MEASUREMENTS
- Square Cushion (approx) 50 x 50 cm
MATERIALS
- Velvet 200g x 3 balls
NEEDLES AND EXTRAS
- A pair 9mm knitting needles or size that gives correct tension.
- A yarn needle
- Strong sewing thread for sewing seams
- 50 x 50cm cushion insert
TENSION
- 8 sts to 10 cm in width over stocking st, using 9mm needles.
SQUARE CUSHION
- Using pair 9mm needles, cast on 39 sts loosely.
- Knit in stocking st until work measures approx 49 cm from beg, working last row on WS.
- Tie a coloured thread at each end of last row to mark fold line.
- Cont until work measures 49 cm from coloured threads, working last row on WS. Cast off loosely.
FINISHING
- DO NOT PRESS. Darn in ends. Fold cushion in half at fold line so that cast on and cast off edges meet. Using strong sewing thread, join side edges. Place insert inside and close opening.
