Safety warnings and regulations

Please make sure that you have completely read and understood the safety instructions, before you install, use or perform maintenance on the device. This will prevent possible material damage and immaterial damage to you or others, the device, your other property or the property of others.

WARNING

Fire hazard due to short circuit:

  • Never leave the device unattended when in use. Turn off and unplug the device when you leave the room.
  • Never wind the power cable around the device. Completely unwind the power cable before use.
  • Do not use extension cords or power strips with this device.
  • Before using the device, check that the voltage indicated on the type plate matches the voltage of the wall socket. Connect the device to a grounded wall socket only.

Fire hazard due to highly flammable materials:

  • Never place the device near flammable materials. Please make sure that the distance between the device and flammable materials is a minimum of 1 metre.

Fire hazard due to overheating:

  • Never use the device on top of or nearby other heat sources.
  • Never cover the device.
  • Do not block the air flow to the air inlets or outlets of the device.
  • Never use a timer or separate remote control that turns the device on automatically.
  • Clean the ventilation openings regularly to avoid dust accumulation.

Fire hazard due to instability:

  • Always place the device on a flat and stable surface.

Explosion hazard due to heat radiation:

  • Never use the device near explosive materials.

Electrocution hazard due to short circuit:

  • Never use the device if a part is damaged or faulty. Replace a damaged or faulty device immediately. Disconnect the power cable from the wall socket and contact customer service.
  • Never open the device. The device may only be opened for maintenance by an authorised service technician.
  • Never insert objects into the ventilation openings.
  • Never place the device directly under a wall socket. The power cable could touch the heating element, this can cause the plastic insulation to melt.
  • Never submerge the device in water or other fluids.
  • Never operate the device with wet hands.
  • Always place the device on a dry and moisture-resistant surface.
  • Never use the device in a damp space, like a bathroom, or nearby a bath, shower or swimming pool.
  • Never use the device if the power cable is damaged. The power cable may only be replaced by an authorised service technician.

Danger of suffocation due to lack of oxygen:

  • Never allow children to play with the packaging material. Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children.
  • Only use the device in a well ventilated space.
  • Never use the device in small rooms, where there are persons who are not able to leave the room on their own, unless there is constant supervision.

Tripping hazard due to loose cables:

  • Never leave the power cable hanging out in a way that someone might trip over it or accidentally pull it.

Risk of burns from heat:

  • Let the device cool down completely and pull the plug out of the wall socket before you clean the device.
  • Never touch the hot parts of the device. Only touch the operating panel or wait until the device is cooled down completely.
  • Always place the device on a heat-resistant surface.
  • Always supervise children when the device is in use to ensure they do not play with the device.

NOTICE

Risk of damage to the device:

  • Never clean the device with aggressive chemical cleaning agents that could damage the device.
  • Never drop the device and avoid bumping it. Excessive vibration may cause loose connections and affect the proper functioning of the device. Never use the device if the device has been dropped.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE DEVICE

Description of the device

The Malmö 2000 is a convector heater that is suitable for heating well ventilated spaces. The built-in thermostat measures the current ambient temperature and turns the device off automatically when the set temperature has been reached. When the temperature in the space drops below the set temperature, the device will be turned back on automatically.

Intended use and foreseeable unintended use

  • This device is intended for indoor use only.
  • This device is not intended for use in damp spaces, like a bathroom, or nearby a bath, shower or swimming pool.

This device is intended for use in domestic and similar applications, like:

  • staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
  • farms;
  • use by customers in hotels, motels and other residential areas;
  • “bed and breakfast”-like environments.

This device is not meant for use by persons (including children) with limited physical, sensory or mental capacity or with lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are under supervision or received instruciton regarding the use of the device from someone who is responsible for their safety.
Any use of the device other than described in the user manual is considered unintended use and may result in property damage and non-material damage to you or others, the device, your other property or property of others, and may void the warranty.

INSTALLATION

Removing packaging material and checking !

Danger of suffocation due to lack of oxygen:

  • Never allow children to play with the packaging material. Keep the packaging material out of the reach of children.
  • Remove the packaging material from the device.
  • NOTE
    • Keep the packaging material for storage purposes.
    • Check the contents of the packaging against the image B.
  • NOTE
    • If any parts are missing or damaged, please contact Coolblue.

Risk of damage to the device:

Please make sure you have fully assembled the device before using it.

  1. Place the heater 1 upside down on a fl at, stable, soft surface.
  2. Place the bases 3 over the holes in the bottom of the heater 1 .
  3. Connect the bases 3 to the heater 1 with the self-tapping screw 4 .

USE

  • 6 750 W power button
  • 7 1250 W power button
  • 8 Thermostat switch
  1. Always place the device on a fl at, heat and moisture resistant surface.

  2. Plug the power cable 5 into a wall socket.

  3. Switch the power button 6 7 to select the capacity:

  4. Button 1 : 750 W

  5. Button 2 : 1250 W

  6. Both buttons: 2000 W
    The LED light of the enabled power button 6 7 lights up.

  7. There may be some vapour and odour when the device is used for the fi rst time or after a long period of non-use. This is normal and will stop after a short period of time.

  8. Turn the thermostat switch 8 to MAX.

  9. When the room temperature feels comfortable, slowly turn the thermostat switch 8 backwards until you hear a click.
    The LED light of the enabled power button 67 turns off.

NOTE

The device will automatically heat the room to the set temperature.

After use

  1. Switch the power button 67 upwards.
    The LED light of the disabled power button 67 turns off.

  2. Turn the thermostat switch 8 to MIN to switch off the device.

  3. Pull the power cable 5 from the wall socket

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Electrocution hazard due to short circuit

  • Never submerge the device in water or other fluids.

Risk of burns from heat:

  • Let the device cool down completely and pull the plug out of the wall socket before you clean the device.

Risk of damage to the device:

  • Never clean the device with aggressive chemical cleaning agents that could damage the device.

Clean the device once every three months

  1. Clean the outside of the device with a soft, damp cloth.
  2. Dry all parts with a soft cloth.

STORAGE

When you are not using the device, store the device in the original packaging in a dry space

DISPOSAL

This symbol indicates that the device must not be disposed of with other household waste within the EU. By disposing of the device properly, you help to prevent possible dangers to the environment and human health. The recycling of materials contributes to the conservation of natural resources. Therefore, do not dispose ofdiscarded electronic devices with household waste. When disposing of the device, follow the national and local regulations regarding the environmentally friendly disposal of electronic equipment. You can also contact Coolblue when you no longer want to use the device or you can return the device to a Coolblue store of your choice.

WARRANTY
