NOTICE!

Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the pruning shears may result in damage of the pruning shears.
Never use the pruning shears to sever metal wires. This  will damage the blades permanently.

  • When carrying out gardening work, wear protective clothing suited to weather conditions, e.g. a hat with a brim, long-sleeved tops, etc. and sun protection, if necessary.
  • When carrying out gardening work in hot weather, take regular breaks in the shade.
  • Do not leave any branch stubs after cutting. There is a risk of disease for the tree or the grove.
  • Cut young shoots above the eye.
  • Cut roughly at first, then exactly.
  • Make a distinction between pruning promoting growth for young plants and pruning promoting fruit for older plants.
  • Thin fruit-bearing trees after the harvest or in spring. Ornamental trees in autumn and in spring.
Thanks to the combination of the drive system and ratchet function, the pruning shears will allow for energy savings of approx. 30 – 50 %.

Handling the pruning shears

  1. Move the safety lever [4] to the left to unlock the pruning shears (see Fig. B).

  2. Move the right-hand telescopic handle [6] outwards slowly but completely, making the cutting blade [2] that is under spring tension spring open (see Fig. C). The right-hand telescopic handle now protrudes at an angle of 90 degrees.

  3. Hold the pruning shears so that the cuttings are placed between the cutting blade and the anvil blade[1 ].

  4. Press the telescopic handles together until you hear a cracking noise (see Fig. D). The first level of the ratchet mechanism is engaged and the telescopic handles can be pressed together no further.

  5. Now open the right-hand telescopic handle only until the metal pin engages visibly and audibly. Do not open the telescopic handles further (see Fig. D).
If you have accidentally opened the telescopic handles too far in the course of the cutting process the right-hand telescopic handle protrudes at an angle of 90 degrees), the cutting blade will open completely and you have to start again with step 4.

  6. Now press the two telescopic handles together again. The second level of the ratchet mechanism has engaged.

  7. Repeat steps 4 to 6 two more times.
