Attention: Hazard of injury!
- Do not touch the sharp blade!
- Handle cutting tools with care to avoid injuries!

- The appliance has a delayed motor stop after it has been switched off. Therefore, please wait until it has stopped before removing the processed foodstuff from the bean tank.
IMPORTANT: Never grind too hard ingredients, like e.g. nutmeg, stones of fruits or sticky and moist foods, like e.g. cheese, chocolate, or onions!
Preparing the appliance for use
- Completely unwind the power cord from the cord taken up at the appliance’s bottom.
Filling the beans tank, putting on the lid
- Take off the lid of the bean tank. Fill the tank with coffee beans up to 2 cm below the upper rim of the tank. The maximum filling quantity is 70 g.
- NOTE: Do not fill with more than the specified filling quantity!
- Put the lid on the bean tank and ensure a proper fitting.
Coarseness setting
- The coarseness of the coffee powder depends on the duration of the operation. Please observe that the grinding times given below refer to a filling quantity of about 35 g of coffee beans (half of the max. filling quantity). Smaller or bigger filling quantities require different grinding times, of course:
- fine powder: ca. 30 – 45 seconds
- medium fine powder: ca. 15 – 30 seconds
- coarse powder: ca. 5 – 15 seconds
- For processing large quantities we recommend stopping the grinding after an instant and giving the unit a short shake or slight knock, allowing the coffee powder to slip toward the blade again.
- Try by yourself until you have found the suitable grinding time for the coarseness of your taste.
Switching the appliance on and off
- Connect the appliance to the mains.
- By pressing the lid you start the grinding process. Keep the lid pressed down during the whole grinding process.
- Once the grinding is done, release the pressure on the lid of the bean tank and the appliance will stop automatically.

- Do not use any abrasives or solvents!
- Never use a steam jet appliance for cleaning!
Interesting facts
- The taste of beverages containing coffee depends on the quality of the used coffee or espresso beans.
- Condition for the aromatic preparation of beverages with coffee is the perfect grinding of the roasted beans as this increases the surface for the contact with water and thus, the release of flavors.
- A roasted coffee bean contains more than 1,000 different flavoring substances. The finer the grinding, the more substances are released.
- After a few minutes already, the ground powder loses more the 50 % of its flavour. Therefore, coffee specialists recommend storing whole coffee beans and only grinding the quantity just needed.
- Different coffee beverages require different coarseness settings; but also the beans’ sort and roasting as well as your taste decide on how fine the coffee powder should be ground. Take our recommendations (see below) as a basis and try yourself until you have found your coarseness setting:
- The coarse powder is suitable for hand-filtered coffee.
- Medium powder is used with usual boiler espresso machines.
- Fine powder is suitable for filter coffee makers or for automatic pump-pressure espresso machines.
- The extra-fine powder is recommended for manual mocha-making.
