Care and Cleaning

KEY Lock Function
To activate the key lock mode, press the “Menu” and “Item” buttons simultaneously. The OSD on the screen will display “Key Lock on.” To deactivate the key lock mode, press the same buttons again, and the OSD will show “Key Lock off,” indicating that the key lock mode is now disabled.

Host Side Operation

HDVS IP Monitor Host Side Operation

IP Monitor Operation

Start System
Plug in the power cable to turn on the IP Monitor. The power LED will illuminate, indicating that the device has started. Upon booting, the default video output mode is set to multi-window display. If the booting occurs within the designated recording time period, the system will automatically activate the recording function.

Notice: Please ensure that you use the designated power supply provided with the IP Monitor and avoid using any other power supply of a different type or brand.

System Login
After the IP Monitor boots up successfully, you can click on the “Start” icon or right-click anywhere on the screen to access the shortcut menu. From the menu, select “Start” and then choose “Login.” In the login dialogue box, enter the Username as “admin” and the default Password is “123456”.

Menu Operation
After successfully logging in, you can perform the necessary settings by using the toolbar located at the top of the graphical user interface (GUI).

Start Setting

1. Logout: Clicking the “Logout” button allows you to log out the current user.
2. Booting Guide: Clicking the “Booting Guide” button will open the settings menu, where you can configure language, monitor resolution, network parameters, and view the QR code for the mobile App.
3. Reboot: By clicking the “Reboot” button, the device will automatically restart.
4. Shutdown: By clicking the “Shutdown” button, the device will automatically shut down.

How to Connect IP Monitor with IP Camera
To begin, the cameras must be added to the system in order to configure the IP Monitor. The IP Monitor supports multiple versions of Onvif protocols, which guarantees compatibility with popular IP camera brands. This ensures seamless integration and optimal performance when connecting your preferred IP camera to the IP Monitor.

Before establishing a connection between the IP camera and the IP Monitor, it is crucial to verify that both devices have IP addresses within the same network section. Additionally, it is recommended to adjust the main-stream and sub stream settings to the following values: main-stream – 2048k, sub stream – 512k. Failing to properly configure these settings may lead to various issues, including the IP Monitor’s inability to detect the IP camera, difficulties establishing an image connection, reduced image fluency, and compromised image quality, among others.

To connect the IP Monitor to the local area network (LAN), connect the IP Monitor to the LAN switch using a network cable. After the IP Monitor has booted up, click the button to access the system configuration interface. In this interface, you can configure the network parameters of the IP Monitor, including the IP address, subnet mask, and network gateway. To verify if the IP Monitor has successfully connected to the LAN, you can use a PC within the LAN to run the ping command and ping the IP address of the IP Monitor.

Next, click with the mouse to access the following menu options:

Click on “Search device” to automatically search for IP cameras within the local area network (LAN). The IP Monitor will detect and display a list of available IP cameras. You can choose to add them to the IP Monitor channels as required. Alternatively, if you have the specific IP address, port, and other camera parameters, you can manually input them and save the settings to add the camera to the IP Monitor.

The IP Monitor instruction provides several key features that include preview, playback, backup, channel settings, hard disk management, system configuration, and system maintenance. These functions are designed to facilitate the monitoring and management of the IP Monitor system.

Real-Time Preview

Once the device starts up successfully, you will be taken to the real-time monitoring screen as shown in the accompanying image. The screen feature’s function shortcut keys represented by red rectangles, and the mouse pointer aligns with text prompts to provide intuitive navigation.

Interface Quick Function Introduction
The preview interface is equipped with several toolbars to enhance functionality. The upper, right, and lower toolbars can be hidden manually according to your preference. Each toolbar provides unique shortcut functions, and there are hidden convenient functions available for additional options and features.

Top Toolbar
All configuration interfaces can be accessed through the visible toolbar, which is always present and not hidden.

• The audio input feature allows users to adjust the volume of the voice using a slider control.
• The channel audio volume switch   enables users to adjust the volume for each channel by using a slider control.
• The real-time alarm light serves as an indicator that flashes when an alarm is triggered. By clicking on the indicator, users can access detailed alarm information, as shown in the accompanying picture.

Right Toolbar

Image play mode
The IP Monitor provides two play modes: “Device List” and “Grouping Patrol.” By default, the preview pictures are displayed in the “Device List” mode. However, if the user prefers to use the “Grouping Patrol” mode, it needs to be configured in advance. Once configured, the IP Monitor will operate in the “Grouping Patrol” mode according to the user’s preferences.

`Lower Toolbar

• By clicking on the “Preview split mode ” option, users have the freedom to select and customize their desired preview split mode.
• The “Flip over ” function allows users to navigate to the next page of the current preview  screen.
• The “Patrol switch and Interval time the interval time ” options allow users to enable the patrol mode and set between patrols.
• The “Linkage preview switch ” enables users to activate the linkage preview feature. When an alarm is triggered, the preview image of the corresponding alarm channel will automatically appear on the current preview interface.
• By enabling the “Alert flashing frame ” option, the frame surrounding the preview channel image will automatically flash when an alarm is triggered.
• The “Full screen mode ” allows the image to be displayed in full-screen format on the preview interface.
• The “Hide OSD ” option allows users to hide the on-screen display (OSD) elements on the preview interface.
• The “P/T control ” option enables users to access the Pan/Tilt control interface. From there,  they can adjust and control the Pan and Tilt movements of the camera.
• The “File backup ” option allows users to access the local backup interface. From there, they  can perform file backups of recorded footage to a local storage device.
• The “Fullscreen snapshot ” feature allows users to take a snapshot of all channels in the  preview mode simultaneously.

PTZ Control
To ensure accurate control of P/T (Pan/Tilt), kindly verify the correctness of the set relative parameters. Once the parameters are properly configured, proceed to select the desired controlling channel on the preview interface. Next, navigate to the P/T control interface to adjust the lens direction, focal length, focus, aperture zoom (in and out), and P/T speed settings. Now, let’s delve into detailed instructions on how to set up the preset, cruise, and patrol functions, using the following examples as a guide.

Preset setting and call

1. To begin, select the desired channel for the camera. Next, utilize the electronic Pan/Tilt control to position the camera precisely at the designated location. Then, from the list of available presets, choose the appropriate preset. Finally, click on the “Setting” button to confirm the preset configuration.
2. To select a preset from the list, simply click on the desired preset, and then click on the “Call” button to activate it.

Configure/call/delete cruise

1. To choose a specific cruise number from the “Cruise” list, click on it. This action will lead you to the “Cruise Setting” interface. Once there, you can select the desired preset, set the cruise time, and adjust the cruise speed. To add the preset to the cruise successfully, click on the “Add” icon. You can repeat this process to add multiple presets to the cruise.
2. To activate a specific cruise number from the cruise list, simply click on it, and then click on the “Call” icon. This action will initiate the selected cruise sequence.
3. To remove a specific cruise number from the cruise list, select the desired cruise number, and then click on the “Delete” icon. This action will delete the selected cruise number from the list.

Configure patrol and call

1. To record a patrol trail, choose a patrol number from the patrol list, and click on the “Set” icon to initiate the recording. Proceed with a series of directional operations as required. Once you have completed the desired trail, click on the “Set” icon again to stop recording the trail. The trail will be successfully recorded and saved for future reference.
2. To activate a specific patrol number from the patrol list, simply click on the desired patrol number and then click on the “Call” icon.

Swap channel
To choose one channel and drag it to another channel, all configurations are swapped by default

Toolbar
The toolbar is positioned at the bottom of the channel, appearing as a suspended element. When the mouse hovers over the bottom of the screen, a floating toolbar will emerge, resembling the illustration depicted below.

Right Key Menu

The menu consists of the aforementioned functions available in both full screen and non-full screen modes. Users can operate the menu based on their individual preferences and requirements. Please refer to the accompanying image for further clarification.

Real-Time Playback

*Require Connecting Additional Hard Disk
A hidden toolbar is located at the bottom of each channel screen. When the mouse slides to the lower side, the toolbar becomes visible. By clicking the right button , a progress bar will appear, allowing you to advance the channel screen by 5 minutes from the current moment. You can play, rewind, pause, or stop video recording as needed for the 5 minutes of recorded footage. After stopping playback, the screen can be returned to the real-time monitoring view. It’s important to note that the default time for real-time playback is 5 minutes, but this duration can be modified.

Video Playback

Require Connecting Additional Hard Disk
To access the recording playback interface, simply click on the designated icon. Within this interface, you will find options for local recording, local capture picture, and external file playback. By default, the interface opens to the local recording mode, as illustrated in the accompanying picture.

Local Video

• Channel choice
  By default, the system selects CH1 from the channel list. However, users have the option to choose a different recording channel for inquiry and playback purposes.

• File Search
  The default time is set to the current day’s date. Users have the flexibility to select a specific date and choose the recording style. The recording information will be displayed in the blank area of the lower bar, with each recording style represented by a different color.

• Play Recording
  Users can interact with the searched recording bar by dragging it using the mouse. Additionally, they can adjust the time axis scale within a 24-hour timeframe by slowly scrolling the mouse roller. The time unit scale options include 1 hour, 30 minutes, 15 minutes, 5 minutes, 2 minutes, and 1 minute. When the mouse cursor hovers over the time axis of a colored column, an exact time hint will be displayed, with accuracy down to the second. Double-clicking the time axis enables quick playback of the recording, and the system will adjust the recording scale according to the playback accuracy, ensuring precise positioning of the playback time.

Play Mode

• The default display mode is set to “Local Recording.” To retrieve a recording file, select the desired channel, specify the time range, and choose the recording style. Once the parameters are set, click on the “Inquiry” button to obtain the corresponding recording file.

External File

• This module allows access to files stored on a USB external storage device inserted into the IVR. It provides the capability to search and retrieve all backup files stored within the external storage device.
• To retrieve files from the USB external storage device, click on the “Refresh” button located at the lower right corner of the interface. This action will update and display the files available on the device. You can then utilize the controls located on the toolbar beneath the interface to perform various operations on the selected files, such as playing, pausing, stopping, fast forwarding, and adjusting audio settings. Alternatively, you can click on the “Delete” button at the lower right corner to remove the selected files from the storage device.

Channel Setting

Upon accessing the channel connection interface, the IP Monitor will automatically search for IPC (Internet Protocol Camera) devices within the local area network (LAN). Once the search is complete, users can add channels based on their specific requirements. For detailed instructions, please consult the accompanying picture.

• There are two modes available for adding channels: manual add and auto add.
  Auto mode : For protocols such as ONVIF, SLINK, and I9, the camera is added by binding its MAC address. This allows the camera to be accessible even if its IP address or network segment changes in the future. As long as the camera can still be detected by the IP Monitor, it will adaptively display the image.
  Manual mode: In this mode, IP cameras can be added manually by specifying their IP address.

• To search for devices, select the appropriate protocol, and the IP Monitor will initiate a search within the local area network (LAN). The search process typically completes within 10 seconds, and all devices within the LAN will be detected and displayed.

• Batch Device Additio n: IP Monitor organizes the IP addresses of the cameras detected by the system in a sequential manner. You can select multiple IP cameras and add them in batches, simplifying the process.
  Add All: With this option, you can add all the IP cameras that have been searched and detected by IP Monitor to the system at once.

• Add All: This function allows you to add all the searched IP cameras to the IP Monitor, enabling easy integration of multiple cameras into the system.

• Export Configuration : By selecting this option, you can export the system configuration to an external storage device connected to the IP Monitor via USB. This facilitates backup and transfer of the system settings for future use or system migration.

• Import Configuration: By using this feature, you can import a system configuration file from an external device into the IP Monitor. After the import is completed, the new configuration will be applied and become effective upon restarting the device.

• Plug and Play : This function allows you to toggle the enabling or disabling of the plug and play feature.

• Delete Device: To remove IPC (Internet Protocol Camera), simply select one or multiple IP cameras and choose the delete option. This action will remove the selected cameras from the IP Monitor.

• Network Configuration: Access the network management interface to modify the basic parameters related to network settings.

• Network Test: Users can perform a PING test by selecting the appropriate network card or destination address. This feature allows for testing network connectivity and determining the response time between the source and destination.

Video Parameter – OSD Setting

• Preview Playback Display : By default, the VCR channel name is displayed in red font at the upper left corner of the screen. However, it is customizable, allowing users to modify the font color and position according to their preferences.
• Camera Name Overlay : The camera name is superimposed onto the video data, ensuring that it is visible during playback.
• Overlay Time Information: Users have the option to select different time/date formats for a specified channel. The channel name, time, and date will be displayed with yellow rectangular boxes on the screen. The position of these overlays can be adjusted by dragging the mouse, and the display size can also be customized.
  Copy to: This function allows users to copy the configuration parameters of the current channel to another channel, making it easier to replicate settings.

Note: Please note that the above-mentioned configurations for IPC (Internet Protocol Camera) are dependent on the IPC’s support. The effectiveness of these configurations is contingent upon the IPC’s compatibility and functionality.

Video Storage

• Video plan
  There are four video modes available, with the default mode set to “Timing Recording + Alarm Recording.” However, users have the flexibility to switch between different video modes based on their preferences and requirements.

  • Timing Recording + Alarm Recording : In this mode, the system will initiate video recording during the scheduled timing video period as well as when an alarm event is triggered. When either of these conditions is met, the current channel system will automatically start the recording operation.
  • Timing Recording : In this mode, the current channel system will exclusively perform the recording operation during the set timing recording period.
  • Alarm Recording: The current channel system will initiate the recording operation only when the alarm recording function is triggered.
  • Stop Recording : When selected, the current channel will promptly cease recording. However, please note that if the manual recording function is enabled in the preview screen, the recording will continue until manually stopped.

• Disk Formatting
  Format: To format a specific hard disk, select the disk that requires formatting and click the corresponding button. Please note that when the disk status indicates “need to format,” it is essential to format the hard disk before resuming recording. During the formatting process, it is advised to avoid performing any other operations.

Create Network Disk : Fill in the network disk name, select the protocol, IP address, and specify the network disk directory to create a network disk for storage purposes.

Alarm Management

Ordinary event

• Detection Mode : By default, the system operates in “Front-End Detection” mode. If the device supports intelligent detection, the mode can be switched to “IP Monitor Local Detection.”

• Sensitivity: Adjusting the sensitivity settings can enhance the accuracy of motion detection triggers. By setting the sensitivity appropriately, the system can better detect and respond to motion events.

• Area Setting : To define the motion detection area, simply click and hold the left mouse button on the screen, then drag to select the desired area. The selected region will be highlighted with a red grid, indicating the designated motion detection area.

• Arm Time: Specify the time interval for arming the motion detection feature. This determines when the system actively monitors and triggers alerts for motion events.

• Linkage Mode: Choose the desired linkage mode, which determines the actions or events triggered in response to motion detection.

• Intelligent Event (It required specific IPC)
  In this mode, the system automatically detects and utilizes the intelligence capabilities supported by the connected IPC (Internet Protocol Camera) channels. The available intelligence features specific to the current IPC channel are displayed, with the focus on human detection. For other intelligence features, please refer to the following instructions for detailed operations.

• Voice Alarm
  Users can manually activate individual or all local alarm outputs as needed.

• System abnormality
  There are six types of alarms to choose from, including: HDD Full, HDD Disconnection, HDD Offline, HDD SMART Error, Network Disconnection, and IP Address Conflict.

Network Management

• Local Network

1.  **Network Card:** Select the appropriate network card type based on your specific requirements.
2.  **Physical Address:** The physical address of the current network interface is displayed, and it cannot be modified.
3.  **Automatically Obtain IP Address:** This function enables DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). When enabled, the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway cannot be manually set. If DHCP is active, the device will obtain a new IP address, subnet mask, and gateway assigned by the router (a new IP address is necessary for remote login). If DHCP is not active, the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway will display the previously assigned values (you can still use the old IP address to remotely log in to the device).
4.  **IP Address:** Enter the desired numerical value to modify the default IP address.
5.  **Subnet Mask:** Enter the appropriate subnet mask for the corresponding IP address.
6.  **Gateway Address:** Input the relevant gateway address for the network configuration.

• Network protocol
  P2P Service Configuration: This page allows you to enable or disable the P2P service.

System Setting

• Time setting
  Device Time: The IP Monitor time can be manually adjusted.
  Date Format: Choose from three available date formats.
  Time Zone: Switch the time zone, and the page will display the new date and time accordingly. Some time zones also support daylight saving time.
  NTP Time Calibration : Enable this function to synchronize the device’s time with the network time. Click the button to initiate the synchronization process (the device must have access to the external network).

• User Management

1.  **Modify User** : Edit the username, password, and user type for the selected user.
2.  **Add User:** Create a new user by providing the necessary details.
3.  **Delete User:** Remove the selected user (excluding admin and default users) from the system.
4.  **User Authority:** Configure the permissions and access rights for the selected user.
5.  **Recover Password:** Users can recover their password by scanning the QR code through the app or by using the registered email address.

• Device parameter
  Equipment Name: Set a custom name for the IP Monitor device.
  Language Selection: Modify the system language of the IP Monitor. Please note that a restart is required for the changes to take effect.
  Main Display Resolution: Adjust the local display resolution of the IP Monitor (subject to display support). The changes will be applied immediately.
  Auto Logout Time: Choose the duration of inactivity before the system automatically logs out. The default value is set to 0 minutes.
  Boot Preview Mode: Select between full screen preview or non-full screen preview as the default mode upon device startup.

Upgrade Maintenance

• IVR upgrade
  Device Information: Displays the current software version and hard disk version used by the IP Monitor.

1.  **Online Upgrade:** Click the “Check for Updates” button to test and upgrade to the latest available version if one is available.
2.  **USB Upgrade** : To upgrade the IVR, insert a USB flash drive into the USB port of the device. Select the appropriate upgrade file and click on the “Upgrade” button. Once the upgrade process is complete, the device will automatically restart.  

Note: Please refrain from performing any local or remote operations during the upgrade process to prevent irreversible errors.

• IVR maintenance
  Function Keys: There are three keys, each with its specific function:

1.  **Export Configuration** : Export the system configuration to an external storage device.
2.  **Import Configuration** : Import a system configuration file from an external storage device into IP Monitor. The imported configuration will take effect after rebooting the device.
3.  **Restore** : Restore the device’s parameters to their factory default values. You can choose to restore a single or multiple configurations as needed. The device needs to be restarted for the changes to take effect.

Digital Zooming

During image preview and playback, you can use the mouse roller to perform digital zooming. The image will be zoomed with the mouse pointer as the center. You can zoom in up to 15 times. To view image details, simply drag the zoomed image using the mouse.

Viewing By Webpage

1. Once the IP Monitor is successfully connected to the network, you can access it by logging in through a web browser.
2. To access the IP Monitor, you need to download and install the IE plug-in provided by the IP Monitor. After installing the plug-in, enter the IP address, username, and password of the network digital video recorder in the web browser. Once the connection is established, the following interface will appear:
   Once you have successfully logged in, you can access the network preview interface. For detailed instructions on how to operate the network terminal, please refer to the user manual of the main terminal.

Viewing By Mobile (Disabled)
This current function has been disabled for security purposes. No app will be supported for the IP24BD-OK-400T or IP27BD-OK-400T.

Troubleshooting for Monitor

The tables below list common issues that users may encounter while using the display along with their respective solutions. Before reaching out to the service personnel, please refer to the information in this section.

Note: It is recommended to go through the troubleshooting steps provided before seeking assistance.

Troubleshooting for IP Camera

Internet disconnected to HDVS IP Monitor system

Possible reasons:

1. Please verify the status of your physical network to ensure it is functioning properly.
2. Double-check the parameter settings of your HDVS IP Monitor for any potential misconfigurations.
3. If there is an IP conflict, please ensure that the gateway is set correctly.
4. It is important to ensure that all IP addresses within your LAN are unique to avoid conflicts.

No preview image
Possible reasons:

1. Ensure that the IP cameras are synchronized with the HDVS IP Monitor in terms of time.
2. For Onvif device cameras, select the UDP network type.
3. For IPCAM device cameras, select the TCP network type.
4. Double-check that the channel selection is correct.
5. Ensure that the username and password for the HDVS IP Monitor are correctly filled in.

IP Camera IP address can be searched, multi-images sub stream and single image main stream all cannot have image
Possible reasons:

1. Verify the IP channel setting for “Stream Type.”
2. Adjust the stream type by selecting either “Main stream” or “Sub stream.”
3. Ensure that the username and password are correctly filled in.

The multi-images sub stream has image and single image main stream is on black screen or still image as well as black-screen playback
Possible reasons:

1. Adjust the stream type to the 1080p mode.
2. Users should configure the main stream of HDVS IP Monitor with a resolution ratio of 1080p or 720p.

The color garbage preview image
Possible reasons:

1. Verify the stream type setting of your IP channel.
2. Adjust the stream type by selecting either “Main stream” or “Sub stream”.
