will begin to chill the water.
• Dispense 2 liters of water from the unit to remove any unfiltered water and top up.
• When the cool light illuminates blue the filtered water in the internal chilled water tank will be cooled to approximately ≤12 °C less than the ambient temperature.
• The capacity of the internal chilled water tank is around 0.8L. There must always be water in the filtered water tank to be able to dispense chilled water from the internal tank.
• Note: FIRST USE of the appliance. The internal chilled water tank will take around 90mins to chill, thereafter the full capacity of the internal tank will take up to an hour to chill.
• Place a glass under the dispensing tap and push the button to dispense water.
• Top up the upper tank as required.
• The total filtered (not chilled) capacity for this appliance is 7.4L as long as both the upper tank and the filtered water tank are full.

Note: It is possible to use the appliance without power; in this case, the water will be correctly filtered but will not be cooled.

REPLACING THE AQUA OPTIMA EVOLVE FILTER CARTRIDGE

Note: This water chiller is only intended for use with Aqua Optima Evolve filters.

• Drain the water from the tanks and remove the lid.
• Take out the upper water tank and remove the filter cartridge by rotating it anti-clockwise.
• Insert the new filter cartridge as described previously and refit the upper tank and lid.

AQUA OPTIMA EVOLVE A 30-DAY FILTER CARTRIDGE
To ensure the best performance, the filter cartridge should be changed after 100 liters, which is approximately 30 days of typical use.

CARE & MAINTENANCE

• Water is a foodstuff. We recommend using the filtered water within 2 days. If the appliance is not used for more than 48 hours fill it twice with cold water and empty the water before continuing to use it normally.
• Should the appliance not be used for an extended period of time (for example a holiday) we recommend that the filter is removed and placed in a clean plastic bag and stored in the fridge. This will help to maintain the filter when not in use. Before using the filter after storage, follow the preparation and fitting instructions for use as normal.

CLEANING

ATTENTION:
NEVER PLACE THE APPLIANCE BODY, PLUG, OR POWER CORD IN WATER OR OTHER LIQUIDS; ALWAYS WIPE CLEAN WITH A DAMP CLOTH.

• Wash, rinse and dry the upper tank, filtered water tank, and lid regularly, at least when the filter cartridge is replaced.
• Do not use any washing-up liquid or anything that may taint the water. Don’t use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.

DRAIN THE WATER CHILLER COMPLETELY BEFORE STORING
Remove the plug from the electrical wall socket and empty both tanks. To drain the internal tank at the rear of the appliance open up the drain plug and drain the tank.

INSTALLATION

This appliance is equipped with a power cord and plug. The plug must be correctly inserted into the socket.

PLEASE DO NOT DISASSEMBLE THIS APPLIANCE YOURSELF. ELECTRIC ELEMENTS WILL BE EXPOSED AND THERE IS A RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK.

POSITIONING OF APPLIANCE

• This appliance should be installed according to the installation instructions in this user manual.
• Please do not install this appliance in a very damp or hot place, near a heat source.
• Place the appliance on a flat and even surface.
• Install the appliance in a dry place to avoid damage, moisture, or rust.
• Do not use this appliance outdoors. This appliance is only suitable for use indoors.
• Do not overhang the power cord and water tray on a table, counter or other surface and avoid contact with hot surfaces.
• Make sure that there is a gap of at least 100mm on both sides and the top, at least 150mm at the rear of the chiller, and any wall or surface.
• Ensure that the fan at the rear of the appliance is never blocked or covered. It must be at least 150mm from any wall or surface for ventilation.
