This glass door beverage center/bottom freezer combo is for residential use only. It is not intended to be used in commercial or industrial settings.

Congratulations, you have acquired a high-quality Hamilton Beach glass door beverage center/bottom freezer combo. This unit is packed with features that you will find convenient to use. Please follow the safety precautions and operating instructions provided in this easy-to-use manual. Please take the time to read it, and save these instructions for future use. **** Safety Precautions

Read all of the instructions before using this appliance. When using this appliance, always exercise basic safety precautions, including the following:

  1. Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in this use and care guide.

  2. This glass door beverage center/bottom freezer combo must be properly installed in accordance with the installation instructions before it is used. See grounding instructions in the installation section.

  3. Never unplug your glass door beverage center/bottom freezer combo by pulling on the power cord. Always grasp the plug firmly and pull it straight out from the outlet.

  4. Repair or replace immediately, all electric service cords that have become frayed or otherwise damaged. Do not use a cord that shows cracks or abrasion damage along its length, the plug, or the connector end.

  5. Unplug your glass door beverage center/bottom freezer combo before cleaning or before making any repairs. Note: If for any reason this product requires service, we strongly recommend that a certified technician performs the service.

  9. Do not refreeze foods, which have been thawed completely. The United States Department of Agriculture in Home and Garden Bulletin No.69 reads:”…You may safely refreeze frozen foods that have thawed if they still contain ice crystals or if they are still cold-below 40F”.
    “…Thawed ground meats, poultry, or fish that have any off-odor or off-color should not be refrozen and should not be eaten. Thawed ice cream should be discarded. If the odor or color of any food is poor or questionable, discard it. The food may be dangerous to eat.”
    …Even partial thawing and re-freezing reduce the eating quality of foods, particularly fruits, vegetables, and prepared foods. The eating quality of red meats is affected less than that of many other foods. Use refrozen foods as soon as possible, to save as much of their eating quality as you can.

  10. This glass door beverage center/bottom freezer combo should not be recessed or built-in an enclosed cabinet. It is designed for freestanding installation only.

  11. Do not operate your glass door beverage center/bottom freezer combo in the presence of explosive fumes.

  12. Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.

  13. WARNING: keep ventilation openings clear of obstruction.

  14. WARNING: do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process, other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

  15. WARNING: do not damage the refrigerant circuit.

  16. WARNING: All refrigeration products contain refrigerants, which under federal law must be removed prior to product disposal. If you are getting rid of an old refrigeration product, check with a qualified disposal company for instructions.

How To Install

  • Install the unit in a convenient location away from extreme heat and cold. This unit should be far away from the heating source and prevent direct sunlight. Allow sufficient clearance between the unit and the sidewall so the door will open without obstruction. This unit is designed for free-standing installation only, not for recessed installation.

  • Select a space with a strong level floor. Not recommended for carpeting or other soft/uneven surfaces.

  • Allow 5 inches of space between the unit’s side, rear, and the wall. In addition, sufficient clearance (160°) should be maintained to allow the door to open properly and completely.

  • The appliance must be correctly connected to the power supply, 115V/60Hz, and certainly grounded. Do not under any circumstance cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. Any questions concerning power and/or grounding should be directed toward a certified electrician or an authorized service center.
    This unit is not designed to be installed in an RV or used with an inverter.

  • Do not use an extension cord.

  • This unit should be placed without packages on the horizon. It is not allowed to slant over 45°during transportation.

  • Avoid locating the glass door beverage center/ bottom freezer combo in moist areas.

How To Operate

  • Wines should be laid on the shelves in sealed containers to avoid leakage.
  • Do not overload.
  • Do not open the door unnecessarily or leave the door ajar.
  • Do not cover the shelf with any material such as aluminum foil as this will impede air circulation within the cabinet.

Cooler Compartment (Upper)

Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance. The cooler compartment can be loaded with bottled wine or canned beverages or beer.
Please place the wine bottles reference to the following figure to get maximum loading:

  • This compartment is designed for the long-term storage of frozen food. The storage time period is up to three months.
  • The storage life of frozen foods varies and the recommended storage time should not be exceeded.
  • Place frozen food into the freezer as quickly as possible after purchase. If there are instructions on the package, carefully follow these instructions regarding storage time.

Notes: Do not store can food or food stored in glass containers in the freezer compartment.

Starting and running the unit

Important: If the unit is brought in from outside in the winter season, give it a few hours to warm up to room temperature before plugging it in.
And also after transportation and moving of the unit, please wait for a least 4 hours then to plug on the unit.

  1. Remove the packaging material.
  2. Clean the unit thoroughly. Wipe the outside with a soft dry cloth, and the interior with a clean moist cloth.
  3. Insert the power supply cord into the socket to start the unit.
  4. Suggest putting wines or beverages into the cooler compartment and putting the food into the freezing compartment after at least two hours after the power is on.

Temperature Control

The temperature inside the cabinet is controlled by the thermostat. And the digits shown near the knob do not mean the real temperature inside. The bigger the number is, the
more refrigeration is. And “0” means the switch off.
When you adjust to the seventh gear, there may be a certain amount of condensed water. When this happens, it is recommended to adjust the temperature to the fourth gear to run.Hamilton Beach HBMIS4515 Glass Door

Control

Light Control

The unit has a built-in LED light in the cooling compartment. Use the power switch beside the thermostat dial to turn on or turn off the LED light.
Note: Wait 3-5 minutes before restarting if you unplug the glass door beverage center/ bottom freezer combo. The unit may fail to operate properly if restarted too quickly.

Door Reversing

WARNING: Follow all steps when reversing the door swing. Failure to follow these instructions, leaving off parts, or overtightening screws, can lead to the door falling off and result in injury and property damage.

  2. Remove the 2 plug buttons on the left side on top of the cabinet.

  3. Remove the plastic hinge cover by prying it from the back and pulling it forward.

  4. Remove the 2 screws from the top hinge.

  5. Lift the cooler door up and off the center hinge (right side). Set the cooler door on a non-scratching surface with the outside up.

  6. Open the freezer door and remove the center hinge by removing the 2 screws.
    Lift the hinge to remove it.

  7. Lift the freezer door off of the bottom hinge. Set the freezer door on a non-scratching surface with the outside up.

  8. Lay the refrigerator on its back to access the bottom hinge.

  9. Remove the bottom hinge by removing the 3 screws. Lift the hinge to remove it.

How To Clean

IMPORTANT: Do not clean your unit with flammable fluids. The fumes can create a fire hazard or explosion.
WARNING: Before maintenance or clean to the unit, be sure to unplug the unit first.
Prohibit pouring down the water or let the whole unit submerge in the water, it will wet the inside electrical parts.
Cleaners: Never use harsh, abrasive cleaners, heavy-duty cleaners, or solvents on any surface.
Exterior: Wipe with a damp, sudsy cloth, rinse and dry. For stubborn stains and for periodic waxing, use silicon wax.
Refrigeration Section: Wash shelves and other removable parts in warm sudsy water, rinse, and dry. Wash interior with baking soda solution (3 tablespoons to I liter of water)
or warm sudsy water, rinse and dry.
Magnetic Door Seals: Wash with warm sudsy water.

Care And Maintenance

  • The unit should be cleaned on a regular basis. (See: “HOW TO CLEAN”)

  • It is necessary to have adequate ventilation space around the unit in order to attain proper performance, dissipation of heat, maintain efficiency, and low power consumption. Clearance of a minimum of 5 inches should be maintained at the rear and sides of the unit and 8 inches at the top of the unit.

  • Do not modify the power cord under any circumstance to allow the unit to be plugged into a non-grounded outlet. To avoid heat damage to the power cord, please ensure
    that it does not come in proximity or in direct contact with the compressor of the unit.

  • Please avoid installing the unit in a location where the appliance will come in contact with water or moisture to minimize rusting of metal parts.

  • The unit should not be installed near any heat source or in a location where it will come in direct contact with sunlight.

  • The components, if need to be replaced, should be replaced with like components, and should be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard and minimize the risk of possible ignition due to incorrect parts or improper service.

Troubleshooting

When the unit is not in use for a prolonged period

  • Remove the plug from the outlet.

  • Remove all contents from the unit.

  • Dry the interior and leave the door open for a few days.
    When the unit does not work

  • Check if there is a power failure.

  • Check if the power plug is plugged into the power outlet.

  • Check that the fuse has not blown in the main supply circuit.

  • Secure all movable parts and contents. (Package them separately if necessary.)

  • Transport the fridge only in an upright position. In any other position, you may damage the compressor.

Before calling the service, please follow the checklist below. This may save you an expensive service call.

If the unit seems too warm inside

  • Check to see that the door is closing properly and the door seal is not damaged.

  • Check that the interior circulation is not obstructed by having too many goods stored.
    (The fridge is overloaded)

  • Did you store anything hot, without first cooling it to room temperature?

  • Is there sufficient clearance around all sides and above the fridge?

  • Do you set the temperature too high?
    When the condensate water overflows inside the unit and onto the floor

  • Check that the drain pipe and the drain hose are not clogged.

  • Check that the drain pan is housed properly.
    When condensation forms on the outside of the unit

  • Condensation may form on the outside when the humidity level is high such as during a wet season. This is the same result as the condensation formed when chilled water is poured into a glass. It does not, therefore, indicate a failure, wipe dry with a dry cloth.
    If the glass door beverage center/bottom freezer combo starts making any unusual noises

  • Is it wobbling? Re-level it and check if it now operates normally.

  • Have any objects fallen behind the fridge? If so, remove them and check if the operation is now normal.

  • Are any containers inside the fridge vibrating or resonating? If so, rearrange them then check to see if the operation has returned to normal.

This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase.
