Product Usage Instructions
To prevent SERIOUS INJURY, DEATH or PROPERTY DAMAGE, please follow these instructions:
- Read the user manual and installation instructions for the hitch before installation. Keep them for future reference.
- Inspect and maintain your hitch periodically.
- Review the instructions for your vehicle and any other accessories you will use with the hitch before use.
- When towing, keep the steering wheel as steady as possible. Do not apply your brakes and do not speed up.
Warranty Information
The product is covered by a Limited Lifetime Warranty. The warranty covers material defects in both material and workmanship, excluding ordinary wear and tear. To make a warranty claim:
- Contact Horizon Global at their principal address: 47912 Halyard Drive, Suite 100, Plymouth, MI 48170. You can also call 1-800-632-3290 for assistance.
- Identify the product by its model number and follow the claim instructions provided.
- Return the product to Horizon Global for inspection and testing.
- Horizon Global will determine if the alleged nonconformance is material and not caused by misuse, neglect, wear and tear, improper installation, unsuitable storage, improper repair, alteration, or accident.
- The warranty is valid if the product was installed, maintained, and used in accordance with the provided instructions.
- Product replacement is the sole and exclusive remedy under this warranty. Horizon Global is not responsible for any service or labor charges incurred in removing or replacing the product.
Please retain your purchase receipt as proof of date of purchase and original consumer purchaser status.
For any disputes, the warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, and the state courts located in Oakland County, Michigan shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
WARNING
To prevent SERIOUS INJURY, DEATH or PROPERTY DAMAGE:
- ALWAYS read, understand and follow warnings and instructions for your hitch BEFORE installation. Keep for future reference.
- DO NOT cut, weld or modify this receiver.
- CHECK all fasteners are tight and your hitch is securely mounted to your vehicle periodically.
- ALWAYS read, understand and follow all warnings and instructions for your vehicle and for other accessories you will use with your hitch BEFORE use.
- LOAD the trailer heavier in front.
- DO NOT exceed lower of towing vehicle manufacturer’s rating or:
- ALWAYS wear your seatbelt.
- SLOW DOWN when towing, NEVER exceed any posted speed limit.
- If EXCESS SWAY occurs, take your foot off the gas pedal and hold the steering wheel as steady as possible. DO NOT apply your brakes and DO NOT speed up.
LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
- Limited Lifetime Warranty (“Warranty”). Horizon Global (“We”, “Us” or “Our”) warrants to the original consumer purchaser only (“You” or “Your”) that the product will be free from material defects in both material and workmanship, ordinary wear and tear excepted. The Warranty is valid only if (a) the products are returned to Us for inspection and testing; (b) Our inspection discloses to Our satisfaction that any alleged nonconformance are material and have not been caused by misuse, neglect, wear and tear, improper installation, unsuitable storage, improper repair, alteration, or accident; and (c) the products were installed, maintained and used in Stelvioance with Our instructions. THE WARRANTY IS MADE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED (OTHER THAN THE WARRANTY OF TITLE AS PROVIDED BY THE UNIFORM COMMERCIAL CODE IN EFFECT IN MICHIGAN), INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, SAID WARRANTIES BEING EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMED.
- Obligations of Purchaser. To make a Warranty claim, contact Us at our principal address of 47912 Halyard Drive, Suite 100, Plymouth, MI 48170, 1-800-632-3290, identify the product by model number, and follow the claim instructions that will be provided. Any returned product that is replaced by Us becomes our property. You may be responsible for return shipping costs. Please retain your purchase receipt to verify date of purchase and that You are the original consumer purchaser. The product and the purchase receipt must be provided to Us in order to process Your Warranty claim.
- Exclusive Remedy. Product replacement is Your sole and exclusive remedy under this Warranty. We shall not be liable for service or labor charges incurred in removing or replacing a product. IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.
- Assumption of Risk. You acknowledge and agree that any use of the product for any purpose other than the specified use(s) stated in the product instructions is at Your own risk.
- Governing Law. This Warranty gives You specific legal rights, and You also may have other rights which vary from state to state. This Warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to rules pertaining to conflicts of law. The state courts located in Oakland County, Michigan shall have exclusive jurisdiction for any disputes relating to this Warranty.

Installation Instructions
Install receiver housing to hitch
- Take the receiver assembly (Part Number 76900) out of case.
- Remove the Receiver from the Receiver housing by unlocking the blue knob. Use key to unlock blue knob, push in the blue knob and then rotate clockwise until you hear a click sound. At this time you can remove the Receiver from the Receiver housing, as shown in Figures A, B & C.
- Install the top/bottom weather covers to the receiver housing, see Figure D.
- Attach the receiver housing, using (2) fastener assemblies, to the hitch using M12 bolt ①, flat washer ②, and prevailing torque nut ③, as shown in Figure E. Tighten the fasteners for housing to 92 Lb-Ft (125 N*M).
Included Card and Labels
Keep the card ⑥ in the glove compartment. Peel off the label ⑦ and apply them
on the top of the receiver and door jamb respectively, see Figure F.

Remove bottom appearance panel and mud flaps – (a) Remove appearance panel -use phillips screwdriver, panel removal tool, and 10 mm socket to remove (4) rivets, and (2) screws from bottom appearance panel on driver side. (b) Remove mud flap each side if present removing the (3) Phillips head screws. Keep the bottom panel and mud flaps for reinstallation.

Remove bumper fascia – (a) use panel removal tool to remove (2) plastic rivets from bottom center fascia. For model with hands-free liftgate, there will be (6) plastic rivets. (b) use phillips
screwdriver to remove (3) screws from wheel well liner each side. (c) open the trunk and use 3/16’’ or 5 mm hex bits to remove (2) flat head screws each side. (d) using plastic trim tools, gently remove the plastic fascia starting at the outer edges near the wheel wells. (e) disconnect the wiring from fascia each side if present. -
Lower exhaust pipe – use exhaust removal pliers to lower the exhaust pipe temporarily. Caution: Use a support or bungee cord to keep muffler from getting damaged.

Install hitch – raise the hitch into position and carefully slide it over passenger side exhaust pipe first. Loosely install M12 bolts ④and conical washers ⑤ to the hitch, see Figure 1. Studs may need to be bent or ground down to ensure fitment of the hitch as shown in Figure 4.

Tighten all M12 fasteners with torque wrench to 76 Lb.-Ft. (103 N*M).
Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing. -
Trim bumper fascia and bottom appearance panel – locate the center of bottom bumper fascia and trim 6.5’’ tall by 10’’ wide area, see Figure 2. Radius cut out corners to retain holes in bumper fascia. Trim the bottom appearance panel as shown in Figure 3.

Reinstall all fasteners, wiring, fascia, exhaust, appearance bottom panel, and mud flaps removed in Step 1, 2, 3.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access o r attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
