-
Using a T30 torx remove both driver and passenger side taillights. Disconnect the taillights from the vehicle wiring.
-
Locate the grommet behind the driver’s side panel. Carefully slit the grommet so that the wires and the T-One® connectors ends go thru it to the other side of vehicle’s body. Route the T-One® connector ends containing the yellow, brown, and green wires through the grommet.
Note: Picture shown with fascia removed for clarity WARNING
If routing the wire thru a grommet and along the exterior of the vehicle, be careful to avoid any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank or any other points that may pinch or break the wire. -
On the driver’s side, route the harness containing the yellow and brown wire up through the opening between the vehicle fascia and body to the driver’s side taillight pocket.
Note: For ease of installation use a fish wire between taillight pocket and rear fascia to pull harness from underneath vehicle out through the taillight pocket. -
Locate the connectors matching the end of the T-One® Connector. Insert the T-One® Connector containing he yellow & brown wires in between the vehicle and taillight connectors. All connector’s surfaces should be clean and free of dirt.
-
Route harness containing the green wire to the passenger side. Route down and underneath the vehicle, up through the opening between the vehicle fascia and body to the passenger’s side taillight pocket. Note: Picture shown with fascia removed for clarity.
-
Locate the connectors matching the end of the T-One® Connector. Insert the T-One® Connector containing the green wire in between the vehicle and taillight connectors. All connector’s surfaces should be clean and free of dirt.
-
On the driver’s side, close to the grommet in the cargo area, determine a suitable mounting point. Mount the T-One® Connector black box using the double-sided tape provided.
Note: Clean flat mount surface area using a 50-50 mixture of rubbing alcohol and water to mount lighting module black box. CAUTION: Make sure lighting module is mounted so that the wire side of the module is pointed towards the ground to prevent any water build up. -
Locate a suitable grounding point near the black box such as an existing ground stud or drill a 3/32” hole and secure the white wire using the eyelet and screw provided. (do not drill into vehicle floor or bed.) Clean dirt and rustproofing from area.
CAUTION: Verify what is behind any surface prior to drilling to avoid damage to the vehicle and/or personal injury. Do not drill into any exposed surfaces. -
Disconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable. If not removed, remove the fuse from the yellow fuse holder (provided).
WARNING :Read and follow all warnings and cautions printed on the tow vehicle’s battery. -
After cutting the fuse holder wire, attach the ring terminal to one end, and using the yellow heat shrinkable butt connector (provided, see heat shrink detail) attach the other end of the fuse holder to the black 12 ga wire. Secure ring terminal to the vehicle’s Positive (+) battery cable. Heat the Shrinkable butt connector using a heat gun. Starting in the center of the splice connector. Heat Shrinkable butt connector from the center out to the edges on each end until the tubing shrinks and sealant flows. Allow to cool before inspecting the splice.
-
Beginning from the front of the vehicle, route the black 12 ga wire rearward along the frame rail avoiding any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank or any other points that may pinch or break the wire.
WARNING :If routing the wire thru a grommet and along the exterior of the vehicle, be careful to avoid any hot pipes, heat shields, the fuel tank or any other points that may pinch or break the wire. -
Route the black 12 ga wire thru the slit grommet into the inside of the body. Connect the other end of the black 12 ga wire to the black wire located on the
T- One® Connector’s black box using the yellow heat shrinkable butt connector (provided, see heat shrink detail). -
Reconnect the vehicle’s Negative (-) battery cable and install the 15-amp fuse into the fuse holder from step 10.
WARNING: Read and follow all warnings and cautions printed on the tow vehicle’s battery. All connections must be complete for the T-One® Connector to function properly.
