  10. This warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any disputes relating to this warranty shall be exclusively resolved by the state courts located in Oakland County, Michigan.

Installation Instructions

PART NUMBER : 76906

  1. Install receiver housing to hitch – a) Take the receiver and the weather covers out of case. b) Unlock the blue handle using key attached and remove the housing from the receiver by pressing the blue handle and rotating clockwise until a click sound, as shown in Figure A, B, and C. c) Install the top/bottom weather cover to the housing, see Figure D. d) Attach the housing to the hitch using M12 bolt ①, flat washer ②, and prevailing torque nut ③, as shown in Figure E. Tighten the fasteners for housing to 92 Lb-Ft (125 N*M).

  2. Keep the card ⑤ in the glove compartment. Peel off the label ⑥ and apply them on the top of the receiver and door jamb respectively, see Figure F.

  3. Remove taillights All models , Open tailgate. Remove the plastic cover near taillight by removing (1) plastic fastener with a flat screwdriver, both side s. Using a 10mm socket, remove (2) hex nuts holding taillight, both sides. See Figure 2. 2018 current models, Remove interior panel from each side of cargo area to gain access behind taillights and remove (1) bolt located behind interi or panel. Gently pull the taillights rearward, disconnect the wiring from the taillights and set them aside.

  4. Remove underbody panel Using an 8mm and 10mm deep socket, remove screws and hex nuts (varies by model year) from underbody panel and set aside. See Figure 9.

  6. Using an 8mm socket remove (1) screw holding fascia below the taillight area. See Figure 3. (Steps are typical in both

  7. Using a plastic trim panel tool remove the reflector from the fascia. Behind the reflector, remove (1) screw using an 8mm socket.

  8. Using an 8mm socket remove (2) or (3) screws along the bottom outer edge of the fascia and (1) screw from inside the wheel well near the bottom.

  9. Using a 10mm socket remove (1) plastic hex nut from the wheel well liner.

  10. Using a 1/8” drill bit, drill out the centre of (4) rearmost plastic rivets holding the wheel well trim. Using a trim panel too l remove remaining rivet heads.

  11. Using a trim panel tool gently remove the lower part of the wheel well trim to expose (2) screws holding the fascia. See Figure 4.HORIZON-GLOBAL-76906-Hidden-Hitch-Completely-Hidden-Trailer-FIG- \(11\)

  12. Using an 8mm socket remove (2) screws from behind wheel well trim.

  13. Usi ng a trim panel tool, remove the fascia starting at the outer edges near wheel wells while gently pulling the fascia.

  14. Disconnect the wiring harness from fascia and set fascia aside.

  15. 2011 2017 models only: Remove plastic fascia supports
    Using a 10mm deep well socket, remove (4) hex nuts from the (2) plastic fascia supports, (1) per side. See Figure 5.HORIZON-GLOBAL-76906-Hidden-Hitch-

  16. Remove bumper beam:
    All models Disconnect the sensor wiring and plastic rivet attached to the bumper beam.
    2018 current models, using a 13mm socket, remove (2) hex nuts holding exhaust hanger brackets to the bottom of the bumper beam, (1) per
    All models, using an 18mm deep well socket with 6” extension, remove (4) hex flange nuts holding bumper beam to end panel, (2) per side. See Figure 1.
    2011 2017 models Remove the foam gasket from between the aluminium bumper and end panel.
    2018 current models Keep foam gasket on the end panel. If the foam gasket is damaged, apply silicone sealant (not provided) to hitch bracket mounting sur faces. See Figure 6.

  17. Install Hitch & bumper beam: 2011 2017 models, apply silicone sealant (not provided) to hitch bracket mounting surfaces. See Figure 6. Place foam gasket between hitch and aluminium bumper beam.
    Raise the hitch and bumper beam into position aligning holes with studs in the end panel.
    See Figure 1 . Loosely reinstall the existing (4) M12 hex flange nuts onto the studs in end panel.
    Reattach the exhaust hangers to the bottom of the bumper beam using the (2) hex nuts removed in step 6.

  18. Tighten all M12 hex flange nuts with a torque wrench to 86 Lb. Ft. (116 NM)
    Tighten exhaust hanger hex flange nuts with a torque wrench to 25 Lb. Ft. (34 N
    M)
    Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.

  19. Reinstall fascia Reinstall the fascia supports, fascia, wiring, and all trim using the existing factory hardware. Be sure to reconnect all wiring harnesses.

  20. Reinstall wheel well trims Snap wheel well trim back into position. Install (8) plastic rivets supplied, (4) per side.

  21. Reinstall taillights Reinstall the taillights and the interior panels removed in step 1.

  22. Trim and reinstall the underbody panel Using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife, trim the underbody panel as shown in Fig. 7 or Fig. 8. Reinstall the underbody panel using existing screws and/or hex nuts. 2011 2017 models, See Figure 7. 2018 current models, See Figure 8.

Note : check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If the hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent the entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V 5 and SAE J684.
