WARNING

  • Installation, service, and maintenance of luminaries should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician.
  • Read these instructions carefully before installation.
  • Installers should examine all parts that are not intended to be replaced by the retrofit kit for damage and replace any damaged parts before installation of the retrofit kit.
  • There is an emergency LED tube, installation instructions, luminaire marking labels, and miscellaneous hardware in this kit.

CAUTION

  • Only those open holes indicated in the photography and/or drawing may be made or altered as a result of kit installation. Do not make any other holes in the wiring enclosure or components.
  • Installers should not disconnect existing wires from lamp holder terminals to make new connections at the lamp holder terminals.
  • Instead, installers should cut existing lamp holder leads away from the lamp holder and make new electrical connections to the lamp holder lead wires by employing applicable connectors.
  • Install this kit only in the luminaries that have the construction feature and dimensions shown in the photographs and/or drawings and where the input rating of the retrofit kit does not exceed the input rating of the luminaire.
  • FOR RETROFIT KITS CERTIFIED TO CANADIAN REQUIREMENTS: THE RETROFIT KIT IS ACCEPTED AS A COMPONENT OF A LUMINAIRE WHERE THE SUITABILITY OF THE COMBINATION SHALL BE DETERMINED BY AUTHORITIES HAVING JUSRISICTION.
  • PRODUCT MUST BE INSTALLED BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN BY THE APPLICABLE AND APPROPRIATE ELECTRICAL CODES. THE INSTALLATION GUIDE DOES NOT SUPERSEDE LOCAL OR NATIONAL REGULATIONS FOR ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS.
  • LED retrofit kit installation requires knowledge of luminaire electrical systems. If not qualified, do not attempt installation. Contact a qualified electrician.
  • Luminaire wiring and electrical parts may be damaged when drilling for the installation of an LED retrofit kit. Check for enclosed wiring and components.
  • The retrofit position is located at the edge of the target luminaire with installed max of four LED tubes. LED tubes manufactured by PRECISION LIGHTING & TRANFORMER INC, model PL TSP3E21X.
  • This kit is intended to retrofit target luminaires with the following characteristics:
    • Surface-mounted, Type IC, or Type non-IC recessed-mounted
    • With or without a diffuser
    • Not dimmable
    • Max 4 LED tubes which are manufactured by PRECISION LIGHTING & TRANSFORMER INC (E4790302), Model PLTSP2E21X
    • The retrofit position is located at the edge of the four LED tubes
    • One single branch circuit as power supply connection
    • Refer to the below table for Min compartment dimensions
    • Max. mounting height: 8.07′

Installation Instructions

  1. Turn the DIP switch on the B side to the “ON” position.
  2. Combine the adapter and the end cap of B side.
  3. Disconnect power to the fixture.
  4. Remove existing tubes, reflector, and grille, and remove the lamp housing.
  5. Open the Test Switch hole on the side of the fixture.
  6. Install the external test switch.
  7. Connect the AC terminal wire (Black, White, Red) in the accessory box to the junction box.
  8. Install the lamp housing, reflector, and existing tubes.
  9. Install the emergency LED lamp.
  10. AC & test switch terminal male and female are plugged together.
  11. The AC wire and the test switch wire enter the interior of the fixture.
  12. Install the fixed clip on the B side.

  • To prevent wiring damage or abrasion, do not expose wiring to the edges of sheet metal or other sharp objects.
  • Do not install damaged products. Inspect the luminaire for damage that may have occurred during transit. If damaged, contact the manufacturer immediately.
