INSTRUCTION MANUAL

Thank you for choosing a quality product from motogadget. All motogadget products are developed and manufactured in Germany.

Please read the following information and recommendations thoroughly and follow these in-structions during installations and use of the product. No liability shall be assumde by motoga-dget for damage or defects resulting from negligence or failure to follow the operating and installation guide.

1. Review of Delivery

All products from motogadget are thoroughly checked to ensure they are completely fault-free when dispatched. Please check the received goods immediately for possible transport dama-ge. If you fi nd any damage or other defi ciencies, please contact us immediately.

In this regard, we refer to our General Terms of Business and Delivery, which are published at www.motogadget.com. Should a return of the received delivery be agreed, please note that we only take back goods in their original packaging. The mo.switch and its accessories must be returned within the legal period of time and without any traces of use. We shall not assume any liability for returns which are insuffi ciently insured or packed.

2. Exclusion of Liability

THE DEVICE AND ITS ACCESSORIES MUST BE INSTALLED BY A CERTIFIED MO-TORCYCLE TECHNICAN AND IN AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER. MOTOGADGET ACCEPTS NO LIABILITY FOR DIRECT OR INDIRECT DAMAGE OR SUBSEQUENT DA-MAGE OF ANY KIND RESULTING FROM THE USE, INSTALLATION OR CONNECTION OF THE DEVICE OR OTHER DELIVERED EQUIPMENT. THIS EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY PARTICULARLY INCLUDES DAMAGE TO PERSONS, MATERIAL LOSSES AND FINAN-CIAL DAMAGES. THE USE IN AREAS OF PUBLIC TRAFFIC ENSUES AT THE USER’S OWN RISK. THE USE OF THE DELIVERED DEVICE AND ITS ACCESSORIES FOR RA-CING OR OTHER COMPETITIONS AS WELL AS FOR ANY USE NOT CORRESPONDING TO THE RECOMMENDED APPLICATION ALL WARRANTY CLAIMS SHALL BE INVALID.

3. Safety instructions

• BEFORE ANY WORK ON THE VEHICLE’S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, THE BATTERY MUST TO BE COMPLETELY DISCONNECTED. TO DO SO, AT FIRST THE MINUS POLE AND THEN THE PLUS POLE IS DISCONNECTED. WHEN RECONNECTING, DO IN REVERSE ORDER.
• IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO USE THE MO.REAR AT VEHICLES WITH POSTIVE BATTERY POLE FOR VEHICLE GROUND.
• IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO USE THE MO.REAR ON VEHICLES WITH A 6V ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.
• IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO USE THE MO.REAR ON VEHICLES WITHOUT BATTERY.
• THE MO.REAR MUST BE INSTALLED AND CONNECTED QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS.
• ALL CABLE CROSS SECTIONS MUST MATCH THE CURRENT FLOW.
• ALL ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS IN THE CABLE HARNESS AND ON THE TERMINALS MUST BE PROFESSIONAL AND FLAWLESS.

4. Features

mo.rear is an all-in-one vehicle tail light unit for motorcycles for use within the EU.
When attached to the vehicle in a compliant manner, the light unit complies with the applica-ble EU directives and regulations. There is no obligation to register and no documents need to be carried.

6. Installation according to Category 1 approval (license plate size

240x130mm)

The mo.rear is attached to the rear of the vehicle centrally above the license plate using 2 pieces M4 or M5 screws according to the following sketch:

7. Electrical Connection

The individual wires are connected as follows:

• black: vehicle ground
• red: brake light
• yellow: taillight & license plate light
• green: left turn signal
• white: right turn signal

8. Important Instructions

• The light module must be installed in center and above the license plate, as shown in the installation sketch.
• The license plate must be illuminated evenly and completely.
• The light module is compatible with 12V DC electrical systems with a battery only.
• The connection cable must be routed without kinks or tension and must not be mechanically damaged.
• After assembly, the correct function of the ABS and CAN-BUS warning lights must be checked.
• In modern vehicles an error message may occur due to the lower power consumption of the light unit. In this case, resistors connected in parallel to the respective lamp function can help.
• Before each journey, check that the light unit is functioning correctly.
