PREPARATION FOR USE

IMPORTANT
Abide by the instructions given in this manual. Failure to do so may be dangerous for the user and anyone else close by. Always keep this manual in a safe place, readily available for reference if necessary.This unit is manufactured to use either butane or propane, with a suitable regulator and a hose or flexible hose, which are sold separately. This unit should only be used outdoors, and away from inflammable materials. Never use a unit that is leaking, that is not operating properly or that is damaged. Return it to your dealer, who will indicate the nearest servicing agent. Never modify this unit, or use it for applications for which it was not intended

Gas cylinder and regulator

This unit can be used with a CAMPINGAZ butane cylinder type 904 or 907 and the CAMPINGAZ 28-30 mbar or 50 mbar regulator. It can also be used with other, larger, butane or propane reservoirs 6 kg, 13 kg, etc  and the appropri-ate relief valves  consult your dealer France, Belgium, Luxembourg, U.K., Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Italy:
butane 28-30 mbar / propane 37 mbar Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Hungary, Croatia: butane 30 mbar / propane 30 mbar
Switzerland, Germany, Austria:butane 50 mbar / propane 50 mbar. When connecting or changing a cylinder, always oper-ate in an open, well ventilated place, and never in the presence of a flame, spark or any other source of heat.

Hoses France

The device must be used with a flexible hose designed to be fitted into a threaded end piece on the device side and held in place on the regulator with clamps XP D 36-110 Standard. Length must not be greater than 1.50 m. The hose must be changed if the use-by date has been reached or if it is damaged or cracked. Do not pull on the hose or twist it. Keep the hose away from any parts that may become hot. Install the hose as described in the assembly instruc-tions, supplied with the hose and collars.A gas tight seal should be checked. Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, U.K., Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Croatia: The stove is equipped with a ribbed end-piece for use with a type of hose suitable for butane and propane. Hose length should not exceed 1.20 m. It should be changed if it has been damaged, if it is cracked, or when national regulations require doing so. Do not pull on the hose or twist it. Keep the hose away from any parts that may become hot.
A gas tight seal should be checked. Switzerland, Germany, Austria The stove should be used with a type of hose suitable for butane and propane. Hose length should not exceed 1.20 m. It should be changed if it has been damaged, if it is cracked, or when national regulations require doing so. Do not pull on the hose or twist it. Keep the hose away from any parts that may become hot. Connecting the hose: to connect the hose to the stove union, tighten the hose nut firmly, but without excessive force, using the two appropriate wrenches

• 10 mm wrench to tighten the stove inlet union
• 17 mm wrench to tighten the hose wrench gas tight seal should be checked.

CONNECTING THE GAS CYLINDER

If replacing an empty cylinder.Removing or changing the gas cylinder.When installing or removing a gas cylinder, always operate in an open, very well ventilated place, never in the presence of a flame, spark or any other source of heat cigarette, electrical appliance, etc and away from other persons or inflammable materials.Place the gas cylinder on the ground, behind or next to the stove.

• Close the tap on the regulator or gas cylinder.

• Screw or push the regulator onto the cylinder or onto the valve on the gas cylinder.

• Close the valves on the stove by turning the control knobs clockwise, position

• Check that the flexible hose or hose is in place normally with no torsion or traction.

• Check that the air holes in the burner tube, close to the injector, are not obstructed by dust or cobwebs.

Gas leaks

Do not check for leaks using a flame. Use a gas leak detecting liquid.  Apply gas leak detecting liquid to the cylinder/regulator/ hose/stove unions. The adjustment control knobs should remain as set 1. Open the gas supply valve or lever on the regulator. Any gas leaks will be indicated by bubbles. Stop the leak by tightening the nuts. Replace any
defective parts. The stove must not be used until all leaks have been eliminated.  Close the valve on the gas cylinder.

Important
An overall inspection and leaks check must be carried out at least annually and always after changing the gas cylinder.

OPERATION

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Do not use your stove at a distance closer than 20 cm to a wall or flammable object, nor closer than 1 metre to a ceiling.

WARNING
Accessible parts may be very hot. Keep young children away. Never touch the pan support (2) or the burner during or just after using the equipment. Never use the equipment without the pan support.

Position the equipment on a stable, horizontal surface and do not move when in use. Do not use a container smaller than 12 cm or larger than 20 cm in diameter. In the event of a leak smell of gas, close all valves. Wait for the stove to cool down completely before handling it to return it to its place of storage. After use, always close the valve on the regulator or gas cylinder. Do not move the device when it is in operation.

Lighting up

• Open the gas supply valve or lever on regulator.
• Present a flame close to the burner and turn the burner control knob (1) anti-clockwise.
• Adjust the flame to receptacle dimensions by turning the wheel.
• Do not use receptacles with a diameter larger than 20 cm.
• If you would like to fine-tune the simmering temperature, adjust the flame level by turning the wheel.
• In case of strong wind, place the device with the lid facing the wind Base Camp Lid model so that the wind does not make the burner flame flare up beyond the pan bottom.
• When cooking is finished, turn the wheel (1) corresponding to the burner in a clockwise direction to the (l) position

SHUTTING DOWN

Close the valve on the regulator or gas cylinder. When the flames have gone out, close the stove valves 1 by turning the control knobs to position l.

REMOVING OR CHANGING THE GAS CYLINDER

• Check that the gas cylinder valve or regulator lever is in the closed position.
• Disconnect the regulator from the gas cylinder.
• Install the new gas cylinder.
• Connect the regulator to the new gas cylinder (check the condition of the regulator seal, before connecting it to the gas cylinder.

STORAGE SERVICING

Stove

• Ensure that your stove is regularly maintained and it will give you many years of excellent service.
• Do not clean the stove while it is in operation.
• Wait for it to cool down, to avoid burning yourself on the hot parts pan supports, burners.
• When cleaning, be careful to avoid clogging the burner holes.
• If the holes are clogged, for example by food that has spilled over, open them with a nonmetal brush.
•  Clean greasy parts with soap and water or a nonabrasive detergent product.
• The pan holder (2) can be removed.
• You can take it off to make cleaning the device easier.
• To remove the pan support, pull it upwards.
• To reposition it, insert the legs located on each site of the support into the holes found on each side of the device.

The lid may also be removed Base Camp Lid model.

To take the lid off  hold it on both sides and open it. Pull the lid upwards, then close it slowly to unhook it. To reposition the lid Base Camp Lid model. insert the tabs located at the rear of the lid into the slots at the rear of the device.

Open the lid completely, then close it without forcing. Store the device in a dry,ventilated place. If the device has not been used for 30 days, check to see that cobwebs are not clogging the burner hose openings this could lead to decreased burner efficiency or to a dangerous ignition of gas outside the burner.

Flexible hose or hose between the regulator and the stove

Regularly check the condition of the hose/hose and change it if it shows signs of ageing or cracking.

• France, if the expiry date printed on the hose or hose has been reached, the flexible hose and collars must be replaced by components meeting the requirements
  of standard XP D 36-110.

• Follow the assembly instructions supplied with these new models, the length of which must not exceed 1.50 m, and proceed as described in Section A – 2).

• If your stove is likely to be left unused for a long period, disconnect the gas cylinder.

Possible problems / Corrective action

The burner does not light up

| Poor gas suppy reguatory not operating propery. Prepeare, entur tube or burner h es obstructe.
The burner does not burn smoothy or goes out| Check that gass present

Check the pipe connect on

Insufficient heat| Injector or entur  tube obstructe. Contact your servicing agent.
Burning leak behind the a justment knob| Defect valve shut down the stove. Contact your servicing agent.
