Unpacking the appliance

RISK OF SUFFOCATION!

Keep packaging materials out of reach of children. Packaging materials are not toys. WARNING!

Do not use a damaged appliance but contact customer service. See Foreword for the contact details.

To turn the appliance on:

  1. Remove all packaging material and any transport attachments present (e.g. tape, tie-wraps, cable ties and protective film).
  2. Check that all parts are present and that the appliance and accessories are not damaged.

Installing the appliance

WARNING!

Do not connect the appliance to the power supply until it is installed as instructed.

Install the stand on the base:

  1. Remove the nut from the bottom of the pedestal by unscrewing it
  2. Take care not to force the installation of the pedestal; it only fits one way.

  1. Remove the blade nut from the motor shaft by loosening the blade nut clockwise (NOTE, this will loosen by turning the other way than you are used to). Hold the metal shaft while loosening.

    Loosen the rear guard from the front guard: firmly hold both guards and rotate the rear guard anticlockwise. Remove the protective foam from the fan blade. Place the rear guard on the fan motor. The guard has five retaining pins that should engage with the slots of the fan motor housing. Secure the rear guard to the fan motor with the lock nut.   5. Place the fan blade correctly on the motor shaft The slot in the back of the fan blade should fall over the (perpendicular) pin of the shaft.

Install the front guard:

Place the front guard on the fan. Put the guard straight on the fan and tighten it clockwise. If the guard is not fixed after turning, position the guard so that the slots of the front guard fall into the retaining pins of the rear guard. Using the screwdriver provided, screw the metal screw into the hole in the fan guard to secure the front guard.

Ready the remote control for use:

Carefully pull the transparent strip out of the remote control battery compartment. The battery now makes contact and the remote control is ready for use. The back of the remote control is magnetic. The remote control can be attached to the metal part of the pedestal.

Ready the fan for use:

Fully unroll the power cable of the appliance. The appliance is now ready for use. Insert the plug in the socket. For information on connecting and using the appliance, see the Use section.

The remote control.

The range of the remote control is about five metres if the remote control is pointed directly at the signal receiver (L), at the front of the base.

Turning the appliance on and off

Before using the appliance, check that:

  • The appliance is installed according to the regulations and safety Do not use the appliance until installed as instructed!

Insert the appliance’s plug into the socket. The unit will give a beep and is in standby mode.

To turn the appliance on:

Press the power button to turn on the appliance. The control panel lights up. Set the desired function. See Control Panel Usage and Remote Control Usage for more information.

To turn the appliance off:

Press the power button to turn off the appliance. The appliance switches off (standby mode). Insert the appliance’s plug into the socket.

Using the fan

Description of the use of the functions on the control panel and the remote control.

To set a scheduled shutdown:

  • Press the power button to turn on the
  • Touch the on/off button The screen flashes and displays the set
  • Touch the timer off button within five seconds and repeat until the screen shows the desired

The switch-off timer is cleared when the appliance is turned off manually. To turn off a planned shutdown:

This function is only available on the remote control. Press this button to deactivate the display.

Remote control

All keys on the remote control match the keys on the control panel. The back of the remote control is magnetic. The remote control can be attached to the metal part of the pedestal.

Setting the height of the fan

To adjust the fan height:

Hold the fan at the top of the extension pole (F). Press and hold the height adjustment button (G). The extension pole is now unlocked. Adjust the extension pole (F) to the desired height. Release the height adjustment button (G). Then move the extension pole (F) slightly up or down until a click is audible. The extension pole is now locked.

Cleaning and maintenance

Important information

To clean the housing:

Thorough cleaning

Depending on the level of use and the operating environment, dust and other dirt may have ended up on the fan blade and/or the inside of both guards. In this case, more thorough cleaning is required.

To clean the appliance thoroughly:

Replacing the battery in the remote control

The battery of the remote control is a button cell of type CR2025. Do not use any other batteries.

To replace the battery:

  1. Hold the remote control so that the buttons face
  2. Slightly pinch the protruding points of the battery
  3. Then pull the battery compartment out of the remote
  4. Remove the old battery.
  5. Insert a new battery into the battery compartment
  6. Slide the battery compartment back into the remote control.

Malfunctions and solutions

The following cases are not always a fault. See the possible solutions before asking for service.

The appliance does not start when the on/off button is pressed or the ON/OFF button of the remote control is pressed.| The appliance has no power.
