PRODUCT OVERVIEW

USAGE

Functions and control panel

The PrepInlay can be used as an external control unit to configure up to eight LunaBulbs. The PrepInlay has a control panel on the top for this purpose. It can also be used as a BluetoothBridge (BTB) to forward the AsteraApp signal to paired lights. All these functions can be used simultaneously.

Power connection and charging

The PrepInlay has eight slots that can supply the inserted LunaBulbs with power via the built-in battery. The PrepInlay comes with a Titan/Helios Power Supply (FP1-CHR) to charge its integrated battery. It can be easily connected to the integrated DC socket. While the power supply is connected, the display shows the charging status. Charge immediately when the battery is empty. Do not store the unit when the battery is empty. Charging time is approximately 3 hours. The PrepInlay can run on battery or with the charger connected also while the lights are paired to the AsteraApp or to any CRMX transmitter. The battery will not charge while the bulbs are on.

Switching On/Off

A new PrepInlay needs a few seconds of charge to disable its shipping mode before it can be switched on.

As long as no LunaBulb has been inserted or no slot has been selected, the display toggles between these two options:

Connect LunaBulbs with PrepInlay

To connect LunaBulbs to the PrepInlay, simply insert the bulbs into the slots. Do this by placing the LunaBulb in the relevant slot and pressing it straight down until it clicks into place. (B22 version: the bulb must be pressed down and then turned clockwise.) The status LED at the respective slot flickers until the bulb is connected. As soon as the status LED lights up continuously, the bulb can be selected.

PLEASE NOTE: The first slot must always be filled in order to have access to the bulbs.

Select buttons and status LEDs

To be able to configure LunaBulbs via the PrepInlay, they must be selected. Individual, multiple or all LunaBulbs can be selected via respective buttons. If the status LED lights up blue, the fixture in the slot is connected but not selected; if the Status LED lights up green, the bulb in the slot is selected. If the status LED is off, the slot is empty.

Status LEDs:

A single bulb can be selected or deselected using the button next to the respective slot.

All bulbs can be selected or deselected using the “SELECT ALL” button.

Integrated control panel

PLEASE NOTE: To gain access to the main menu, two things must be fulfilled. A bulb must be inserted in the first slot and at least one bulb (not necessarily the one in the first slot) must be selected. Use the menu buttons to navigate through the main menu. Settings for color adjustment and brightness/runtime are directly accessible by two symbol buttons.

The main menu offers two new menu items that simplify the DMX addressing of the inserted LunaBulbs using PrepInay: SAME DMX ADDR. and INCREM. DMX ADDR.

All selected LunaBulbs will get the same DMX address.

All selected LunaBulbs are addressed incremental according to the selected DMX footprint. However, they do not have to be arranged consecutively in the PrepInlay: Empty slots will be ignored. First slot must be filled.

Connect PrepInlay as BTB

To control your lights with the AsteraApp, first connect a Bluetooth Bridge (BTB). It forwards the AsteraApp signal to paired lights. Please power on the PrepInlay for LunaBulb. Connect the PrepInlay for LunaBulb directly from the AsteraApp main menu by following the instructions there.

PLEASE NOTE : The required Bluetooth pairing pin is shown on the display of the PrepInlay for LunaBulb if all slots are deselected, no LunaBulb is inserted and it can also be found in the Info menu.

Pair with lights

First select all LunaBulbs in the PrepInlay which you want to pair with the AsteraApp.
PLEASE NOTE : The first slot must always be filled in order to have access to the bulbs.
Press the BLUEMODE button on the PrepInlay for LunaBulb. Go to the ”Pair with Lights” dialog in the AsteraApp. Then press OK.
