Scope of Delivery

  • See Figure A

  • HNA outdoor emergency battery

  • Fitting material

  • These instructions

Product Description

The HNA outdoor emergency battery is connected to the control print in the sliding gate operator or to the print in the control housing for the hinged gate operator via a permanent cable that is approx. 70 cm long.

Depending on the type of operator, the HNA outdoor emergency battery can be fitted to the wall or ground, or directly on the operator.

Dissemination as well as duplication of this document and the use and communication of its content are prohibited unless explicitly permitted. Fitting

Before fitting

  1. Switch off the operator power supply.

    • Open the operator or control in
accordance with the instructions for fitting, operating and maintenance to make the control print accessible.

    • For ground or wall fitting, draw the position of the holes.

  • **See Figures 1a.1 / 1b.1 / 1c.1

**

  * Fit the emergency battery so that the LED is visible.
  * On the sliding gate operator, pull the connecting lead from below through the tube seal and into the housing without any distortion.
  * Insert the emergency battery cable ends in the appropriate connector of the control print ( **see Figures 2a / 2b)**.

Pay attention to the correct polarity. If the polarity is incorrect, the emergency battery will not operate properly.

  * Reassemble the operator or control in accordance with the instructions for fitting, operating and maintenance.

NOTE:
If the connected lead is too long, the extra length can be pushed back into the emergency battery housing.

Putting into Service

  • Reconnect the operator power.
The orange LED on the emergency battery signals that the battery is charging cyclically and mains voltage is available. When the LED is green, the operator is on battery power. There is no mains voltage available.

Storage

The emergency battery should not remain without recharging for longer than 3 months if it is not connected to an operator.

Inspection

Check the emergency battery for the first time only after it has been fully charged (min. 48 h).

NOTE:
To ensure operational safety, check the function of the emergency battery every 3 months.

  1. Switch off the operator power supply
  2. Perform 2 – 3 complete gate cycles. (The operator may work at a reduced speed)
  3. Reconnect the operator power.

Remove battery

Work on the emergency battery must only be carried out by trained personnel!

ATTENTION

Incorrect installation
Incorrect installation will destroy the electronics.

  • Electrical connections may only be made by a qualified electrician!
  • The national regulations governing the operation of electrical equipment must be complied with.

See Figure 3

  1. Switch off the power supply for the operator or control.

  2. Open the operator or control.

  3. Unplug the connecting lead for the emergency battery from the circuit board.

  4. Loosen the lock screw on the support bracket for the emergency battery.
    Remove the emergency battery.

  5. Loosen the 4 screws on the rear of the emergency battery. Open the housing.

  6. Remove the flat plugs from the batteries.
Remove the batteries. If necessary, carefully pull the circuit board out of the guide.
