Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance. You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information about safety, usage and disposal. Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all instructions regarding safety and use. Use the product only as described and for the specified range of applications. Please also pass on all documents to any future owner.

Intended use

The appliance is only intended for mowing lawns and grass areas in private homes. The appliance is intended for DIY use. This appliance is not intended for continuous commercial use. Commercial use will invalidate the guarantee. Any other use which is not expressly permitted in these operating instructions may damage the appliance and represents a serious risk for the user. The appliance is designed for use by adults. Children and persons who are not familiar with the operating instructions may not use this appliance. The use of the appliance in rain or humid environments is prohibited. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damages caused by improper use or incorrect operation of the appliance. The appliance is part of the Parkside X 20 V TEAM series and can be operated using Parkside X 20 V TEAM batteries. Batteries from the Parkside X 20 V TEAM series may only be charged using Parkside X 20 V TEAM series chargers.

General power tool safety warnings

WARNING!
► Read all safety warnings, instructions, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool.Failure to follow all instructions listed below may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery operated (cordless) power tool.

1. Work area safety
   a) Keep work area clean and well lit.
   Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
   b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
   c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

2. Electrical safety
   a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet.
   Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
   b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
   c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
   d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
   e) When working outdoors with an electrical power tool always use extension cords that are also suitable for use outdoors. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
   f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

3. Personal safety
   a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating a power tool may result in serious personal injury.
   b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear safety goggles. Protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
   c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
   d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
   e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
   f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair and clothing away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
   g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used.
   Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.
   h) Do not allow yourself to get lulled into a false sense of security and do not ignore the safety regulations for power tools, even if you are familiar with the power tool after repeated use. A careless action can cause severe injury within a fraction of a second.

4. Power tool use and care
   a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
   b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
   c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or remove the battery pack, if detachable, from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
   d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children, and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
   e) Maintain power tools and accessories. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation.
   If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
   f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
   g) Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits, etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
   h) Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.

5. Use and handling of the cordless electrical power tool
   a) Only charge rechargeable batteries using the chargers that are recommended by the manufacturer. Chargers are often designed for a particular type of rechargeable battery unit.
   There is a risk of fire if other types of rechargeable battery units are used.
   b) Only the rechargeable battery units supplied are to be used with an electrical power tool. The use of other rechargeable battery units may lead to the danger of injury or fire.
   c) When they are not being used, store rechargeable battery units away from paperclips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that could cause the contacts to be bridged. Short-circuiting the contacts of a rechargeable battery unit may result in heat damage or fire.
   d) Fluids may leak out of rechargeable battery units if they are misused. If this happens, avoid contact with the fluid. If contact occurs, flush the affected area with water. Seek additional medical help if any of the fluid gets into your eyes. Escaping battery fluid may cause skin irritation or burns.
   e) Do not use a damaged or modified battery. Damaged or modified batteries may behave unexpectedly and cause fires, explosions or pose a risk of injury.
   f) Do not expose a battery to fire or excessively high temperatures. Fire or temperatures in excess of 130°C (265°F) can cause an explosion.
   g) Follow all instructions regarding charging and never charge the battery or the cordless tool outside the temperature range given in the operating instructions. Incorrect charging or charging outside of the permissible temperature range can destroy the battery and increase the risk of fire.
   CAUTION! RISK OF EXPLOSION!
   Never charge non-rechargeable batteries.

Protect the rechargeable battery from heat (for example, from continuous exposure to sunlight), fire, water and moisture. There is a risk of explosion.

6. Service
   a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replace-ment parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
   b) Never try to repair damaged batteries.
   Batteries should only be maintained by the manufacturer or an approved customer service centre.

Safety instructions for lawnmowers
a) Do not use the lawnmower in bad weather, especially during a thunderstorm. This reduces the risk of being struck by lightning.
b) Check the area where you are working for wild animals. Wild animals may be injured by the lawnmower while it is operating.
c) Check the working area thoroughly and remove any stones, sticks, wires, bones or any other foreign bodies. Ejected objects can lead to injuries.
d) Before using the lawnmower, check whether the mowing blade and the mower unit are not worn or damaged. Worn or damaged parts increase the risk of injury.
e) Check the grass catcher regularly for wear and tear. A worn or damaged grass catcher increases the risk of injury.
f) Leave the protective covers in place. Protective covers must be operational and fastened properly in place. A loose, damaged or improperly functioning protective cover can cause an injury.
g) Keep cooling air intake openings free of debris. Blocked air intakes and debris can lead to overheating or a risk of fire.
h) Always wear non-slip safety shoes when operating the lawnmower. Never work barefoot or in sandals. This will reduce the risk of foot injuries cause by the rotating blade.
i) Always wear long trousers when operating the lawnmower. Bare skin increases the probability of injuries caused by flying objects.
j) Do not use the lawnmower on wet grass. Walk while mowing; never run. This will reduce the risk of you slipping and falling, which can cause injuries.
k) Do not use the lawnmower on excessively steep slopes. This will reduce the risk of you losing control, slipping and falling, which can cause injuries.
l) When working on a slope, ensure you have firm footing; always work across the slope, never up and down, and be extremely careful when changing direction.

m) Be particularly careful when mowing backwards or when pulling the lawnmower towards yourself. Always be aware of your environment. This will reduce the risk of you tripping while working.
n) Do not touch the blade or other dangerous parts while they are still moving. This will reduce the risk of an injury caused by moving parts.
o) Make sure that all switches are turned off and the battery has been removed before removing trapped material or cleaning the lawnmower. Unexpected activation of the lawnmower can cause serious injury.

Safety instructions when setting up
■ Never allow children or other persons who are not familiar with the operating instructions to use the appliance. Local regulations regarding the minimum age of operators may apply.
■ Never use the appliance while there are bystanders close by, especially children or pets. Do not allow children to play with the appliance.
■ The operator or user is responsible for accidents or damage to other people or their property.
■ Check the area in which the appliance is to be used and remove any stones sticks, wires or other foreign bodies that may be caught and thrown out.
■ Always wear suitable working clothing such as sturdy footwear with non-slip soles and robust long trousers. Do not use the appliance while barefoot or in sandals. Avoid wearing loose clothing or clothing with hanging laces or belts.
■ Always carry out a visual inspection before use to check whether the cutting blade, fixing bolts and the entire cutting unit are worn or damaged. Do not use the appliance if guards (e.g. impact guard or grass catcher), parts of the cutting equipment or bolts are missing, worn or damaged. To avoid an unbalance, worn or damaged cutting blades and fixing bolts should only be replaced as a whole set.
■ Be careful when working with appliances with multiple cutting tools as the movement of one blade can cause the other blades to move.
■ Use only replacement parts and accessories supplied and recommended by the manufacturer.
The use of third-party parts will immediately invalidate your warranty.
■ Worn or damaged warning signs must be replaced.

Safety instructions for working with the appliance

WARNING!
■ Do not place your feet or hands near or under rotating parts when working.
There is a risk of injury!
■ Switch on the motor as instructed and only when your feet are at a safe distance from the cutting tools.
■ Do not use the appliance in the rain, especially during a thunderstorm, in damp environments or on wet grass. Work only in daylight or good artificial lighting.
■ Do not work with the appliance if you are tired or distracted or after consuming alcohol or tablets. Take regular work breaks. Proceed with caution when working.
■ Make sure you have secure footing, especially when mowing on slopes. Always work across the slope, never up and down. Be particularly careful when changing direction. Do not work on excessively steep slopes.
■ Always push the appliance at walking pace. Be particularly careful while turning the appliance or when pulling it towards you or backwards.
■ Switch on the appliance carefully according to the instructions in this manual. Keep your feet at a safe distance from the rotating blades.
■ Do not tip the appliance during start-up except when this is necessary when starting in tall grass. In this case, tilt the appliance by pressing the handle bar so that the front wheels lift up slightly. Always check that both of your hands are in working position before returning the appliance to the ground.
■ Never work without the grass catcher or the impact guard. Keep clear of the discharge opening.
■ Do not start the motor when standing in front of the discharge opening.

WARNING DANGER!
■ Blade keeps turning after the motor is switched off. There is a risk of injury.
■ The appliance must not be lifted or transported while the motor is running. Switch off the appliance if you have to tilt it for transport, when crossing areas other than lawns and when moving the appliance to and from the areas to be mowed.
■ Always keep the grass discharge opening clean and clear. Do not remove cuttings until the appliance is at a complete standstill.
■ Never leave the appliance unsupervised in the working area.
■ Do not work with a damaged or incomplete appliance or an appliance that has been modified without the consent of the manufacturer. Never use the appliance with damaged guards or shields or missing safety devices such as deflectors and/or grass catchers.
■ Do not overload your appliance. Work only within the specified power range and do not change the controller settings on the motor. Do not use low performance machines for heavy work. Do not use the appliance for purposes for which it is not intended.
■ Do not use the appliance near flammable liquids or gases. Ignoring this warning can lead to a risk of fire or explosion.
■ Switch the appliance off and remove the contact key and the battery. Make sure that all moving parts are at a standstill:
– whenever you leave the appliance and when it is not in use,
– before unblocking or clearing obstructions in the discharge duct,
– before checking, cleaning or working on the appliance,
– if you mow over a foreign body. Check for damage to the appliance and make any necessary repairs before restarting and working with the appliance,
– If the appliance begins to vibrate abnormally, it must be checked immediately.
– Ensure that all nuts, bolts and screws are tight.
– Check the appliance for possible damage.
– Carry out the necessary repairs of damaged parts.
■ Do not place your feet or hands near or under rotating parts. Never stand in front of the grass discharge opening.
■ Always remove the circuit breaker/contact key when:
– you move away from the garden appliance or before clearing blockages,
– if you need to check, clean or work on the garden appliance,
– after hitting a foreign object. Check the appliance for damage immediately and have it repaired if necessary,
– if the garden appliance exhibits unusual vibrations (check immediately!).
– When starting up or switching on the motor, do not tilt the lawnmower unless the opera- tion requires the lawnmower to be raised. In this case, tilt it only as far as is absolutely necessary and lift only the side facing away from the user.

Safety instructions for maintenance and storage
■ Let the motor cool down before placing the appliance in an enclosed room.
■ When maintaining the cutting blade, be aware that the cutting blades can be moved even if the power source is switched off.
■ Make sure that all nuts, bolts and screws are tight and that the appliance is in a safe working condition.
■ Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself unless you have received the necessary training.
Any work not specified in these operating instructions may only be carried out by customer service centres authorised by us to do so.
■ Store the appliance in a dry place and out of the reach of children.
■ Handle your appliance with care. Keep the tools sharp and clean to be able to work better and more safely. Follow the maintenance instructions.
■ Wear protective gloves when changing the cutting tools.
■ Check the grass catcher regularly for wear and deformation. For safety reasons, replace worn or damaged parts. Be especially careful when adjusting the blades so that your fingers do not get caught between the rotating blades and fixed parts of the machine.
■ Use only replacement cutting tools that have been approved by the manufacturer.

■ Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
■ Do not use any accessories that are not recommended by PARKSIDE. This can lead to an electric shock or fire.

Safety guidelines for battery chargers

■ This appliance may be used by children aged 8 years and above and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge, provided that they are under supervision or have been told how to use the appliance safely and are aware of the potential risks.
Do not allow children to play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance tasks may not be carried out by children unless they are supervised.
■ To avoid potential risks, damaged power cords should be replaced by the manufacturer, their customer service department or a similarly qualified person.

The charger is suitable for indoor use only.

Before use

Charging the battery pack (see fig. L)
CAUTION!
► Always unplug the appliance before you remove the battery pack 20 from or connect it to the charger.

NOTE
► Never charge the battery pack at an ambient temperature of below 10°C or above 40°C. If a lithium-ion battery is to be stored for an extended period, the charge level should be checked regularly. The optimum charge level is between 50% and 80%. The storage climate should be cool and dry and the ambient tem- perature should be between 0°C and 50°C.
♦ Push the battery pack 20 into the high-speed battery charger 25 (see fig. L).
♦ Insert the mains plug into the mains socket. The control LED 28 lights up red.
♦ The green LED 29 indicates that the charging process is complete and the battery pack 20 is ready.

ATTENTION!
♦ If the red control LED 28 flashes, this means that the battery pack 20 has overheated and cannot be charged.
♦ If the red and green control LEDs 28 29 both flash, this means that the battery pack 20 is defective.
♦ Switch off the charger for at least 15 minutes between successive charging sessions. Also disconnect the power plug from the mains power socket.

Assembly

► Always switch the appliance off and remove the battery before carrying out any work on the appliance.

■ Only carry out work that you are confident in yourself to do.
■ If you are uncertain about anything, consult a specialist or call our Service department.

Fitting the handlebar
(see fig. B)

Attach the lower shanks
♦ Push the two lower shanks 6 into the sockets on the lawnmower housing.
♦ Fix the lower shank 6 into place using the supplied washers 4 and quick-release levers 3.
♦ Lock the quick-release levers 3 by pushing them towards the handle 1. They must lie against the handle in such a way that they can be closed with the application of medium force.
Otherwise, the quick-release lever 3 must be tightened by turning them clockwise or loosened anti-clockwise before closing.

Fitting the handle (see fig. C)
♦ Attach the handle 1 using the supplied nuts 5 , washers 4 and the quick release levers 3 to the lower shanks 6. Three positions are possible.

Fitting the cable retainer (see fig. A)
♦ Clip the cable retainer 16 onto the lower shank 6 and the curved handle 1 and fix it onto the appliance cable 17.

NOTE
► If you loosen and open the quick-release levers 3, you can fold the handle 1 down to store the appliance. Make sure that the appliance cable 17 is not trapped.

Fitting the grass catcher
(see fig. D)
♦ Slide the plastic flaps over the tube frame.
♦ Insert the handle 7 of the grass catcher 8 into the mounting provided for this purpose on the top of the grass catcher 8.

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
► The lawnmower may not be used without the impact guard 9 or the grass catcher 8.
There is a risk of injury.

Operation

► Make adjustments to the lawnmower only when the motor is switched off and the blade is stationary. There is a risk of personal injury.

Switch the appliance off and remove the contact key 15 and wait until the blade is at a complete standstill.

Fitting/removing the grass catcher (see fig. E)

NOTE
► The lawnmower is supplied with the mulching kit 19 pre-fitted.
♦ To attach the grass catcher 8 , lift the impact guard 9 and hook the grass catcher 8 onto the appliance.
♦ Lower the impact guard 9 onto the grass catcher. This holds the grass catcher 8 in the correct position.
♦ To remove the grass catcher 8 , lift the impact guard 9 and unhook the grass catcher 8 from the appliance. Flip the impact guard 9 back down onto the appliance housing 13.

Mulching kit (see fig. F)
Inserting the mulching kit
♦ Remove the grass catcher 8, if attached.
♦ Raise the impact guard 9.
♦ Insert the mulching kit o.
♦ Lower the impact guard 9 onto the mulching ki t 1 9. This holds the mulching kit o in the correct position.
Removing the mulching kit
♦ Remove the mulching kit 19.

♦ Remove the grass catcher 8 , if attached.
♦ Raise the impact guard 9.
♦ Insert the mulching kit o.
♦ Lower the impact guard 9 onto the mulching kit 19. This holds the mulching kit 19 in the correct position.

♦ Remove the mulching kit 19.

Adjusting the cutting height (see fig. G)
The appliance has 5 positions for setting the cutting height
■ 65 mm – max. cutting height
■ 55 mm – medium cutting height
■ 45 mm – medium cutting height
■ 35 mm – low cutting height
■ 25 mm – min. cutting height
♦ Press the cutting height adjustment lever 11 away from the appliance.
♦ Move the cutting height adjustment lever 11 past the notch(es) to the desired cutting height setting.

NOTE
► The correct cutting height for an ornamental lawn is about 25–45 mm, for a utility lawn about 45–65 mm.
► Select a high cutting height for the first cut of the season.
► Comply with regulations regarding noise protection and local rules.

Attaching/disconnecting the battery pack to/from the appliance (see fig. H) Switch the appliance off and remove the contact key 15 and wait until the blade is at a complete standstill. There is a risk of personal injury.

Inserting the battery pack
♦ Raise the transparent cover r on the appliance housing.
♦ To insert the battery pack p into the appliance, push the battery pack p along the guide rail into the appliance. It clicks audibly into place.

Removing the battery pack
♦ To remove the battery pack 20 , press the release button for the battery pack 21 and pull the battery pack 20 out of the appliance.

Checking the battery charge level
♦ Press the battery charge level button 27 to check the status of the battery (see also main diagram).
The status/remaining charge will be shown on the battery display LED 26 as follows:
RED/ORANGE/GREEN = maximum charge
RED/ORANGE = medium charge
RED = low charge – charge the battery

Using the appliance

Switching on and off (see figs. H + I)
Switching on
♦ Place the mower on a level surface.
♦ Raise the transparent cover 14 on the appliance housing.
♦ Push the charged battery pack 20 along the guide rail into the appliance. It clicks audibly into place.
♦ Insert the contact key 15 into the opening provided.
♦ Before switching the appliance on, make sure that it is not in contact any objects.
♦ To switch on the appliance, press the release button 18 and hold it down while pressing the start lever 2.
♦ Let go the release button 18.

Switching off
♦ To switch off, release the start lever 2.

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY!
■ After the appliance is switched off, the blade 23 continues to rotate for a few seconds.
Do not touch the moving blade 23. There is a risk of personal injury.

Working with the lawnmower
Regular mowing stimulates the grass plant to pro- duce more leaves, and at the same time causes weeds to die off. Therefore, repeated mowing causes the lawn to become denser and an uniform- ly resilient lawn is created. The first cut is made from about April onwards at a growth height of 70–80 mm. During the main vegetation period, you should mow the lawn at least once a week.

♦ Push the appliance at walking pace in as straight a path as possible. For seamless mowing, the strips should always overlap by a few centimetres.
♦ Set the cutting height so that the appliance is not overloaded. Otherwise the motor could be damaged.
♦ Always work across the slope. Be extremely careful when mowing backwards and when dragging the appliance.
♦ Clean the appliance after every use as described in the section “Cleaning, maintenance and storage”.

The difference between mowing and mulching
When using the mulching kit 19 , the grass cuttings are not collected in a catcher but shredded and distributed on the lawn.
The nutrients contained in the lawn clippings are thus broken down by soil organisms and form a nutrient cycle. Mulched lawns therefore need to be fertilised much less frequently.
As a rule of thumb, the lawn needs to be mowed relatively often so that only small amounts of mulch remain on the lawn.
Ideally, you should mulch the lawn at least once a week and the mower should be set so that only about 40% of the total height of the lawn is mulched. If too mulch is left on the lawn (for example, during the first lawn cut of the year or during strong growth), use the grass catcher 8.

Cleaning, maintenance and storage

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! Always switch the appliance off and remove the battery before carrying out any work on the appliance.
Have any work that is not described in these instructions carried out by a customer service centre authorised by us. Use only original parts.

Always wear safety gloves when handling the blade.

General cleaning and maintenance work

WARNING!
■ Do not spray the lawnmower with water. There is a risk of electric shock.
■ Keep the appliance clean at all times. Use a brush or cloth for cleaning, but do not use cleaning agents or solvents.
■ After mowing, use a piece of wood or plastic to remove any plant debris adhering to the wheels, the air vents, the discharge opening and the blade area. Do not use any sharp or pointed objects. You could damage the appli- ance.
■ Check the lawnmower before every use for obvious problems such as loose, worn or damaged parts. Check that all nuts, bolts and screws are tight.
■ Check covers and guards for damage and correct fit. Replace them if necessary.

Replacing the blade (see fig. J)
If the blade is blunt, it can be sharpened by a specialist workshop. If the blade is damaged or unbalanced, it must be replaced.

♦ Remove the contact key 15 or the battery pack 20 from the appliance.
♦ Turn the appliance over.
♦ Use sturdy gloves and hold the blade 23 firmly. Unscrew the blade bolt 22 by turning it anticlockwise with a wrench (spanner size 12) and remove it from the motor spindle 24.
♦ Fit the new blade 23 in the reverse order. Make sure that the blade 23 is correctly positioned and the blade bolt 22 is firmly tightened.

Adjusting the cable pull
NOTE
► If the cable has lengthened over time, use a hex key to tighten up the cable fastening.

Storage (see fig. K)
♦ Undo the four quick-release levers 3 and fold the handle 1 and lower shank 6 together so that the appliance takes up less space. Make sure that the appliance cable u is not trapped.
– Store the appliance in a dry location,
– out of the reach of children.
♦ Let the motor cool down before placing the appliance in an enclosed room.
♦ Remove the battery before storing the appliance for an extended period (e.g. over winter).
■ Before storage, ensure that the grass catcher is clean and free of debris. If necessary, clean with a soft dry brush.

The product, its packaging and the operating instructions are recyclable. They are subject to an extended manufacturer responsibility and will be collected separately.

Do not dispose of power tools in your normal domestic waste!
The adjacent symbol of a crossed-out dustbin means that this appliance is subject to Directive 2012/19/EU. This directive states that this appliance may not be disposed of in the normal household waste at the end of its useful life, but must be taken to specially set-up collection locations, recycling depots or disposal companies.
The disposal is free of charge for the user. Protect the environment and dispose of this appliance properly.

Your local community or municipal authorities can provide information on how to dispose of the worn-out product.

Do not dispose of batteries in your normal household waste!
Defective or worn-out rechargeable batteries must be recycled according to Directive 2006/66/EC. Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be treated as hazardous waste and must therefore be disposed of in an environmentally sound manner by appropriate bodies (dealers, specialist dealers, public municipal bodies, commercial disposal companies). Batteries/recharge-able batteries may contain toxic heavy metals.
For this reason, do not dispose of batteries/rechargeable batteries in domestic waste. Take them to a specialist collection point. Only return batteries that are fully discharged.

The packaging is made from environ-mentally friendly material and can be disposed of at your local recycling plant.

Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner.
Note the labelling on the packaging and separate the packaging material components for disposal if necessary. The packaging material is labelled with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with the following meanings:
1–7: plastics, 20–22: paper and cardboard, 80–98: composites.

Dear Customer,
This appliance has a 3-year warranty valid from the date of purchase. If included with the product on delivery, the battery packs of the X12V and X20V Team series also come with a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase. If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below.

Warranty conditions
The warranty period starts on the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt in a safe place. This will be required as proof of purchase.
If any material or manufacturing fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the product, we will either repair or replace the product for you or refund the purchase price (at our discretion). This warranty service requires that you present the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) within the three-year warranty period, along with a brief written description of the fault and of when it occurred.
If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the beginning of a new warranty period.

Warranty period and statutory claims for de fects
The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee.

Scope of the warranty
This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guidelines and inspected meticulously prior to delivery.
The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not cover product parts that are subject to normal wear and tear and can therefore be considered wearing parts, such as saw blades, replacement blades, abrasive papers, etc. or for damage to fragile parts, such as switches or parts made of glass.
The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improperly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discouraged in the operating instructions or which are warned against must be avoided.
This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use of force and modifications / repairs which have not been carried out by one of our authorised Service centres.

The warranty does not apply to
■ Normal reduction of the battery capacity over time
■ Commercial use of the product
■ Damage to or alteration of the product by the customer
■ Non-compliance with safety and maintenance instructions, operating errors
■ Damage caused by natural hazards
