Safety Instructions
To minimize the risk of injury, always follow these safety precautions:
- Avoid getting caught in rotating parts of the engine.
Radiator Leakage Test
- Remove the original radiator cap from the radiator or compensation tank.
- Choose the appropriate adaptor from the set and connect it to the radiator or compensation tank.
Radiator Cap Leakage Test
- Remove the original radiator cap.
- Choose a suitable adaptor (2a or 2b) and connect it to the radiator cap.
- Press the test pump several times and observe the pressure gauge. If pressure drops, the cap is defective.
- Compare pressure values with the standard pressure value of the radiator cap.
Maintenance and Storage
- Open the bonnet and fix the vacuum pump to it with hooks.
- Remove the cap of the radiator or coolant reservoir and drain the cooling agent at an appropriate spot.
- Connect a suitable adaptor to the radiator/reservoir.
- Ensure valve 3 is set to On and valve 7 to Off.
- Connect the vacuum pump to the pneumatic source, turn the On/off switch to On.
- Connect the coolant hose to the vacuum pump and place it in a container with cooling agent.
- Before filling coolant, ensure valve 3 is set to Off.
- Fill the hose with coolant and set valve 7 to On to start filling the coolant from its container.
- Once the gauge displays zero, the radiator should be adequately filled. Repeat if needed.

Introduction
Thank you for choosing to purchase this quality product. To minimise the risk
of injury, we ask you to always take some basic safety precautions when using
this product. Please read this operating manual carefully and make sure that
you understand it.
Keep these operation instructions in a safe place.
Safety instructions
- Be particularly careful when opening the radiator. It can be pressurised, hot cooling agent might be ejected.
- Before demounting the pump or adaptor, depressurise.
- After testing the pressure or repairing, check the cooling agent to know if it is at a correct level and if there is enough antifreeze left.
- Take special care when working on a running engine. Loose or sack-like clothes might be caught in rotating parts of the engine.
Operation
Radiator leakage test
- Remove the original radiator cap from the radiator or compensation tank.
- Choose the appropriate adaptor from the set, then connect it to the radiator or compensation tank.
- Now connect the hand pump to the adaptor (Fig. 1).
- Press the test pump until a pressure of 0.68 to 1.03 bar (10–15 psi) is achieved (see Figg. 1 and 2).
Radiator cap leakage test
- Remove the original radiator cap.
- Choose one of the suitable adaptors 2a or 2b, then connect it to the radiator cap.
- Press the test pump several times and observe the pressure gauge. If the pressure drops, the cap is defective (see Fig. 3).
- Compare the pressure values displayed with the standard pressure value of the radiator cap.
Maintenance and storage
- Plug the test adaptor several times onto the quick coupling of the hand pump to press out the water remaining inside.
- Fill pneumatic oil into the air hole of the end of the hand pump to lubricate the piston of the hand pump.
Filling the absorber

Open the bonnet, then fix the vacuum pump to the bonnet with hooks.

Remove the cap of the radiator or coolant reservoir. Totally drain the cooling agent at an appro-priate spot. The maintenance manual of your vehicle tells you how to proceed.

Connect an appropriate vehicle-specific adaptor or the universal adaptor to the radiator/reser-voir (see Figg. 4 and 5).

Make sure that valve 3 is set to “On” and valve 7 to “Off” (see Fig. 6).

Connect the vacuum pump to the pneumatic source and set the “On/off” switch to “On” (see Fig. 7). Set valve 3 to “Off” as soon as a pressure of 0.67–0.84 bar has been reached (see Fig. 8).

Connect the coolant hose to the vacuum pump and put the hose in a container with cooling agent.

Make sur that valve 3 is set to “Off” before starting to fill in the coolant.

Make sure that the hose is filled with coolant.

Set valve 7 to “On” so that the coolant is sucked from its container (see Fig. 9).

As soon as the gauge displays zero, the radiator should be filled enough; otherwise, repeat.
