Home Page
The Manager’s Panel displays the Home page with options:- Alarm Status: Shows details of alarm calls in progress.
- Event Log: Displays call history.
- Flat Status: Shows the status of all flats.
- Notice Board: Update displayed information on the electronic Notice Board.

Alarm Status Page
Press the Alarm Status button on the Home page to view and manage current alarm calls. -
Event Log Page
Access the Event Log to review system events within a specified date range. Follow the instructions on the page for filtering and viewing specific events. -
Flat Status Page
View the status of each flat, including activity levels and modes. Interpret symbols to understand the status of the intercom or door entry telephone.

MAINTENANCE & CARE
- For peace of mind and to ensure your system is maintained to the highest standard Tynetec recommend an annual maintenance contract. This will provide vital assistance in times of need from a nationwide team of trained Service Engineers who specialise in Warden Call systems.
- A preventative maintenance visit (PMV) is also recommended, this covers the replacement of all batteries, a full system test, software updates (where applicable) and a Service Certificate.

MONTHLY MAINTENANCE
The Manager’s display panel should be regularly cleaned with anti-bacterial
wipes, at the same time it should be checked for signs of external physical
damage. Broken or cracked plastic can trap dirt and contribute to the spread
of germs. Products needing repair can be returned via the website;

The Manager’s Panel will normally display the Home page as shown below;
FUNCTION INSTRUCTION
ALARM STATUS PAGE
Press the Alarm Status button on the Home page to view details of any calls
in progress;
- Calls waiting to be answered will be highlighted in rredr
- When a call is answered it will be highlighted in yellow
- When a call is ended it will disappear from the list
- Press < Back to Homepage when done.
EVENT LOG PAGE
Press the Event Log button on the Home page to display a list of all events
that have occurred on the system over a given date range;
- Set the From:/To: date range using the drop-down calendars
- Use the Flat ID drop-down list to select the flat number you want to view
- Use the Filter Sensor drop-down list to search for specific sensor activations e.g. smoke alarm
- Use the Filter Extra drop-down list to search for other specific events e.g. faults
- Press the Clear Filter button to reset the on-screen list
- Press the Refresh button to update the on-screen list after new filters have been applied
- Press < Back to Homepage when done.
FLAT STATUS PAGE
Press the Flat Status button on the Home page to view details of the status of
each flat;
- Select a range of 8 flats to be viewed on-screen, e.g.
- Note: if a range of flats has a red border then there’s at least 1 flat in that range with no activity.
- The colour of the home symbol indicates the status of each flat; Grey normal operation
- Green I’m OK acknowledged
- Red no activity (or failed to respond to I’m OK)
- Yellow away mode
- Blue intruder mode
- Symbols will indicate if the intercom or door entry telephone is in privacy mode;
- intercom privacy on – the resident can hear you calling, but you can’t hear them
- door entry privacy on – the resident won’t get any calls from visitors at the door (the door entry panel will display “NOT AVAILABLE”)
Click on More information to display details of the flat status. Press < Back to Homepage when done.
NOTICE BOARD SETUP PAGE
An optional large-screen display can be attached to the Manager’s Panel to act
as an electronic Notice Board. Press the Notice Board button on the Home page
and the Enter Password box will appear;
Press the Manager (or Engineer) button and enter the Manager (or Engineer) 4-digit password. The Notice Board setup screen will be displayed as below;
Events Tab
- Touch the box alongside Enter and the keyboard will appear on-screen
- Type the new event text into box
- Touch a line item in the text box below – it will highlight bluee
- Press the Add Above or Add Below button to enter the new text above or below the highlighted line
- Press the Save button when done.
- To remove an event, touch the event to highlight it bluei then press the Remove button followed by the Save button.
Announcements and Notes Tabs
Repeat as above for Announcements and Notes.
Photos
Photographs can be added, these will be rotated as a slide show on the Notice
Board. Press the Photos button to display the screen below;
- Insert a USB memory stick into one of the USB ports on the bottom face of the Manager’s panel.
- The photos on the memory stick will be listed in the USB box.
- Highlight the photo you require and press the > button to copy it onto the Managers Panel or press the >> button to copy all photos to the Managers Panel.
- To remove a photo, touch the relevant .jpg in the Managers panel list to highlight it in blue then press Delete.
- Press the Text button to return to the Events, Announcements, and Notes setup page, or press Close to exit.
- Press < Back to Homepage when done.
OPERATING MODE SELECTION
The Advent XT2 system can report calls in three different ways;
- ONSITE MODE – to an onsite carer via the cordless handset
- MOBILE MODE – to a mobile carer via a mobile telephone
- REMOTE OFFSITE MODE – to 24-hour alarm receiving centre
The operating mode is selected by entering special codes on the handset or from the Manager’s Panel.
MODE SELECTION USING THE MANAGER’S PANEL
- The current operating mode is shown by the position of the BLACK slider on the Manager’s Panel Home page
- Touch the GREEN part of the operating mode slider to select a new operating mode
- Enter the 4-digit password to change the mode
- The BLACK slider will show the new operating mode
Note:
if the XT2 changes the operating mode (e.g. an unanswered onsite call is
diverted offsite) then the position of the slider will automatically change to
the current state.
- If the system is operating in onsite mode and an alarm call remains unanswered for a preset time (6 minutes) the call will automatically switch to mobile (local offsite) mode and report to the mobile warden. If the call still goes unanswered, then the offsite mode will be selected, and the call will go to the 24-hour alarm receiving center.
- It is not possible to select mobile or offsite mode if a telephone line fault exists. If the system is operating in either of these modes when a telephone line fault develops then the system will report calls to the onsite manager. Calls will go back to the selected mode as soon as the fault clears.
- A telephone line fault is reported on the cordless handset, the Manager’s Panel, and a BT line fault beacon (if fitted).
SETTINGS PAGE
Press the Settings button on the Home page and the Enter Password box will appear as below;

Press the Manager (or Engineer) button and enter the Manager (or Engineer) 4-digit password.

Note: Settings cannot be accessed with a User password.

The Settings screen will be displayed as below;

The Network tab is used to setup the Manager’s panel & XT2 IP addresses.

This is an Engineer function only and cannot be accessed with a Manager password.
NETWORK SETUP
Press Adaptor and select Ethernet before entering the IP address information.
- Press XT2 IP Address and use the on-screen keypad to enter the XT2 IP address e.g. 192.168.168.100
- Press Panel IP Address and use the on-screen keypad to enter 192.168.168.101 e.g. the XT2 IP address +1
- Press Show More to show DNS information.
- To enable internet connection via the XT2, the DNS information must be set up as shown 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 and the Gateway must be set correctly.
- The Comms Received Time shows the timestamp of the most recent communications received from the XT2.
- The Poll XT2 button can be used to check the communications as a status request is sent to the XT2 which should then respond with the status information.
- Press Save Settings then Close when done.
INFO SETUP
- The Info tab is used to setup the information relevant to the optional Notice Board.
- This is an Engineer function only.
- Enter the Site Name as you want it to be displayed on the Notice Board.
- Enter the local Post Code in the Weather Feed Location if you want the weather forecast on the Notice Board.
- Note: internet access is required for the weather option.
- Press Close when done.
CONFIGURE FLATS SETUP
The Configure Flats tab is used to edit the flat numbers and labels displayed on the Flat Status page;
- The XT2 Node column is the XT2 intercom DIL switch ID’s, the Flat Label column is where the intercom is located and the XT2 Flat ID column is the flat number assigned to the XT2 node in the XT2 programming.
- Use the UP/DOWN arrows to scroll through the list and touch the line with Flat Label to be edited – a text box in the top right and an on-screen keypad will appear as shown below;
- Touch the Flat Label field in the text box and edit as required (e.g. Front Door) using the on-screen keyboard then press the Save button. Touch the XT2 Flat ID in the text box and a numeric keypad will appear.
- Edit the XT2 Flat ID as required (e.g. 704) using the on-screen numeric keypad then press the Save button. Press Close when done.
DATABASE UTILITY

The Database tab is used to export the Event Log data to a CSV file.

The data can be selected over a date range and exported to an archive directory or copied to a USB memory stick.

Copy Log Data to CSV
- Select the From: and To: date range of log events you want to copy.
- Press the Export button to save the data to an Archive Directory or;
- Insert a USB memory stick and press the Refresh button to update the free space available on the drives.
- Select the D:\ drive and press the Copy to USB button.

Copy Configuration from Panel to USB
Press the Copy button to copy the flat number and resident details database to USB. -
Copy Configuration from USB to Panel
- Press the Copy button to copy the Notice board, flat text files etc. from USB to the Manager’s Panel.
- Press Close when done.
SOFTWARE VERSIONS & COMMANDS
The Version tab is used to check the software version of the Manager’s panel and the XT2 system.
Commands
Only the Restart Panel and Import Database buttons are available with a
Manager Logon. All command buttons are available with an Engineer Logon.
- Restart XT2 – restarts the XT2 Controller
- Restart Panel – restarts the Manager’s panel Windows application
- Reset Programming – resets all Programming settings back to factory defaults
- Install Update – updates the Manager’s panel software from USB
- Import Database – imports data from a USB drive
- Switch Off – turns the Manager’s panel off
- Reset Flats – restarts all the intercoms
- Press Close when done.
NOTES PAGE
- The Notes tab is used to enter any information that may be relevant to the system.
- Touch the text box and a keyboard will appear on-screen.
- Type text into the box and press the Save button.
- Press Close when done.
FLAT ACTIVITY PAGE
- The Flat Activity button is used view details of call activity for all flats;
- The Reset Counts button is used to clear the Tally counts.
- Press Close when done.
PROGRAMMING PAGE
- The Programming button is used to program Radio Devices, Activity Monitoring, I’m OK, Client Wandering, Call Routing and Alarm Call Routing.
- See the following pages for details of each feature.
RADIO DEVICE PROGRAMMING
- Press the Settings button on the Home page and the Enter Password box will appear.
- Press the Manager (or Engineer) button, enter the 4-digit password and press the Programming button.
- Select the Program Radio Devices option from the tabs along the bottom of the screen;
- Press Flat ID and use the on-screen keypad to enter the flat number you’re adding/removing a radio device to/from. To enter a Radio ID manually:
- Press Radio ID and enter the 10-digit alphanumeric radio ID using the on-screen keypad – the radio ID will be printed on the label attached to the 869MHz radio device that is to be added/removed from the system.
- Press <- to delete if a digit is entered incorrectly.
To enter a Radio ID use a hand-held barcode scanner:
- First, ensure a scanner is connected to the panel’s USB port and the panel’s software is V3.11 onward.
- Press Radio ID then scan the data matrix printed on the label attached to the 869MHz radio device that is to be added/removed from the system. The 10-digit ID should show in the text entry box.
- Press Room Locations and select where the radio device is situated from the on-screen options shown below;
- Press the Send button to update the XT2 system.
- To remove a radio device from the XT2 system enter the same details then press Remove (instead of Send).
- Press Clear to remove the Radio ID from the text entry box if another device is being entered/removed.
- Press Rtn to close the on-screen keypad.
- Press Close when done.
ACTIVITY MONITORING PROGRAMMING
- The XT2 system may be fitted with optional PIR movement detectors in each flat to monitor the resident’s activity.
- Up to 3 Activity Start/End Periods can be set per flat to operate daily.
- The Activity Period is a smaller window of time (5 to 720 mins) which can be set to split each start/end time into smaller inactivity reporting periods.
- If during an active monitoring time, an activity period elapses where there has been no resident activity then an inactivity alarm will be signaled for that resident. This will be repeated for each interval within an active monitoring time. If the Activity Period is not set (0) then no resident activity will only be reported at the end of the monitoring time. Note: Activity Monitoring can be temporarily disabled by selecting “Away Mode” on the resident’s intercom.
- From Settings on the Home page, enter the Manager (or Engineer) password, then press the Programming button.
- Select the Activity Monitoring option from the tabs at the bottom of the screen.
- Press Flat ID and use the on-screen keypad to enter the flat number required.
- Press the Request button to view the current Activity Monitoring settings for the flat number selected.
- Press Activity Period and choose from the options listed (5 to 720 mins);
- Press Start/End Time 1 and use the keypad to enter the start and end times for activity monitoring period 1;
- Press Start/End Time 2 and use the keypad to enter the start and end times for activity monitoring period 2.
- Press Start/End Time 3 and use the keypad to enter the start and end times for activity monitoring period 3.
- If an Activity period is not required the Start/End Times should be set as 00:00.
- Select which days Monday to Sunday the Activity times will be active – blue is enabled, grey disabled.
- Press the Alarm button to enable the feature – blue is enabled, and grey is disabled.
- Press the Send button to update the XT2 system.
- Repeat for another flat number.
- Press Table to view a list of Activity Monitoring settings for all flats;
- Press Close when done.
I’M OK PROGRAMMING
- The intercom in the resident’s flat can be set to flash the green “I’m OK” light and sound a beep every 20 seconds during a pre-set period each day. The beep every 20 seconds can be turned off.
- If the resident is up and about and feeling “OK” they can press the “I’m OK” button on their intercom to stop the alert and clear their flat number from a list in the Advent XT2 memory.
- The flat numbers of the residents that HAVE NOT responded “I’m OK” can be checked on the Manager’s Panel.
- Note: they can also be called/listed using the handset; press and wait for the “Manager’s mode – Ready” prompt; then enter 3000 to call or 3001* to list.
- The I’m OK feature can be temporarily disabled by selecting “Away Mode” on the resident’s intercom.
- From Settings on the Home page, enter the Manager (or Engineer) password, then press the Programming button.
- Select the I’m OK option from the tabs at the bottom of the screen.
- Press Flat ID and use the on-screen keypad to enter the flat number required.
- Press the Request button to view the current I’m OK settings for the flat number selected.
- Press Start/End Time and use the keypad to enter the start and end times for the I’m OK monitoring period;
- Press Rtn on the keypad and buttons for the days of the week will be displayed.
- Select which days Monday to Sunday that the I’m OK time feature will be active – blue is enabled, grey disabled.
- Set Alarm Enabled to enable the feature – blue is enabled, grey disabled.
- Set Sounder Enabled to sound beeps during the I’m OK period – blue is enabled, grey disabled.
- Set the Tenant OK on Alarm to accept any alarm call as I’m OK – blue is enabled, grey disabled. Press the Send button to update the XT2 system.
- Repeat for another flat number.
- Press Table to view a list of I’m OK settings for all flats;
- Press Close when done.
CLIENT WANDERING PROGRAMMING
- An optional 869MHz radio door contact can be used to monitor if a resident leaves their flat during a pre-set period each day. The start and end times can be set on an individual flat basis. If a resident leaves their flat during the set period a wandering alarm will be reported.
- From Settings on the Home page, enter the Manager (or Engineer) password, then press the Programming button.
- Select the Client Wander option from the tabs at the bottom of the screen.
- Press Flat ID and use the on-screen keypad to enter the flat number required.
- Press the Request button to view the current Client Wandering settings for the flat number selected.
- Press Start/End Time and use the keypad to enter the start and end times for the monitoring period;
- Press Rtn on the keypad and buttons for the days of the week will be displayed;
- Select which days Monday to Sunday the wandering feature will be active – blue is enabled, grey disabled.
- Set Wander Enabled to enable the feature – blue is enabled, grey disabled.
- Press the Send button to update the XT2 system.
- Repeat for another flat number.
- Press Table to view a list of Client Wandering settings for all flats.
- Press Close when done.
CALL ROUTING PROGRAMMING
- Call Routing is used to set a direction (onsite/offsite) and the specific extension or offsite telephone number that a call will be routed to on an individual flat basis during a set period each day. Up to 8 routes can be set per flat.
- From Settings on the Home page, enter the Manager (or Engineer) password, then press the Programming button. Select the Call Routing option from the tabs along the bottom of the screen.
- Press Flat ID and use the on-screen keypad to enter the flat number required.
- Press the Request button to view the current Call Routing settings for the flat number selected.
- Press Route Number and select from 01 to 08;
- Press Direction and select from Onsite, Offsite or Digital;
- Press Telephone Route and select from telephone numbers 01-16 or personal recipient numbers PR1-PR3;
- Press Start/End Time and use the keypad to enter the start and end times for the call routing;
- Press Rtn on the keypad and buttons for the days of the week will be displayed;
- Select which days Monday to Sunday that the call routing feature will be active – blue is enabled, grey disabled.
- Press the Send button to update the XT2 system.
- Repeat for another flat number.
- Press Table to view a list of Call Routing settings for all flats.
- Press Close when done.
ALARM CALL ROUTING PROGRAMMING
- This is the same as Call Routing but also allows specific alarm types to be routed differently.
- Note: settings made on the Alarm Type Routing page have priority over the settings on the Call Routing page.
- From Settings on the Home page, enter the Manager (or Engineer) password, then press the Programming button.
- Select the Alarm Call Routing option from the tabs at the bottom of the screen.
- Press Flat ID and use the on-screen keypad to enter the flat number required.
- Press the Request button to view the current Alarm Call Routing settings for the flat number selected.
- Press Route Number and select from 01 to 08;
- Press Direction and select from Onsite, Offsite or Digital;
- Press Telephone Route and select from telephone numbers 01-16 or personal recipient numbers PR1-PR3;
- Press Alarm Type 1 and select from the list of options;
- Press Alarm Type 2/3/4 and set up to 4 different alarm type sensors from the options listed.
- Press Start/End Time and use the keypad to enter the start and end times for the alarm call routing;
- Press Rtn on the keypad and buttons for the days of the week will be displayed.
- Select which days Monday to Sunday that the call routing feature will be active – blue is enabled, grey disabled.
- Select the General/Home/Away/Intruder/Logged buttons to enable specific alarm types – blue is enabled, grey disabled.
- Press the Send button to update the XT2 system.
- Repeat for another flat number.
- Press Table to view a list of Alarm Call Routing settings for all flats.
- Press Close when done.
CHANGE PASSWORD
Press the Settings button on the Home page and the Enter Password box will appear as below;
- Press the Manager (or Engineer) button and enter the Manager (or Engineer) 4-digit password.
- The Settings screen will be displayed as below;
- The Change Password button is used to change the user, Manager, and Engineer passwords.
- Press the Change Password button;
- If you log in as an Engineer you can change all 3 passwords; Engineer, Manager, and User.
- If you login as a Manager you can only change 2 passwords; Manager and User.
- If you Logon as a User you cannot change any passwords.
- Engineer – access to all user features and system setup
- Manager – access to all user features
- User – change system operating mode only
- Press the Engineer, Manager, or User button for the password you want to change.
- Use the on-screen keypad to enter a new 4-digit password in the Password box below.
- Enter the same new 4-digit password in the Confirm Password box
- Press the Change button to save the new password.
- Press Close when done.
