SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

To ensure safe operation, read the following statements and understand their meaning. This manual contains safety precautions which are explained below. Please read carefully. Warning is used to indicate the presence of a hazard that will or can cause severe personal injury or death. Caution is used to indicate the presence of a hazard that will or can cause minor or major personal injury if the caution is ignored.

NOTICE: Notice is used to note information that is important but not hazard-related.

To reduce risk of injury or damage to the equipment:

  • Plug only into a three-hole grounded electrical outlet.
  • Use only on flat, level surfaces.
  • Unplug the heat lamp and let cool before cleaning or moving.
  • Unplug the heat lamp when not in use.
  • Do not immerse in water.
  • Do not spray with water or cleaning agents.
  • Individual infrared bulbs should not to exceed 250 watts each.

FUNCTION AND PURPOSE

This equipment is intended to help maintain the proper serving temperature of hot food items in a commercial food service environment. It is not intended to cook raw food or reheat prepared food. It is not intended for household, industrial or laboratory use.

OPERATION

CAUTION

Burn Hazard
Equipment may be hot during and following use. Do not touch any part of this equipment until it has cooled.

  1. Place the heat lamp on a flat, stable surface.

  2. Plug the power cord into a three-hole grounded electrical outlet.

  3. Place a heat-proof container of hot food under the heat lamp.
    NOTICE: To prevent spills, do not overfill the food container.

  4. Place the switch on the power cord into the ON position.

CLEANING

  • WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard Do not immerse in water or other liquid. Do not spray with water or cleaning products. Liquid could enter the electrical compartment and cause a short circuit or electric shock.
  • CAUTION Burn Hazard Allow equipment to cool before moving or cleaning.
  • NOTICE: Do not use abrasive materials, scratching cleansers, or scouring pads to clean the equipment. These can damage the finish.

To maintain the appearance of the heat lamp and increase the service life, clean the food warmer at least daily.

  1. Turn off, unplug, and allow the heat lamp to cool completely.
  2. Wipe the equipment with a clean, damp cloth.
  3. Thoroughly wipe off any soap residue. The residue could corrode the surface of the unit.

Serviceable parts are available on Vollrath.com. To avoid serious injury or damage, never attempt to repair the unit or replace a damaged power cord yourself. Do not send units directly to The Vollrath Company LLC. Please contact Vollrath Technical Services for instructions. When contacting Vollrath Technical Services, please be ready with the item number, model number (if applicable), serial number, and proof of purchase showing the date the unit was purchased.
