1.1. Safety symbols and labels on the device

1.2. Safety warnings and regulations
Please make sure that you have completely read and understood the safety instructions, before you install, use or perform maintenance on the device. This will prevent possible material damage and immaterial damage to you or others, the device, your other property or the property of others.
WARNING
Fire hazard due to short circuit:

  • Never leave the device unattended when in use. Turn off and unplug the device when you leave the room.
  • Never wind the power cable around the device. Completely unwind the power cable before use.
  • Do not use extension cords or power strips with this device.
  • Before using the device, check that the voltage indicated on the type plate matches the voltage of the wall socket. Connect the device to a grounded wall socket only.
  • When inserting the batteries into the remote control, please make sure that the plus (+) and minus (-) marks on the battery match the plus (+) and minus (-) marks on the device.
  • Never use a battery that is not designed for use with the remote control.

Fire hazard due to highly flammable materials:

• Never place the device near flammable materials. Please make sure that the distance between the device and flammable materials is a minimum of 1 metre.

Fire hazard due to overheating:

  • Never use the device on top of or nearby other heat sources.
  • Never cover the device.
  • Do not block the air flow to the air inlets or outlets of the device.
  • Never use a timer or separate remote control that turns the device on automatically.

Fire hazard due to instability:

  • Always place the device on a flat and stable surface.

Danger of chemical burns from battery acid:

  • Always keep batteries out of the reach of children to prevent the risk of swallowing the batteries. Examine the remote control regularly and make sure that the battery compartment is properly secured. Immediately seek medical attention when you suspect that a battery has been swallowed. Do not allow the child to eat or drink and do not induce vomiting if the battery has been swallowed.
  • If the battery is leaking, avoid contact with the battery acid.
    • In case of contact with the battery acid in the eyes: Rinse the eyes directly with water for a minimum of 10 minutes. Consult a doctor immediately.
    • In case of contact with the battery acid with the skin: Rinse the skin directly with water.

Explosion hazard due to heat radiation:

  • Never use the device near explosive materials.

Explosion hazard due to flammable materials:

  • Do not dispose of the device in the household waste. When disposing of the device, follow the national and local regulations regarding the environmentally friendly disposal of the device.
  • Never disassemble, open or shred batteries.

Electrocution hazard due to short circuit:

  • Never use the device if a part is damaged or faulty. Replace a damaged or faulty device immediately. Disconnect the power cable from the wall socket and contact customer service.
  • Never open the device. The device may only be opened for maintenance by an authorised service technician.
  • Never place the device directly under a wall socket. The power cable could touch the heating element, this can cause the plastic insulation to melt.
  • Never submerge the device in water or other fluids.
  • Never operate the device with wet hands.
  • Always place the device on a dry and moisture-resistant surface.
  • Never use the device in a damp space, like a bathroom, or nearby a bath, shower or swimming pool.
  • Never use the device if the power cable is damaged. The power cable may only be replaced by an authorised service technician.

  • Never allow children to play with the packaging material. Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children.
  • Only use the device in a well ventilated space.
  • Never use the device in small rooms, where there are persons who are not able to leave the room on their own, unless there is constant supervision.

CAUTION

  • Never leave the power cable hanging out in a way that someone might trip over it or accidentally pull it.

Risk of burns from heat:

  • Let the device cool down completely and pull the plug out of the wall socket before you clean the device.
  • Never touch the hot parts of the device. Only touch the operating panel or wait until the device is cooled down completely.
  • Always place the device on a heat-resistant surface.
  • Always supervise children when the device is in use to ensure they do not play with the device.
  • This device is filled with a precise amount of special oil. Never repair or modify the device yourself. For maintenance please contact the supplier.

NOTICE
Risk of damage to the device:

  • Never clean the device with aggressive chemical cleaning agents that could damage the device.
  • Never drop the device and avoid bumping it. Excessive vibration may cause loose connections and affect the proper functioning of the device. Never use the device if the device has been dropped.
  • Keep the batteries clean and dry. Clean the batteries with a clean dry cloth when the batteries have become dirty.
  • Please make sure you have fully assembled the device before using it.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEVICE

2.1. Description of the device
The Oslo 2500 is an oil heater that is suitable for heating well ventilated spaces. The built-in thermostat measures the current ambient temperature and turns the device off automatically when the set temperature has been reached. When the temperature in the space drops below the set temperature, the device will be turned back on automatically.
2.2. Intended use and foreseeable unintended use
This device is intended for indoor use only.
This device is not intended for use in damp spaces, like a bathroom, or nearby a bath, shower or swimming pool.
This device is intended for use in domestic and similar applications, like:

  • staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
  • farms;
  • use by customers in hotels, motels and other residential areas;
  • “bed and breakfast”-like environments.

This device is not meant for use by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental capacity or with lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are under supervision or received instruciton regarding the use of the device from someone who is responsible for their safety.
Any use of the device other than described in the user manual is considered unintended use and may result in property damage and non-material damage to you or others, the device, your other property or property of others, and may void the warranty.

INSTALLATION

3.1. Removing packaging material and checking
WARNING

Danger of suffocation due to lack of oxygen:

  • Never allow children to play with the packaging material. Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children.
  1. Remove the packaging material from the device.
    NOTE
    • Keep the packaging material for storage purposes.

  2. Check the contents of the packaging against the image B.
    NOTE
    • If any parts are missing or damaged, please contact Coolblue.

3.3. Assembling the device
NOTICE
Risk of damage to the device:

  • Please make sure you have fully assembled the device before using it.
  1. Place the heater 1 upside down on a fl at, stable, surface.
    NOTE
    • Place a soft cloth under the heater 1 to avoid damage.

  2. Slide the U-shaped brackets 7 through one of the inner holes of the bases 8 .
    NOTE
    • Please note the orientation of the bases. See image C

  3. Hook the U-shaped brackets 7 through the outer bars of the heater.

  4. Slide the U-shaped brackets 7 through one of the inner holes of the base 8 .

  5. Screw the U- shaped brackets 7 into the bases 8 using a wing nut 6 .

  6. Place the castor wheels 9 in the outer holes of the bases 8 .

  7. Screw the cap nuts 5 onto the castors 9 .

3 . 4 . Placing the battery in the remote control

  1.  Press on the tab of the battery compartment w and pull out the battery compartment w .
  2. Place the battery in the battery compartment w with the plus side facing up.
  3. Slide the battery compartment w back into the remote control q .

4.2. Using the device

  1. Always place the device on a fl at, heat and moisture resistant surface.

  2. Plug the power cable 3 into a wall socket.

  3. Press the on/off switch y to set the device in standby mode.
    The control panel briefl y lights up. An audible signal sounds.
    Afterwards, only the on/off switch y remains lit up.

  4. Press the on/off switch y again to restart the device.
    The control panel lights up. An audible signal sounds. The display e fl ashes.

4.3. Setting the heat settings

  1. Press the mode button i.
    The display e flashes.

  2. Press the plus button t or the minus button r to select the capacity.
    – P1: 1000 W
    – P2: 1500 W
    – P3: 2500 W

  3. Wait 3 seconds. After 3 seconds your choice is confirmed.

4.4. Manually setting the temperature

  1. Press the mode button i twice.
    The display e flashes.

  2. Press the plus button t or the minus button r to set the temperature.
    NOTE
    • The termperature can be set between 10°C – 35°C/50°F – 95°F.
    Wait 5 seconds. After 5 seconds your choice is confirmed.

  3. The display e indicates the current temperature
    NOTE
    • The set temperature is reached when the temperature indicator LED u lights up.

4.5. Setting Celsius or Fahrenheit
Hold down the mode button i to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
4.6. Setting the timer

  1. Press the mode button i three times.
    The display e flashes.

  2. Press the plus button t or the minus button r to set the timer time.

NOTE

  • The timer time can be set between 1 – 24 hours.
    Wait 5 seconds. After 5 seconds your choice is confirmed. The device switches off automatically after the set amount of hours.

NOTE

  • The display e switches every 5 seconds between displaying the current temperature and the remaining hours of the timer.
  • Restart the device to turn off the timer.

4.7. After use

  1. Press the on/off switch y to switch off the device.
    The operating panel turns off. Only the on-/off switch y remains lit up.

  2. Press the on-/off switch y again to compeletely switch off the device.

  3. Let the device cool down.

  4. Pull the power cable 3 from the wall socket.

NOTE

  • The device remembers the set temperature for the next use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENENCE

WARNING
Electrocution hazard due to short circuit

  • Never submerge the device in water or other fluids.

CAUTION
Risk of burns from heat:

  • Let the device cool down completely and pull the plug out of the wall socket before you clean the device.

NOTICE

Risk of damage to the device:

  • Never clean the device with aggressive chemical cleaning agents that could damage the device.

Clean the device once every three months

  1. Clean the outside of the device with a soft, damp cloth.
  2. Dry all parts with a soft cloth.

STORAGE

When you are not using the device, store the device in the original packaging in a dry space.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Error code Potential solution
E0 Reset the device.
E1/ E2 An authorised service technician is required to solve the problem.
