Prep Fixtures and Parts
- Labels are located on the carton, on the fixture, and on the len
- Each section is identified by and ID#.
- Section position starting with X.000 for the first fixture.
- Same fixture configuration can carry identical ID# and are interchangeable.
- Individual fixtures have whole number Y.
- For replacement parts, provide ID# and order #.
Mounting Hardware:
Mounting rails are attached to each fixture section. Unscrew the mounting
rails from the fixture to install rails to the wall first.
Set Up Wall
At power feed locations:
Mount the J-box on the wall at distanced 5-13/16” from the start of run. The
center line of J-box and luminaire run should align with each other.
Secure mounting rails for the first fixture per pattern/row layout.
Leave approximately 1-1/4” space from edge of the wall to mount the rail for
the first section.
Note: Contractor should provide blocking behind wall to adequately
support fixture weight. Level mounting rail to ensure proper mounting.
Opening Fixtures
Grasp dust cover (if present) and pull it slowly out of the
housing. Remove the wiring trays completely by removing
screws from the side of the tray and disconnect the wiring harness from the
tray.
NOTE: Do not discard removed screws. Save to secure the trays back in the
fixture.
Mount Fixtures
**** All power connections should be installed according to local/national
codes by a Certified Electrician.
Make wiring connections with wires from J-box.
a. Slide top flange of mounting bracket underneath top flange of mounting
rail.
b. Rotate fixture toward wall until bottom flange of the mounting bracket
passes bottom flange of mounting rail.
c. While supporting fixture, rest bottom flange of the mounting bracket on
bottom flange of mounting rail.
d. Rotate fixture up toward wall and secure at mounting points with #8 screw
provided.
Join Sections
NOTE: Joining hardware parts provided in a separate red bag.
Install (2) aligner keys onto secured section of the run. The bump
on the aligner key should face the extrusion. Half of the aligner pin should
be exposed to insert into the next section.
a. Slide joining fixture while keeping aligner keys aligned to the slots from
opposite fixture body.
b. Latch the hook (Detail “A”).
c. Install (2x) slider aligners by putting them into the appropriate position
(Detail “B”).
NOTE: Pull wires into the next section before fully joining fixture
together. From each quick connector provided on the intermediate ends of the
fixture remove and discard the half (male or female) to which no wires are
connected. Make electrical connections with quick connectors.
Close Fixture
Insert reflectors into the housings.
Secure reflectors with #8 screws.
Gently push dust cover (if presented) and snap it in into the housing.
NOTE: Use two people when working with fixturesgreater than 4 feet.
Supplemental
Battery Pack/Test Switch (E10WLCP):
a. If battery pack option is selected (E10WLCP), then an un-switched normal
hot is required for power and sensing.
b. Standard battery drop is on the right side of the section with the battery.
See above diagram for location of test button.
For nLight option (NLIGHT):
Pull CAT5 cable through the knockout with the power cord and connect to the
nLight device within the fixture. nLight AIR NOTE:
Install antenna on coax cable.
Remote BGTD Mounting Option:
a. Suggested to mount in an accessible location for maintenance. To be
installed in ceiling or to structure according to local and NEC code.
b. 6 foot flexible conduit is attached. The remote BGTD should be mounted
within 6 feet of the J-box above the fixture.
Dust
Cover Removal (DC/DCF): To remove, lift dust cover.
Wires
used to power EMPACK.
NOTE: Cap the unused wire at the junction box.
Supplemental Wall Mounting Rails
Remove the cover where JB is using a flat head screw driver by inserting it in
designated tabs. Pull wires and wire it in JB to power the fixture. Covers not
in feed location should stay intact.
Bend tabs on the end as shown above for begining of the run and end of run
(first and last fixture). For intermediate fixtures remove tab by bending it
and twisting as shown above on the right.
