Cleaning from scale (decalcification)

To prolong the life of the coffee machine, it is critical to clean the unit from scale in a timely manner. The descaling frequency depends on water hardness in your region. To determine the level, we recommend using paper indicator testers that are immersed in water and change color depending on the amount of calcium, magnesium and iron. Based on the data obtained, it is necessary to choose one of the following decalcification frequency schemes:

Level Water hardness, mg/l Descale after (number of cups)
Level 1 0-50 880
Level 2 51-120 440
Level 3 151-250 280
Level 4 251-425 220

You can use calcium powder or tablets that are designed for automatic coffee machines and other food and drink-making devices as a cleaning agent.

  • Make the descaling solution according to the cleaning agent instructions.
  • Fill the water tank (4) with the prepared solution up to the maximum mark and place it in the coffee machine (fig. 9).
