  1. Insert the pull wires ⑤ into the frame rails and use them to feed the carriage bolts ① and spacers ② into frame rails through access holes as shown in Figure 2. Leave pull wires attached.
Note: Driver side rear attachment – vehicle frame could have weldnut if frame has weldnut see note in step 4.

  2.  Lower exhaust system at (2) rubber isolators. Spraying a lubricant or soapy water on the metal hanger rod and the rubber isolator helps removal. Use exhaust support stand to prevent damaging muffler.

  3. Add (1) spacer ② to flange on drivers side bracket as shown in figure 3. Raise the hitch into position and slide it over the top of exhaust pipe on passenger side first. Feed the pull wires through the slots in the brackets. Note: Bevel washer ⑧ is needed on drivers side rear attachment if there is a gap between vehicle frame and hitch.

  4. Remove pull wires and loosely install conical washer ③ and hex nut ④ to the hitch. Note: If there is a weldnut on the driver side frame, use M12 bolt ⑥ and conical washer ⑦ instead.

  5. Tighten all 7/16’’-14 GR5 fasteners with torque wrench to 50 Lb.-Ft. (68 NM) and all M12-1.75 CL8.8 fasteners to 68 Lb.-Ft. (92 NM)
Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.

  6. Reinstall the exhaust at the rubber isolators.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
