Safety

Read this manual and safety instructions carefully and make sure you understand the contents before using the appliance with the appropriate parts. Failure to comply with all instructions can cause material damage and/or serious injury.
Any use of the device other than described in the user manual is considered unintended use and may result in property damage and non-material damage to you or others, the device, your other property or property of others, and may void the warranty.

1.1. Safety warnings and regulations
DANGER!

  • Fire hazard. This appliance is only suitable for heating in wellinsulated areas or for occasional use. This appliance may not be used for other applications such as heating vehicles.
  • Fire hazard. The appliance is intended for wall-mounting and stand-alone use.

WARNING!
Risk of burns.

  • This appliance may be used by children from eight years of age and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been trained in the safe use of the appliance and that they understand the associated dangers.
  • This appliance must not be used by children under 8 years of age.
  • This appliance and its components are not toys, so children should not play with the appliance or its components.
  • Children, legally incompetent persons and domestic animals must be supervised while using the appliance. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Danger of entrapment due to tilting the appliance. Do not climb, sit or stand on the appliance.

1.2. Safety instructions: installation
DANGER!
Fire hazard.

  •  Always install the appliance in accordance with the installation instructions.

  • This appliance is not intended for use as a built-in appliance.
    This appliance is only suitable for free-standing installation and mounting on the wall, according to the instructions in these instructions for use.

  • Keep the vents in the appliance housing open.

  • Make sure that the power cable is not stuck or damaged during installation or positioning the appliance.

  • Only connect the appliance to a fixed power socket. Do not use an extension lead, multiple socket, plug adapter, junction box or table socket etc.

  • Fully unroll the appliance’s power cable before plugging it into the socket. This is to prevent heat generation in the cable.

  • Never place the device near flammable materials. Please make sure that the distance between the device and flammable materials is a minimum of 1 metre.

  • Always place the appliance horizontally on a flat and stable surface.

  • Always place the device on a heat-resistant surface.

  • Do not install the appliance in direct sunlight or heat sources such as radiators, heating grids and hobs.

  • Never place the device directly under a wall socket. The power cable could touch the heating element, this can cause the plastic insulation to melt.

  • Ensure that the appliance cannot be knocked over when installed free-standing.

  • Keep textiles, curtains and other flammable materials at a distance of at least one metre from the appliance or air outlets.

WARNING!

  • Electrocution hazard due to short circuit: Always place the device on a dry and moisture-resistant surface.
  • Risk of suffocation. Never let children play with the packaging material. Keep the packaging material out of reach of children.
  • Risk of damage to the device. This appliance is for indoor use only. This appliance should not be used outdoors.

1.3. Safety instructions: use
1.3.1. Safety of persons
DANGER!
Fire hazard.

  • Do not use the appliance for drying e.g. towels and clothing, or for similar applications.
  • In the continuous heating position, there is no provision that controls room temperature and the appliance continuously heats.
  • Unplug the appliance if you hear strange noises, smell an odour or see smoke.

WARNING!

  • Risk of suffocation. The appliance must not be used in a small room if there are people in the room who cannot leave the room on their own and who are not under continuous supervision.

CAUTION!

  • Trip hazard. Ensure that the plug and socket are clearly visible and accessible at all times.
  • Trip hazard. Never leave the power cable in such a way that someone could trip over it or accidentally pull it.
  • Risk of burns. Always be alert and act with caution. Do not use electrical appliances if you suffer from impaired concentration or lack of awareness, or if you are under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Even the slightest distraction can lead to serious accidents and injuries when using electrical appliances.
  • Risk of burns. The surface of the appliance can get hot. Never touch hot parts of the appliance. Do not touch anything except the control panel, or wait until the appliance has cooled down completely.

1.3.2. Safety in use
DANGER!
Fire hazard.

  • Never leave the device unattended when in use. Turn off and unplug the device when you leave the room.
  • Never wind the power cable around the device. Completely unwind the power cable before use.
  • Do not use the appliance if any of its components are damaged or faulty. Replace a damaged or faulty appliance immediately. Unplug the plug and contact customer service.
  • Never use the appliance on or near other heat sources.
  • Do not use near sources of fire, splashing oil or water.
  • Never cover the device.
  • Do not block the air flow to the air inlets or outlets of the device.
  • Never remove the safety warnings, stickers and safety labels from the appliance. Keep all safety warnings, stickers and safety labels in good, legible condition.
  • Explosion hazard due to heat radiation. Never use the appliance near explosive substances.

WARNING!
Electrocution hazard due to short circuit.

  • Never operate the device with wet hands.
  • Never use the device in a damp space, like a bathroom, or nearby a bath, shower or swimming pool.
  • Do not use the appliance if it is damp.

NOTICE!
Risk of damage to the device.

  • This appliance is intended for domestic use and similar applications, such as:
    – staff kitchens in shops, offices and other work environments;
    – farms and guests in hotels, motels, B&Bs and other residential environments;
    – catering and similar non-retail applications.

  • Never pull the power cable to disconnect the plug from the  socket. Always hold the plug firmly and pull it straight out of the socket.

  • Please make sure you have fully assembled the device before using it.

  • Do not use paint, cleaning sprays, anti-insect sprays, etc. on or near the appliance.

1.4. Safety regulations: electrical safety
DANGER!
Fire hazard.

  • Only use the power cable installed on the appliance from the factory. Do not change the power cable.
  • Before use, check that the socket you want to use has no defects, that it is earthed and an earth leakage circuit breaker is connected in accordance with the legal regulations. If this is not clear, contact a qualified electrician.
  • Before use, check that the voltage on the socket you want to use matches that on the type plate of the appliance (220- 240V AC, 50/60Hz). Damage caused by faulty voltage is not covered by the guarantee. Only connect the appliance to an earthed power socket.
  • The appliance has a thermal protection to prevent fire. To prevent accidental resetting of this thermal protection, this appliance must not be connected to an external switching appliance, such as a timer, or be connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the energy supplier.
  • Never use the device if a part is damaged or faulty. Replace a damaged or faulty device immediately. Disconnect the power cable from the wall socket and contact customer service.
  • Never use the device if the power cable is damaged. The power cable may only be replaced by an authorised service technician.
  • Do not insert fingers or objects such as pens through the grills in the appliance and especially warn children of these dangers.
  • Never drop the appliance and avoid bumping. Excessive vibrations can lead to loose connections and affect the proper functioning of the appliance. Do not use the appliance any more if it has been dropped.
  • Do not pass the power cable under a carpet or cover it with mats, runners and the like. This can lead to unforeseen heat generation.
  • Switch off the appliance and remove the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use.
  • Never pull the power cable to carry or move the appliance or to disconnect the plug from the socket. Keep the power cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts. Do not make any changes to the power cable or submerge it in water or other liquids. Do not turn or kink the power cable, do not roll up the power cable too tightly after use and do not wind it up around the appliance; this can damage the insulation layer.

WARNING!

  • Electrocution hazard due to short circuit: The plug has an earth connection. Do not remove the earth contacts from the plug.
  • Electrocution hazard due to short circuit: Do not use the  appliance barefoot.

CAUTION!

  • Trip hazard. The appliance has a short power cable to reduce the risk of entanglement or tripping over a longer power cable.
    Avoid using extension cables as much as possible. If this is unavoidable:
    – use an extension cable with at least the same or higher electrical capacity as stated on the appliance;
    – use a three-wire grounded extension cable;
    – lay the extension cable so that children cannot pull on it or trip over it.

1.5. Safety instructions: cleaning
DANGER!

  • Fire hazard. Clean the ventilation openings regularly to avoid dust accumulation.

WARNING!
Electrocution hazard due to short circuit.

  •  Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.
  • Never submerge the device in water or other fluids.
  • Never spray liquid onto the appliance and make sure no water gets into it.
  • Do not use a steam cleaner to clean the appliance.
  • Risk of burns. Let the device cool down completely and pull the plug out of the wall socket before you clean the device.

NOTICE!

  • Risk of damage to the device. Never clean the device with aggressive chemical cleaning agents that could damage the device.

1.6. Safety instruction: Repairs
WARNING!
Electrocution hazard due to short circuit.

  • It is not permitted to open, change or repair the appliance yourself. Do not drill holes into the appliance anywhere to avoid dangerous situations. The appliance, plug and/or cable must be repaired and/or replaced by an electrician or an equivalent qualified person. Repairs by amateurs invalidate the guarantee and can cause dangerous situations!
  • Never open the device. The device may only be opened for maintenance by an authorised service technician.
  • Never touch the internal components. This can cause serious injury and even death.
  • Always remove the plug from the socket and allow the appliance to cool completely before carrying out any repairs.
  • Repairs, maintenance and all other possible work on the appliance not described in these instructions for use may not be carried out by the end user. Please contact customer service for more information. See Foreword for the contact details.

2.1. Description of the device
The Premium Gothenburg 2000 is a convector heater with infrared function suitable for heating well-insulated rooms. Thanks to the infrared function, heat is released into the room via the mesh on the front of the appliance. IR-C heat penetrates deep into the body. The built-in thermostat measures the current ambient temperature and automatically switches off the appliance when the set temperature is reached.
When the temperature in the room falls below the set temperature, the appliance is automatically switched on again. Furthermore, the appliance allows for different programmes to be set for each day of the week.

Installation

Read and follow all the instructions in section 1.Safety.
3.1. Removing packaging material and checking
WARNING!

  • Risk of suffocation. Never let children play with the packaging material. Keep the packaging material out of reach of children.
  1. Remove all packaging material and any transport attachments present (e.g. tape, tie-wraps, cable ties and protective film).
  2. Check that all parts are present and that there is no damage to the appliance or accessories.

3.3. Required tools
To install the appliance free-standing:

  • Crosshead screwdriver

To mount the appliance onto the wall:

  • Crosshead screwdriver
  • Level
  • Pencil
  • Drill
  • Stone or concrete drill Ø8 mm

3.4. Installing the appliance: free-standing

  1. Place the heater upside down on a flat, stable, soft surface.
  2. Place the bases over the holes in the bottom of the heater.
  3. Tighten the feet to the heater using the screws for the feet and a crosshead screwdriver.

3.5. Mounting the appliance: wall mounting

  1. Place the heater face down on a flat, stable, soft surface.
  2. Mount the wall brackets on the back of the heater using the wall bracket screws and a crosshead screwdriver.
  3. Mark out three holes on the wall as shown in the image above.
  4. Drill three Ø8 mm holes in the wall with a stone or concrete drill.
  5. Insert the wall plugs into the holes drilled in the wall.
  6. Screw the wall screws into the wall. Make sure the screws protrude approx. 3 mm.
  7. Slide the heater over the screws in the wall.
  8. Slide the heater down slightly and then to the left to hang the heater on the screws.

4.2. Operating the appliance
CAUTION!

  • Risk of burns. The surface of the appliance can get hot. Never touch hot parts of the appliance. Do not touch anything except the control panel, or wait until the appliance has cooled down completely.

NOTICE!

  • Risk of damage to the device. Please make sure you have fully assembled the device before using it.
  1. Plug the power cable into a wall socket.
    There is a sound signal. The appliance is in standby mode.

  2. Press the standby button to turn on the appliance.
    NOTE
    There may be some vapour and odour when the device is used for the first time or after a long period of non-use. This is normal and will stop after a short period of time.

  3. Set the desired room temperature using the plus and minus buttons.
    NOTE
    • The appliance automatically heats the room to the set room temperature. When the desired temperature is reached, the appliance automatically stops heating.

  4. Press the standby button to turn off the appliance.
    There is a sound signal. The appliance is in standby mode.

4.3. Overview of functions

5. Press the timer button to confirm the hour selection.

6. Press the plus and minus buttons to set the number of minutes of the time.
7. Press the timer button to confirm the minute selection.
| Mode setting| Press the mode button repeatedly to select a mode (comfort mode → ECO mode → P1 → P2 → P3 → antifreeze mode → comfort mode etc.).
| Comfort mode| Press the plus and minus buttons to set the room temperature between 5°C and 35°C.
The appliance automatically heats the room to the set room temperature. The heating status indicator lights up red.
When the desired temperature is reached, the appliance automatically stops heating.
The heating status indicator switches off.
| ECO mode| Press the plus and minus buttons to set the room temperature between 5°C and 35°C.
The heating status indicator lights up red, orange, or yellow.
The heating status indicator colour changes as the detected room temperature gets closer to the set room temperature.
Power is gradually reduced to save energy.
| Antifreeze mode| The room temperature is set to 7°C.
NOTE
The room temperature cannot be adjusted in antifreeze mode.
| Preset heating programme| NOTE
If the clock and day settings have not yet been set, you must first set the day and clock settings when activating a preset heating programme for the first time.

9. Press the plus button to set the next day when the hour is set to 23.
10. Repeat steps 3 to 9 to set the other days.
11. Press the plus button when the hour is set to 23 and the day to to confirm the heating programme.
| Open-window function| 1. Press the mode and plus buttons simultaneously to enable the openwindow function. The display indicates FO.
When the room temperature drops 2°C within two minutes, the openwindow function is automatically
switched on. flashes on the display.
The appliance stops heating.
2. Press the mode or standby button to exit the open-window function.
3. Press the mode and minusbuttons simultaneously to disable the openwindow function. The display indicates FF.

Cleaning and maintenance

Read and follow all the instructions in section 1.Safety.
WARNING!
Electrocution hazard due to short circuit.

  • Always unplug the appliance before cleaning.
  • Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.
  • Never submerge the device in water or other fluids.
  • Risk of burns. Let the device cool down completely and pull the plug out of the wall socket before you clean the device.

NOTICE!

• Risk of damage to the device. Never clean the device with aggressive chemical cleaning agents that could damage the device.

Clean the device once every three months

  1. Pull the power cable from the wall socket.
  2. Wait for the appliance to cool down completely.
  3. Clean the air inlet and air outlet with a vacuum cleaner.
  4. Clean the outside of the device with a soft, damp cloth.
  5. Dry all parts with a soft cloth.

Faults and solutions

WARNING!

  • Electrocution hazard due to short circuit. Never open the device. The device may only be opened for maintenance by an authorised service technician.
  • Electrocution hazard due to short circuit. Repairs, maintenance and all other possible work on the appliance not described in these instructions for use may not be carried out by the end user. Please contact customer service for more information. See Foreword for the contact details.
    Some problems can be easily solved by yourself using the table below.
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
The appliance does not heat or heats to a lesser extent. The plug is not
inserted properly. Insert the plug properly.
There is no voltage on the socket. Plug another appliance into the socket to

check if the socket is faulty. In the case of a faulty socket,
have it repaired by an electrician.
The temperature is set too low; the thermostat then switches the appliance off.| Set a higher temperature, see Section 4.2. Operating the appliance.
The fuse is blown or defective.| Check the fuse in the meter cabinet and replace if necessary.
ECO mode is enabled.| In ECO mode, the appliance automatically heats the room to the set room temperature. Power
is gradually reduced to save energy.
The room in which the appliance is used is too
large or inadequately insulated.| Wait a few hours until the appliance has had the opportunity to heat the room.
The appliance emits a strange smell.| There may be some vapour and odour when
the device is used for the first time or after a long period of non-use.| The vapour or smell is normal and disappears on its own after some time.
The display or control panel does not work.| The lighting of the display is switched off.| The display switches off after some time of inactivity. Touch one of the buttons to turn the display back on.
The display is defective.| Please contact customer service.
The appliance switches off after some time.| The appliance is automatically disabled by the timer setting.| Press the standby button to turn on the appliance.
The display indicates
error code .| The appliance has a technical problem.| Please contact customer service.

Taking out of service

DANGER!

  1. Press the standby button to turn off the appliance.
  2. Pull the power cable from the wall socket.
  3. Wait for the appliance to cool down completely.
  4. Clean the appliance. Follow the instructions in chapter 5. Cleaning and maintenance.
  5. Store the cleaned appliance in a dry, ventilated place, preferably packaged in the original packaging. Make sure the appliance is on a level surface and do not place heavy objects on top.

Waste disposal

8.1. Dispose of the appliance as waste
This symbol indicates that the device must not be disposed of with other household waste within the EU. By disposing of the device properly, you help to prevent possible dangers to the environment and human health.
The recycling of materials contributes to the conservation of natural resources. Therefore, do not dispose of discarded electronic devices with household waste. When disposing of the device, follow the national and local regulations regarding the environmentally friendly disposal of electronic equipment. You can also contact Coolblue when you no longer want to use the device or you can return the device to a Coolblue store of your choice.

8.2. Dispose of the packaging material as waste
Dispose of the packaging material through your local recycling facility. By properly disposing of packaging material and packaging waste, you help prevent potential risks to the environment and public health. The symbol on the packaging indicates that the packaging is made of cardboard.
